  • It is a slow growing typical household plant, loved by many because of its variegated foliage and the tropical look. it has this dark green/ bright green leaves with spots of cream. It has different names, and the method of propagation and care of this plant is explained well in this video. Watch this video to understand more about this tropical plant.
My sincere thanks to team LEAK for making this video possible.

I grow wild seed from plants I gather and have discovered a variegated variety (of asimia triloba) that has a similar appearance to this plant (when young). That is why I am here, I am looking for anything similar to what I have (especially a plant disease) or as a valuable variegated plant. I am sensing that the high value of variegated plants is often due to the difficulty in growing them and of course their insane beauty.
    thank you for your work.

This dracaena really takes time to grow, in two years mine is just half a feet tall. Its variegation is beautiful but I have started loosing patience but after seeing your plant it looks like it's worth the wait. Really your cool and patience is reflected in your videos. Thanks, learn a lot from you.

Do what the size of your plant at 3 to 4 years old is considered to be slow? I've had mine for I'd say 3 to 4 years and it's not even one foot tall but it has 2 flowers on it. The 2 flowers is what brought me to research and find this video. Maybe tho I've had 3 to 4 years it may have been a cutting off of a older plant that was bout to flower. After all it is a clone of its parent. You have a beautiful plant and if I'm fortunate to have mine get that large I'll stake it like yours. Thank you for the info

    Hi Sangeetha
A wonderful presentation. I also would like to thank the videographer for the excellent lighting by which the subtle hues in the plants in front of you. The variation of the colours have been brought out very nicely. Keep up the good work.
I believe you live in Kerala. At the Birmingham Balaji temple the keralites come together to celebrate Onam festival. The Saturday after Onam they get together. The men and ladies start cooking early in the morning. It’s essentially Kerala food. After lunch there is a cultural event performed by both children and adults. Drama, music and dance and it goes on for well over 4hrs. The temple would have over 3000 people attending. Keralites from all over UK come for this function. I was in charge of photography at the temple and had created photo albums for each year till I gave up the responsibility of taking photographs.
In your last post you mentioned about using fish line to tie kokedama. I had bought very fine colourless nylon thread. Extremely strong. It comes in reels similar to that used in sewing machines. I have used it to tie orchids onto cork bark. Unless it’s looked upon closely it’s hardly visible. Once covered with moss it appears that the orchid is growing on the bark.
    Keep up the good work.
    Kind regards
    Mano

I have the dark green spotted one, I had to struggle initially with numerous failed attempts, now every time I trim some excessively long branch, I put the cuttings in an ice cream cup and some soil and I get a new plant with almost zero failure, but it seems to have an unknown enemy, a pest that clips the stems at the soil itself with no residue whatsoever no discarded leaves or anything just clean cuts, i suspect that it might be a squirrel or a large lizard (Now I've shifted all of them behind mosquito nets so they're safe for now)
