    I've got the P229 Legion SAO and love the feel in hand. Slide weight tempers the recoil gained from the higher bore axis and it runs like a dream! Just waiting on my Vedder Lighttuck holster for it to come in!

    I bought the same Sig. 4 months ago at Auction, new in box, for $808. I love this Sig. just as much as my many Berettas. Super Pistol. :)

    Use grease instead of oil on the rails- I use Brian Enos Slide Glide Lite, and it takes the slide action from smooth, to SMOOOTH. ;-) makes a big difference! I have both the P226 and P229 Legion. I went DA/SA, then to both added a Gray Guns flat adjustable trigger, Gray Guns custom strut, with 17 or 19 lb mainspring and competition sear spring kit- takes the already great trigger and makes it AMAZING. The single action now is very close to the SAO, and the double action is smooth and with a greatly reduced pull weight. Perfect. Combine that with the fact that the optics ready legions now have the new R2 optics cut underneath the plate, which allow you to mount and RMR/Holosun without plate adaptors, and suddenly these Legions are really a solid buy and not as cringe as they used to be with the “Legion club”. Plus I LOVE the grey/green finish- black is so 2010. . . ;-)

    Just got the baby 226, P229SAO and I love it. Slide release is almost impossible to activate without a hammer but that will change just like my P220.

    Love it. The SAO system is the best that there is out of the box, and SIG does it right! However, ouch on the slide stop being used as a slide release on a empty chamber. Yikes

    Just got. Legion 229 dasa. Ordering a new slide with Romeo 1 pro red dot. Did all new springs from sig guy and flat trigger. It was great out of box. Now it’s perfect.

    Great video even though y Sig 226 SAO RX isn't a Legion but I like it a lot, I do have 3 Sig Legion guns 229, P320 X5 and P320 X Carry are all very nice guns.

    Rented one last week at the range. Sweet shooter. One thing to watch for. The safeties on that one were loose and I was able to make the hammer drop without the safety being fully down.

    • @RikkiTikkiTavi290
      @RikkiTikkiTavi290 11 місяців тому +2

      If it was a range gun then it will have had many thousands of rounds through it so not entirely surprising it might be beat up. On top of that, there is a well documented but not widely known problem with 226 SAOs where the hammer strut contacts the safety bar between the 2 switches when the slide goes all the way back and over time will loosen or even break the safety bar between the 2 switches. Both GrayGuns and the Sig Armorer have come out with an aftermarket improved hammer strut that solves the issue as well as slightly smoothing trigger pull and allowing the hammer spring to compress more perfectly. It is effective for both DA/SA and SAO p22X models.

    You carry a 1911. I can see why you did the SAO on the 226. Maybe I should have done the same. When I purchase my 229 DA SA and for someone who really loves 1911. But I couldn't help myself. I had to have it.

      How easy is the sig armorer superstrut install on the p226 legion sao? I have heard the safety needs to be disassembled because the superstrut can't clear it?

    • @RikkiTikkiTavi290

    So, you've recently reviewed the Beretta 92X and now this high-feature Sig P226. Which do you prefer and why?

    • @TheJimminiShow
      @TheJimminiShow  Рік тому

      I prefer the Sig as it fits my hand extremely well. One of the biggest factors is the placement of the the safety. It is in a 1911 position and a great spot for my thumbs. Also I prefer single action. I do carry the 90-two every now and then tho.

    • @berns_pratt

      @@TheJimminiShow I've never shot the Beretta 92, but the Sig fits me well too. However, I like the look of the Beretta over the Sig. The obvious solution is to own one of each. :)

    Are sigs worth the money? Like a 320 is $400-$500 which is a good price. But all of the 226's, 229's, and 220's are all north of $800.

    P226 Elite instead for me. That gray... i have a P220 Legion (10mm). I love it, it shoots well, it's heavy and rugged enough that I could cave in a bear skull if I missed all my shots, but that gray is so off putting to me.
