Thanks for the great research! Really enjoyed this. I also like how you have a sepia like look to this video. So glad they don’t use leeches today, actually I’d feel sorry for them lol! 😊
I really hope you make a series of these i keep watching this one just because nothing else even comes close to how relaxing this is for me. Id just love to be able to turn on a playlist of them lol with all different Victorian practices would be so amazing! Just want to out it out into the universe i know these must be so much work for you so please just do what ever works for you but if you had any ideas for doing more like this then id love to see them! :)
Love love this! I love history. Everything came together so perfect! I think ECT is one of the things we still do today that seems a little passé! I dont know how you kept a straight face for some of these questions. 😂 Such different times, the times where women suffered from Hysteria 😂 Next up... the transorbital lbotomy. Avec ice pick... 👁 Maybe Halloween that's a bit gory. Only you could pull it off.
Speaking of hysteria, when you get the chance look up that “galvanic machine”. I bought it thinking I would do a headache video, then researched it and was like, wait… 😳
I love that you noticed that. It’s only because things like that occur to me when I’m watching and it doesn’t sit right with me - I love a bit of realism in the right places!
You, irma la dulce, lloyd asmr, you're all gaining fast. Before you know it, you'll be the next Maria (gentle whispering, seen as the god mother of asmr). You're doing great, and love the style and versatility (you play a good kind doctor AND play a good villain as ell lol.
*enjoying the Laudanum* Your eyes are fascinating indeed as well, Siri 🎉 I love the slight Munsters/addams family vibes here; i love the happy happy look when applying the leeches 😂 (They slurp 30min but i bleed 10h after? Fascinating!) And also the laudanum part. "Great stuff. Doctor wants you to take it. You take it?" *very serious look* (apparently i agree) *friendly look* Phew! 😅 Whats the thing with night air in the beginning? (If i understood correctly)
Thank you! I always like to do a little research! Leeches produce an strong anticoagulant to help them feed which is why it takes a while to stop bleeding when they finish. They believed that taking going out at night could cause illness (as well as bad air - simply air that smells bad, something Florence Nightingale ascribed to). Also, you were able to buy Laudanum from the tobacconist and barbers back in the day without prescription - it was cheap and accessible. The Victorians were a wild bunch!
@@SirimiriASMR thank you! and yes, they were uh.. full of industry smog and funny drugs, werent they 🫠 I also found interesting that too much sitting and anger were mentioned 😄
yes yes yes yes all of this entire video in my eyes immediately 👁👄👁 i absolutely love this type of aesthetic goodnight now, im going to pretend im a darkest dungeon adventurer returning from an unsuccessful run
@@SirimiriASMR darkest dungeon asmr would be my absolute dream. im still mad about how disappointing darkest dungeon 2 was but oh well, theres always the original, plus the very active modding community :)
That was so good. If you do a similar theme video with jumper cables and a turkey baster, i’ll delete all the other asmr artists on my playlists. Keep up the greatness. -✌️❤
Delightful theme for this video! Wow, that's quite a slug of the laudanum :) Most books or movies I've seen/read administer it in drops, e.g. in From Hell the older guy has quite a habit so he pours a dash in his wine glass, but when preparing a drink for his next victim, he carefully measures in droplets 1, 2, 3, 4, 5...

You're fast becoming one of my favourite ASMR'tists. You're blessed with such an amazing voice, so much potential.
That’s very kind, thank you!
Same.
I love Victorian era history so this is very cool to see for asmr
Thank you!
Oh lord, these were dark times for medicine. 😱
I love your videos

When I looked into it they were often returned to the river once they were full up so don’t feel too bad - a decent meal then back home!
@@SirimiriASMR That’s good then😀
I'm so glad to see this - I loooove Victorian-setting ASMR, and I've been soothing my ferocious anxiety via your vids for a while now! Awesome work.
Thank you - glad I can help!

I have a medical video from a different time period coming out in a couple of weeks, hopefully that will be just as relaxing!
What a relaxing combo of pseudoscience and science. I am LOVING your channel. OMG your accent.
Thank you so much!
Laundnam I’m fine with but that other stuff you can keep!
Enough Laudanum and you wouldn’t care 😆
This is different and very cool. Victorian era is a very interesting piece of history.
I don’t fancy any of these remedies personally!

Have been leeched on my legs before during a hike but imagining the leeches on my neck... ooo that's a chill down the spine (maybe that's a tingle 😆)
Yikes!
Your videos help me a lot to focus at work!
keep it up with the good work!
Greetings from Brazil!
Thank you!
I always think of the Aubrey/Maturin books when I hear of laudanum.
Set in the same century!
Loved this...great research. Perhaps the use of a quill or nibbed pen with an inkwell rather than a modern job......picky I know!!
It is a nibbed pen in the video 😀
I love anything Victorian ❤ wonderful creativity and graphics🌤

Are these real leeches??
No but they are from a company who makes them for LARP so they are very realistic!
Wow . This is so different to anything i have seen . Was great .Thank you so much . Feeling chilled now.

As a non English speaker, learnt a new word today - Laudanum
It's not a word, it's a proper noun, a name for a drug- the same in every language :)
It’s a great word!
