There's a more mysterious trick that was left unexplored here: riding two of those things at the same time. It should be doable, since each requires only one foot.
This was absolutely useless and completely uninformative. And yet, your dry sense of of humor made the entire thing really funny. Honestly, I'd totally be down if you started making this sort of thing regularly.
I have an idea. You should try removing one of the wheels of the duo-unibicle since the rear wheel isn't strictly necessary. Then you have a much more elegant device; call it the monoduo-unibicle. If you then have some balance issues, just find a wheel somewhere and attach it on the end for stabilization (bimonoduo-unibicle).
This video is incredible and near perfection, although speaking as someone who lived with two cobweb-covered cut up bicycles under his bed for two years of gradschool and then MOVED with them to a house with a garage so they didn't have to live under the bed anymore... I'm feeling rather called out.
I clicked without seeing who uploaded, just expecting to see some silly bike physics tricks and instead was blessed with countless bike puns like “It’s a real shimano-a-mano affair”. Absolutely brilliant as always
im cracking up so hard at the fact that you pretty much dissasembled your bike only to reassemble it into more or less the same exact thing, except now it looks like something i'd find off some shoddy "authentic vintage chinese bike" store

this is one of my absolute favorite videos of all time, and i'm so disappointed that it only has like 100K views after 4 years i remember watching this a while ago, probably around when it was uploaded, and at some point remembering the video, not being able to find it because it has so little views, and asking for a video with something along the lines of "duounibicycle" on the internet - i got no answer, and now again i've finally found the video years later probably, and what sucks is now i can't find that thread, so if anyone ever stumbles upon it i will never be able to tell them i have the answer!
Fucking high quality content. More thought and work goes into each of these videos than into a hundred of videos on some multimillion subscriber channels. Love this funny and creative, yet really smart and techy stuff, keep it up!
I remember watching this a couple of years ago and didn't really find it that amusing. I'm now in my 30's and laughed a lot. I must have become dry. Simply brilliant video
The perfect ending would have been if after adding the second wheel you said something like "to make it easier I added a second pedal on the right and a seat to sit on, and finally I could ride the unibicle" and then you just ride a normal bicycle
I don't know if I should post this considering what I just watched... You know the way skateboarders tic tac to gain speed? Well, there's a similar maneuver that can be carried out on bikes. You simply shift your weight and bike from side to side while keeping the rythm with the handle bars in the same general direction. But just as you start to oversteer to one side, you flick the handle bars to the opposite direction. This causes a weight transfer and friction from the front wheel to the ground. When you get really skilled at this your tyres will make a aggressive braking sound but you will be propelled forward at high speed. Start practising at no speed from a stand still sitting down on your bike. We used this maneuver hundreds of times through the years when the bike chain broke and no tools were available. It's a neat trick that saves you from a long walk home. =) Good luck, and thanks for this funny video. =)
I tried to look up "tic tac with a bike" on youtube, but I could only find videos of kids with dental issues. Is there any proper term for this or do you know any video that shows it?
@@Linck192 Sorry my friend. I have never found a video about it either. It's a very interesting exploit of physics. Some of us who we really good at it could get home after the chain failed. So we were rarely stranded. Maybe I should dust off one of my bikes and make a video about it. =)
I used to do a very small scale version of this while sitting (basically precisely what you described as the easy mode version to start) and yeah I definitely could never reach that kind of speed without doing it
3:55 So glad you did the first thing first here. The Dork Disk only exists because of absolutely wild, outdated, and misinformed regulations on bicycles. They're entirely useless, but every bike sold in the US needs to have them.
the segment where you try to name this one-wheeled bike and settle on ukelele thoroughly glorped my word-box. i was no longer sure what people actually call unicycles. For removing the bike chain there's usually a C pin in one of the chain links that is easily removable. If it's not there then a screw driver wedged into one chain link and force applied will pop it open.

Maybe it would be better balanced if the pedal was between the wheels, attached with some kind of chain.
And instead of one pedal; 2, one on each side
And I think it should have a seat in the middle to make balancing easier. As a plus, the rider can then use both legs.
and while we're at it, change the name to unicycle
And then we should add brakes just in case! You never know!
9 inch bars, 21 inch frame, 20 inch wheels, no brakes, 4 pegs and a tall seat
