----- Joseph Frank Keaton (October 4, 1895 - February 1, 1966),[2] known professionally as Buster Keaton, was an American actor, comedian, film director, producer, screenwriter, and stunt performer.[3] He is best known for his silent films, in which his trademark was physical comedy with a consistently stoic, deadpan expression that earned him the nickname "The Great Stone Face".[4][5] Critic Roger Ebert wrote of Keaton's "extraordinary period from 1920 to 1929" when he "worked without interruption" on a series of films that make him "the greatest actor-director in the history of the movies".[5] His career declined afterward with a loss of artistic independence when he signed with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, his wife divorced him, and he descended into alcoholism. He recovered in the 1940s, remarried, and revived his career as an honored comic performer for the rest of his life, earning an Honorary Academy Award in 1959.
Many of Keaton's films from the 1920s remain highly regarded, such as Sherlock Jr. (1924), The General (1926), and The Cameraman (1928),[6] with The General widely viewed as his masterpiece.[7][8][9] Among its strongest admirers was Orson Welles, who stated that The General was cinema's highest achievement in comedy, and perhaps the greatest film ever made.[10] Keaton in 1996 was recognized as the seventh-greatest film director by Entertainment Weekly,[11] and the American Film Institute ranked him in 1999 as the 21st greatest male star of classic Hollywood cinema.[12] - Комедії
"Buster, you know this could very easily kill you?"
"Thats fine, run it"
He had been told his movie studio would shut down the day earlier so he just did not care if he died
@@somm150 cant tell if you're joking or not
Edit. Holy crap, that's true. That house piece weighed two tons. "Easily killed him" is almost an understatement. Half the crew walked off set, not wanting to see him get killed, if it went wrong. Well, that's depressing. Good thing he had a great, long career after surviving this. Your's should be the top comment.
It's scary to think that if this stunt went wrong, we would be witnessing this man's demise. Buster Keaton had nerves of freaking steel.
this is actually the third take. On the first two takes, the house fell on Buster Keaton and he died.
@@_mnl_ What a legend!

There will never be another buster keaton
0:42 the cameraman fainted. At the “this is your life” buster keaton episode they met with people there that day and yep. The cameraman fainted and fell back when the house frame came down.
He was also a great athlete. I love watching those old comics. Thanks for posting.
Jackie Chan was heard to say, “RESPECT”.
One of Jackie‘s heroes

I always wondered if that’s Keaton making the jump at :24. The sudden shock of black hair and potentially fatal nature of the stunt definitely makes me think so.
