7:37 Thats a crazy interaction! You can do enough damage to KO pickachu ex, then switch into klefki before Pickachu's ability activates to save itself. Definitely something to keep note of while playing IRL
@@Smucklz It makes sense, "effects of attacks before checking Pokemon for K.O.s" but the fact that the 'Mon you swap in applies its ability is very spicy
28:48 was a very interesting turn and interaction. Scizor was dealing 260 dmg enough to ohko Iron thorns. My assumption is that the opponent did not have a metal energy in hand so they had to draw cards. To draw cards they had to play the canceling cologne to use their draw abilities, but because they played canceling cologne they removed an ability in play. This means that they where only doing 210 dmg which isn’t enough to ohko iron thorns, because of this they had to use boss to get 2 prizes for the 2-2-2 path
Did you notice that you were able to one shot pikachu because you moved klefki into the active spot? Would have been a nice callout, not sure if people noticed or not
@@XxylightningyxX I think maybe, Flygon needs to finish its action first before pika could do his, and by the time to activate its ability a klefkie was already in play. just my thoughts
@@thinkinginsideout4053so as a yugioh player I think I can clear this up, what we have here is a “chain link” and the order goes in 1st last, and everything else higher comes first, so, in this instance, pikachu is chain link one, flygon is chain link 2, and Klefki is chain link 3 so pikachu does activate and resolve but only after klefki is out which basically negates pikachu
This deck is absolutely absurd in expanded, since you have access to korrina (fighting type Irida) and walls like lillie's pokedoll. Really really nice deck and definitely curious about it in standard too

Guys, today I made a Regi-drago deck concede with my half-baked Gardevoir ex deck😁. Klefky's ability lock helped against there draw engine and I guess my Arven evo combo pissed them off. @TheManFaceMan-21 you don't attack with ogerpon in almost all scenarios, it's there because you can use energy switch to move the teal dance energies to regidrago to power it up faster
the deck is nice and fun, I don't miss a single one. I have however found Unfair Stamp useless as I never need to use it. I preferred to replace it with maximum belt to knock out Pokémon with 300+ hp with 2 hits, as well as slaking with 1 hit.
Right?? I also notice. I think it's because Flygon got to swap with Klefki first, then Klefki's ability cancel out Pikachu's ability which is interesting.
the flygon switches before the ko is calculated so by the time it's calculated klefki or tyranitar is active so at that point pikachu ex ability is turned off
Not entirely sure, but my guess is that Flygon retreating went off first so he switched into klefki meaning Pikachu now doesn't have any abilities causing him to not be able to withstand the ohko.
at first i was like "wait, miraidon should still work with iron thorns...?" but then i realized; the miraidon people play predates the ancient/future tags, so it doesn't count!
I’ve played quite a few matches with this deck and overall it’s pretty solid. It does have an MAJOR achilles heal. If you are playing against a deck that has Pidgeot EX and they are able to evolve into Pidgeot EX prior to you being able to block its ability with Iron Thorns EX you will almost certainly lose. Flygon’s attack is too weak to deal with a competent player that has access to their entire deck each turn. Unfortunately a significant amount of decks incorporate Pidgeot EX.
It can sometimes feel slow to set up but this deck can actually come back after going behind in prizes. Admitedly its a slow comeback but as the game goes on and your opponent uses resources gusting around the active, or discarding energy to retreat.. The match swings in your favour. Your strategy is simple and strong start to finish.
I've been having a blast with this deck as well. So happy that my favourite Pokémon is actually playable. Now, if Kommo-o gets something playable in the future, I think I'll be able to die happy. XP
