3:41 ..... correction, quite the opposite, after loosening the jam screw, turn the nut clockwise to lower the float level, counter clockwise to raise the float level.
If you look closely when I’m pointing to the idle mixture screws, you can see that spring actually does have a second spring inside it. It is difficult to see from the video. The drag strip I go to does check for that at the tech booth.
Great video, I was wondering if you can give me some advice? The transfer slots on my carb are open too far, but when I try to shut them the car won’t idle. Also my idle mixture screws don’t really do anything because of this. How do I get my rpm up? If not with idle screw? I thought about advancing the timing a little bit, but wanted to check with someone first. Any advice would be awesome. Thank you.
A little timing advancement might give you a little more rpm. The other thing I’ve heard people will do is drill a very small hole in each primary throttle blade. Very small to start, then put it back on and check to see what rpm it idles at. Increase the hole size if needed.
@@maximuswedgie5149 dont listen to him about the timing advancement, he's wrong. Look into how to tune the secondary throttle blades. Depending on your setup, you set the primaries so the idle curb screw is turned in a little bit then control the idle with the secondaries
Great video! What are you using for fuel delivery pump wise and do you have a sump in a stock tank or fuel cell? I have Carter mechanical pump and a stock tank with 3/8 sending unit and lines. We're at similar power levels and I'd like to change now if needed. I'd appreciate any advice thanks.
Thanks! The fuel pump I am running is a holley red, I like it because you don’t need a regulator. The rest is the same as you have. Stock fuel tank, 3/8 sending unit and 3/8 fuel line. Also, I have the line insulated in the engine bay.
Thanks JB! I really appreciate your positive feedback. I have checked out some of the videos of the racing at the No Name Nationals. It looks really cool. Maybe some day I’ll be there.
@@Duster_Garage if it’s something you would like to do. All us guys will get you the subs to get there. Trust me on that. You have solid content and the mopar stuff is just enough to make it happen!!👍👍👍

You’re right. I’m glad you caught that. I will put a correction in the description.
Those FST carbs are AWESOME! I have one on my 500 horse LS and it's flawless
Yeah, I really like how mine is performing so far.
You don't have to specify the HP of the engine. I'm sure everyone already thinks you're a super hero with less HP on an ls than with a gen 1 sbc
So much more involved than just sitting idle mixture.
I'm 'old school', too...I'd add a 2nd throttle return spring, if I were you.

@@Duster_Garage i’ve heard that as well, I will try that, I have a spare carb in case it goes south, thank you for the reply

Are you running hard line from tank to engine bay? What type of line in engine bay to carb? Thanks
@@kehi6608 yes, 3/8” steel line. 3/8” rubber where connecting two steel lines. The carb feed line is a Summit racing 6AN line.
Wish I could hear what you said.
You may want to bump that idle up a pinch
It looks like you have some great info for dialing in carbs but can't hear you I
Sorry, the audio is garbage with the engine running. I have to do something different in future videos.
