First of all, how lovely you both are! You were respectful and open minded. The BTS Army doesn’t expect you to love their music. It’s not for everyone, but we appreciate honesty and open mindedness. This was one of their all time most “poppy” sounding songs. But their discography is famously diverse. And their lyrics are both intricate and uplifting. I would look at Black Swan, outro :Tear, Pied Piper, and House of Cards. You won’t be sorry. Thanks for giving them a chance

To precise, the Black Swan music video is more classical. However, the song is a mixture of hip-hop, trap and pop.
This is one of their 3 english songs which is more Pop genre. But they do a lot of hip-hop, RnB, and pop. I recommend you to watch On Kinetic Manifesto Film, Fake Love, or Home. They preformed Home on the Jimmy Fallon show. I recommend.
It’s amazing how many genre’s BTS songs cover. Rock, R&B, Pop, Rap, Electronica and many more. My favorite song is Black Swan which was released in 2020 and is in mainly Korean, but has English phrases throughout (as most of their songs do). I’m baby ARMY and a 55 yr old grandmother from the United States! Their reach to different ages is unprecedented. You mentioned “who would they collaborate with” in your reaction and there’s a rather long list of western artists. Their most recent collaboration was with Coldplay in October 2021. The song is “My Universe” and hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, BTS’ 6th #1 in the past year and a half. If you’re serious about getting to know them, I would suggest you react (in this order) to “An Introduction to the Seven Members of BTSl by Ida S, then “The Most Beautiful Life Goes On” by The Asian Theory. The depth of their music catalog is unreal and they have tons of additional types of content from variety shows to travel shows. Simply put….BTS is AMAZING!

BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan in Korean which translates to bulletproof boy scouts in English. Keep in mind BTS isn't just the biggest kpop group or even the biggest boy band, they are the biggest group in the world right now period. BTS have over 250 songs that are mostly in Korean and they only have 3 fully english songs that are much more pop oriented. Actually only 1 member in BTS (RM) speaks English fluently, but some members are now taking English lessons. BTS roots are actually in hiphop and they officially debuted as a group in 2013 (and yes all 7 members are the same original members). Their music is actually quite versatile sonically and lyrically, many BTS fans actually think their songs in Korean are a lot better. BTS have collaborated with a number of artists like Coldplay, Megan Thee Stallion, Sia, Nicki Minaj, Halsey, Steve Aoki, Lauv, Lil Nas X, Zara Larsson, Charli XCX, Juice Wrld, Max, the Chainsmokers, Fall Out Boy. I would actually react to something ON kinetic manifesto film (it's a dance focused video), Fake Love, Mic Drop, or Black Swan.

The high voice you’re hearing is from one of the members called Jimin. He can sing pretty high! It’s “kpop” but a lot of their songs can include different genres. I recommend Fake love, Dionysus, and O.N if you’re into more hard hitting songs. (These songs are less “pop” sounding lol)

BTS has 7 members. 3 rappers and 4 vocalists. They have lots of solo and group songs . They have total English songs;Butter, dynamite, permission to dance and the collaboration with Coldplay. I think it would be good if you react to English songs first. The live performances are amazing. Please react to live version of them . Thank you
If they choose to react to more BTS, I think it would be good to react to a Korean song. The very few English songs they've done are good, but you can't really understand the magic of BTS until you are listening to them in their native language, singing/rapping lyrics that they wrote themselves.
They are more than a boy band. They are more than K-pop. They sing all type of music and each of them is extremely talented. Maybe you can start with Dope, and from there, explore they discography. More than 300 songs since 2013, mostly in Korean, some in Japanese and 3 in English. The 3 in English are totally different from their other music, since they wanted to make happy songs for everyone to lift spirits during the pandemic.
this is one of their songs in english and they go more with the pop genre in these 3 songs, but their discography is in fact very "varied" with the genres so i really recommend listening to their songs "on", "fake love", "blood sweat and tears" or "black swan"

Dynamite is one of their most pop sounding songs and one of 3 all-English language songs so yes, they mostly sing in Korean. As you said, they are not the usual "cookie-cutter" group you would expect, their 3 rappers are actually insane, two of them were underground rappers before joining BTS and their vocalists are not just "passable so they can hide in the crowd" but extremely talented. Believe it or not their basics are hip-hop, not pop but they can do any genre. Rock, pop, EDM, rap, neo-soul, ballads, dance, R&B, latin or jazzy sounds... Even some classical influences. You name it, they have it. I understand that non of these are the type of music you generally listen to so I appreciate your opinion about their music, it was honest. It's not everybody's cup of tea but you can still be respectful. Thank you for your reaction and if you decide to continue reacting to them, maybe try Black Swan, ON (the Kinetic Manifesto Film version) and the Cyphers Medley Live from the rappers just to get a glimps of how extremely diverse these guys really are.
They have mainly gotten their solid fanbase from their Korean songs. They have a base in hiphop but they do many different genres. The themes are taken from arts, philosophy, psychology and social context. It is hard to explain but you will find them when you need them. Mostly not played on radio and Spotify you need to pay to get playlisted , which they don't do. So the biggest group in the world is not mainstream.

I think they kind of went all out with the typical catchy pop sound as this was their full English debut song! They actually have 3 rappers in the group.
The only concert I've ever been to was Iron Maiden so it's clear to say that I'm mainly a metalhead myself and I've recently gone on a journey down the BTS rabbit hole. My first introduction to BTS was the collaboration they did with Coldplay, you should definitely check it out.

I don't think dynamite is the best first impression for people who have no idea what bts or kpop is, couse this is just a song bts released to have fun with and it doesn't show their whole potential in dance and rap or even vocals! It's not right to define them in a pop category by just one and their first ever official English song . Dynamite is the actual image Americans have over what kpop is, like just random pop songs with no impressive meaning, which don't get me wrong is an amazing catchy genre and i absolutely love it, but I'm saying bts is a lot more than this

more bts please. they are an amazing band to discover. there’s so much to see and know, unlike any other group out there. from the breadth of their discography that spans multiple genres (they started off as a hip hop group), their unbelievable showmanship, their humanitarianism, their underdog history, to the connection with their fans (army) they continuously foster, you’ll understand why they are fiercely supported and loved. their largest demographic is over the age of 30, that should tell you something (i’m a 52 yo punk/goth to rockabilly chick). check out “on kinetic manifesto film”, “fake love”, “black swan”, but maybe an intro like xceleste’s “this is bts” or even better “a most beautiful life goes on: a story of bts” by the asian theory is good start off with first. army will come to watch you discover them 100% if you’re game and we sit through long videos with pleasure. hope you go for it!

As you probably know, I'm a huge fan of BTS, and I feel like I need to clear up a misconception that some people have about them.
While it's true that BTS is an incredibly talented group of musicians, singers, and dancers, they are so much more than that. They are artists in every sense of the word. Their music speaks to people all over the world, and their message of love, self-acceptance, and social awareness is more important now than ever before.
BTS is a group that has worked hard to break down barriers and stereotypes, and they have done so with incredible grace and humility. They are not just entertainers, they are activists, advocates, and role models for millions of people.

FYI kpop doesn't mean Korean pop, it means Korean popular music you can find lots of different genre of music in kpop such as rock, R&b, hip hop etc. Bts is also with lost of different style and genre in their music. You look at dynamite with a light and up beat melody and then you watch black swan or fake love and you're like, are they the same band??I'm sure you're ganna love them if you give them a chance. I'm happy you're open minded about it and willing to understand. It's just the beginning , you'll understand more as you watch them more .thks♡♡

I will only say one point, don't judge the music of BTS with one song. They have every genre for everyone.

The feminin voice u heard would be Jimin, he has a very unique and soft voice. All of their songs are Korean with few of English lyrics but they have released just 3 songs for now that is full English which includes the one u guys heard. They have different genres of music.

The best thing about bts is that their discography is extremely versatile, having songs that are more rock based, others that are more pop based, others that are rap based, so on and so forth. That being said, it’s fine to not fully vibe with any of their songs because most likely, they’ll have something that suits your tastes better. I’m a metalhead as well, so I’ll offer some songs that I adore from these guys.

The three newest songs in English were written by someone else and are much more pop than any of their other work. Permission to Dance was written by Ed Sheeran. The work they write themselves is much deeper lyrics, the furtherest thing from pop. Black Swan is about their fear of losing their love to perform. Blood Sweat and Tears is about temptation, Spring Day is about loss or missing someone. But the video…man, when you watch the ‘Italian Army explains Spring Day’, it wrenches your heart out. That made me a fan forever. Being in Korean we need the explanation videos to understand the subtleties of the lyrics, but it’s worth it.
As far as embracing feminine features, you’ll have to see how they started in 2013 as a rap heavy hip hop group. Bulletproof is a good start.

It's nice to see other British people listening to BTS! I also wondered how I had never heard them before, despite them being so big. I (an indie/rock fan) also found it very different at first, especially with the dancing, which we don't really see in Western music as much. Now I am a huge ARMY (BTS fan), which is kinda my guilty pleasure. Their music covers a lot of genres and styles, not just pop.
You are absolutely right that they are close. They have lived together since their debut in 2013 and are like a family. A huge part of their life is recorded through vlogs, game shows and interviews, so it is very easy to fall in love with their personalities, even if you don't love their music. I would recommend watching funny moments compilations.

I'm a big metal head. I watch your stuff mainly for those reactions, but K-pop has been my "Guilty pleasure" since about 2016, when I first started listening to BTS. To me it's always been a bit like salty and sweet for my music taste, metal and k-pop. Oddly enough I know a lot of metal heads that listen to it. I would say for some recommendations, BTS you can't really miss with any of their title tracks on youtube, but if you want more of a rock/metal vibe with K-pop check out Dream Catcher. They're a girl group with a lot of rock elements that a lot of metal reactors seem to enjoy.
If you are into more rock/metal vibes check out Dionysus. That’s a banger!

Well Dynamite was made to bring good vibes in the early time of the pandemic but the thing is BTS doesn't have a type of music that they make you know one of the reasons of why their fandom is so big and dynamic is because there's music to every genre we have: edm, rock, hip-hop(mostly), disco, pop, jazz, eletronic, R&B and more so it would be nice if you react to more music of them it's ok not to like one music that isn't your style but you haven't even come close about what their music is about and what they stand for. And there's 7 members ok 4 vocalist and 3 rappers in korea they usually have a big number of members but 7 is average there i mean i liked your reaction but it would be nice if you guys gave them a real feedback after really listened to their music after all as ARMYs( the name of the fandom) always say BTS isn't your typical boyband, you guys don't know but BTS is an bigger issue than you think not just to the music industry but millions of people around the globe and yes they made a lot of colaborations with westerns artists already nowdays most of artists want to make a collab with them because making a collab with BTS it's like you know that your music it's gonna top the charts and more, well that my opinion thanks guys.

You can try On, Dionysus, Black swan, dis-ease. Totally different vibes than dynamite. BTS does different genres. Dynamite was a fun, poppy song with feel good vibes. If I may suggest, try black swan next for a complete change in style and aesthetics.

"K-pop" is an industry that has multiple genres within it, much like American Pop or British pop - "pop" just means "popular music." BTS is made up of seven different members with widely varied tastes in music, different tones (vocalists) and different rap styles (rappers). The group members also all participate in the music making process - some write lyrics, some write beats and produce, etc. As a result, the BTS discography is wide and varied, and they are not afraid to try new things. They have done it over and over throughout their almost 11 years since debut. As member SUGA once said, "You'll like BTS music if you listen without prejudice." You guys are off to a good start.
Maybe you need to see another type of BTS song, since they have more than 300. And they are a group that goes through different styles, with concept albums, being creators of their contents or co-creators. (Dancers, lyrics and music writers and producers) If you can see beyond Dynamite.....there is so much more! Mic Drop, ON kinetic Manifesto Film, Dope, Fire, Fake love ....
