"I don't feel like the show managed to bring all the magic (pun intended) that is Malec from the books." - no offence but this was just hilarious to read. Go read book 1 and tell me where we get anything regarding Malec. Everything was off page. The show has been a true blessing for Malec fans, they finally got the attention they deserves right from the start.
+Dare - wait for it - Devil I never said there was a lot of Malec in book 1. The books are one of my favorite fantasy series out there so I know very well how the stories go and what characters get the most representation on the pages. But I don't think that Malec on Shadowhunters and Malec in the TMI books are the same, they are portrayed very differently. Their relationship is a lot more public on the show and that is a treat for us Malec fans but the magic I was referring to in my description box was the slow burn coming out story that we get to read in the books (and short stories by Clare). None the less: I hope you enjoyed the video! I certainly had a lot of fun (and feels) making it!
I love the parallels after 2:06 between their voiceovers. Alec had planned to be this emotionless warrior, while Magnus preferred to be with people without ever falling in love. And both of those plans fell short when Magnus and Alec met. I love when videos make me see the characters differently, or help me understand a different part of their psyche. An amazing video from beginning to end! Thank you for this ❤
I literally had this open all day, but something always came between me and the epicness that is this vid. I've said it a bunch of times after watching the previews, but this really is epic. More than I could've anticipated. The editing is flawless, I love the coloring, and you picked the perfect moments. Awesome job, roomie ;)

This is still my favourite Malec video to this day. It has the right kind intensity to it which I often find missing in other MVs. Maybe it's the fact that you gave context to those two. Not only focusing on their relationship but also who they are individually and what world they live in. I can't believe how far those two lovelies have gone now. I was giggling myself silly at the mid-season Finale. If you ever decide to do a video of their further path, I'd be very eager to see it. ❤❤❤

This was beautifully done! Malec is so poignant that it pierces you. I think you're right, the book brings a bit darker, repressed Alec between the lines. but the show is beautiful in its own right. I love that you time the ending so nicely with the music. May I know where the music is from?
