Severn Valley Railway Autumn Steam Gala 2022

The 2022 Autumn Steam Gala on the Severn Valley Railway, held from 15th to 18th September 2022, featured visiting loco's WSR mogul 9351 (converted from ex-GWR large prairie tank 5193), ex-LMS Black Five 45231 'Sherwood Forester' and Hunslet saddle tank 'Jessie'. The event also featured the return to service of ex-GWR Hall class 4-6-0 No. 4930 'Hagley Hall' after a major overhaul that included the manufacture of new cylinders. West Country pacific 34027 'Taw Valley' again appears in Platinum Jubilee purple livery as 70 'Elizabeth II', but this time carries black painted nameplates as a mark of respect to the late Queen Elizabeth II, whose state funeral was held on the Monday following the gala.
Resident loco's 43106, 7714 and 1501 are also seen working freight and local passenger trains on the southern section of the line.

I forget the occasion (anniversary of the Flying Scotsman, the train; not the much later locomotive?), but I once wrote to GNER suggesting the temporary adoption of 'teak' scumble on one of their trains and apple green for the loco (not the DVT). I was rather charmed that the suggestion was not met with a 'No' and that it was actually answered, and in a rather intriguing way. Of course it never happened and GNER went back to its containers.
