It only matters when you're playing lead guitar.
Or if you let your Led out 🎸
You win the internet today! 🤣🏆
Best dad joke this year
So…… wait…. Does that make rhythm guitar UNleaded ?🤔🧐
Lead on McDuff
Counterfeit. That’s the word we need to use. Counterfeit. It is meant to steal the goodwill and name of another company.
Thank you. Im so tired of modern euphemisms.
terrible, it really is. can't wait to spend $18,000 on a new gibson after i finish this video.
Cry baby. That’s the word we need to use. Cry baby. It is meant to cry about someone who doesn’t agree with your childish crybaby brain. lol 😂
@@alvaroquijano579 well, if Gibson wants to charge that, they can. They've earned it. If you want a cheap knockoff, buy one from many brands, but trying to pass it off as a 'Gibson' is the problem I think most people have with counterfeits. If the Chibson buyers hate Gibson so much, why do they want their logo on it? Stupid.
@@shreddershane240 yeah that's true. buying a brand you hate is ridiculous. i wouldn't. i only see the point in buying unobtainable guitars that are not being built anymore and/or cost waaaay too much. i won't spend the rest of my life wanting to play something that looks like an eet fuk simply because esp refuses to build more of them (through no fault of their own). it doesn't hurt their earnings in anyway either. if anything it hurts the guy selling it for 40k on reverb (which you only find once every blue moon)
Hell back in my day you used to get a lead bar in your lunch to chew on for a snack. I turned out just f f f fi ff fffffi fine!
People worry too much these days. I’ve been drinking water out of lead pipes in a house with lead paint on the walls all my life, and I’ve never had any flibbertigibbet rutabaga ping-pong glockenspiel
From Leo: I am not too concerned about the minimal levels that are exposed. Anyone over 50 spent their childhoods brushing their teeth every day with toothpaste that was in Lead/tin tubes. That was direct ingestion. Medical creams were in lead tubes. We would save the old tubes and melt them down to make things from the metal. We built model airplanes and other hobbies with glue in Lead tubes. We lived in lead painted houses, and most did not let the kids eat window sills. Now we are all ingesting microplastics. Big difference between a detectable level and a therapeutic level.
No consequences from any of that???
And now the majority of the population dies from cancer. The cancer rates are through the roof these days.
Weren't fishing line sinkers made of lead, or at least partially?
yes and they still are. @@GoonSquadLifeMember
I just got burned for a fake ebony SG.
A Chibson Ibanez is a Chibanez of course
As someone who also played with lead-based toy soldiers in his youth, it's not that big a deal. My dad is a doctor, who specialises in occupational and environmental medicine, and - even though he only works a couple of days a week now - his still his company's "go-to" guy for cases involving heavy metal toxicity (not the gatekeepy music fanbase), and he never batted an eyelid at that. I can't recall the exact wording, but it was somethign along the lines of "unless you start eating them, there won't even be a detectable rise in a blood test, never mind any cognitive symptoms"
I think Phil has it right. Nothing wrong with an off brand strat so long as it is being represented as that and not something else. I have no issue with a replica so long as it can be identified as what it actually is.
Hell, some people prefer how Ibanez or PRS or Yamaha make them
If you have any doubt about about the authenticity of a gibson guitar, insist the seller remove the truss rod cover. If there's no brass nut and you only find a black hole, it's FAKE. Easy peasy ✌
Made in US doesnt mean its better. But it does mean its more expensive.
Back in the 60's I use to make my own toy soldiers with lead
WITH lead is a better description than FROM lead, as the addition of lead (.015 - .035 %) to various alloys enable them to be machined/formed much easier, and therefore cheaper. These alloys are still in use, and not just in China. You will find these alloys in nearly everything you own that has screws, nuts, bolts or other machined parts made from steels. If manufacturers were forced to stop using them, then consumers would be footing the bill for the wear and tear less machinable alloys place on tooling, not to mention the increased energy costs involved as the machines would have to work harder. It adds up. The "lead-hysteria" began with kids snacking on lead-based paints, and then spread to every item in our world which contains lead.
@Dale - Thanks for the info!
Technically Epiphones are chibsons….
Indeed. Overpriced ones at that
@@harmlesscreationsofthegree1248 stupid overpriced.. like these new inspired by Gibsons for $1500 😂 only a idiot would buy that… and I’m sure there are some
Lead used to be in *everything!* Paint dried quicker and looked better. Cosmetics had it for similar reasons since antiquity. Gasoline had Tetraethyl lead to help avoid engine knock and to lubricate valves. It floors me that leaded gas was finally banned in the US in *1996!*
Trolls have tried to justify bying fake guitars and debate with me all the time telling everyone how great they (Chibsons)are..... NOT lol.
Hey Phil why did Strandberg discontinue the Tru Temperment fret guitars.
With no actual company to be accountable, why would they care if lead (or worse) was in the instrument.
Whats worse than lead? The only thing I can think of is Fentynol.
@@OttophilMercury, arsenic, cadmium, asbestos.........and all are potentially found in electric guitars, especially older imports.
Bravo-thank you.
as a child my diet in 1970 mainly consisted of asbestos and lead
Puts hair on your chest.
And unfrosted Pop Tarts
Thanks bro, you’re a legend
I bought one and I call it The Fraudcaster. I keep it in a buddies basement to grab and jam when we get tanked up a little want to make some noise. It's a 335 copy and has held up fine for the 4 or 5 years I've had it. Works fine for that and I don't miss it or worry about it when I'm not playing it or looking at it.
I find the Chibsons make me a bit paranoid that what I'm being offered is a fake - they've got so good that it's real hard to tell sometimes from construction details. Fortunately the copies still let things down with fret leveling, setups, truss rod etc Usually they don't spend the time to get these right.
I have two fake left handed PRS models, bought before Paul offered lefty models, completely gutted and rebuilt with genuine PRS parts. I had a tough time finding left handed bridges. Don't hate, this was the only way I had.
We need a debate video between you and Fulton Street Beats.
I just did a fret dress on a Chinese Squire Tele and the frets were horrible. They were soft and very hard to dress. It almost felt like they were crumbling under the fret file and it was difficult to get any kind of polish on them. Lead content??
I grew up drinking from the hose and putting lead paint on my cereal... Yet, here I am...
It causes brain damage resulting in a lower IQ. Yes here you are.
If i solder steel or nickelsilver strips on tops of worn frets - will they be considered lead contaminated ?
@iridios - YOU would definitely be considered "lead contaminated"! LOL!
@@rb032682
why me ?
What about the Epiphones and others that are made in Chyna?
Epiphone Quindoa facility is American owned and operated with American and Asian luthiers so epiphone isn't in the Chinese category
Hi Philip 🙂 RJ Guitars is actually an old company in the Philippines since the 80s.., yeah the guitars weren't that great back then 😅 but I hear their new models are pretty good for the price 🤔
A lot of us old guitar players from Manila started with RJ Guitars in the 90s.., the finish would crack bcoz of our country's heat, pickups would whistle on high gains, switches would always break down 😅 but we still had a lot of fun jamming GnR, Nirvana, and Metallica covers on our RJ guitars back then ❤😊
Anyway, I really appreciate your videos! More blessings to you! 🤘😊
Counterfeit guitars are the scourge of the guitar world. And I hate it when dudes hide behind the excuse that they will "never" sell it. As if they're going to be buried with it. As if most guitars dont outlive their owners. As if they'll have any control or say about where it ends up after their family sells it off. If they truly had no intention of fooling people, they'd stamp fake on it or take the fake logo off entirely. They're absolutely out to fool people.
Absolutely. If they weren’t out to deceive people, why are they hiding behind the Gibson name? Would they sell if the headstock said Chan or Eng?
Just as often they are out to fool themselves. They want to believe it’s almost as good as the real thing.
Wow, you are an alarmist of the highest order.. .settle tf down.. I've owned a chibson or two... and NO, you don't sell them.. You need to grow up little Joey McTriggered
All those words and yet I have an absolutely beautiful fake Gibson Les Paul hanging on my wall that brings me great joy. Playing pretend still works even as an adult. If Gibson is still around when I die, they'll require 20 years of the average wage buy one. And they'll have lawyer drones to find my fake one and vaporize it. I'm really not worried.
When I build a partscaster and use a fender neck I removed fender from the head stock, I don't want that guitar sold as a real fender
I have a couple of IYV LPs , several firefly LPs and while these are some great copys, they don't come as close in feel, looks and quality that my chibson cherry burst standard has, your just not going to find
a better budget guitar for the price, I paid $226 delivered to my door, the chibson LP with it's one piece body and one piece neck, perfect fret job, excellent sounding pickups, nitro finish and set up to play right out of box, totally impressed me, I had planned to upgrade the guitar and I did put some locking tuners, because I didn't like the color, this guitar didn't require any upgrades, no mods or work needed, can't say the same for my other budget guitars,if you don't like the logo just paint over it,these are fine playing guitars, there's nothing wrong with getting your dream guitar, while you save up for a real one, you might end up not having to buy the expensive one.
I have two Chibsons. One I bought not knowing what it was. I know now that if you see a LP guitar from China with the headstock hidden in the photos it will likely say Gibson. I got it because it was $124 bucks shipped. My second one was just me looking for broken guitars cheap to fix, and I got a Buckethead Chibson for less than a hundred bucks with a broken headstock. It was an easy fix.
Now the Buckethead vs the first one I got is night and day. That Buckethead one... I swear if I shook it hard enough the frets would fall out. It was just so poorly done all around. The other one is fine. Plays good, and no obvious issues. Of course in the case of the Buckethead I was literally looking for cheap guitars to practice working on. I just did not expect it to be so bad when my first experience was so good.
I'm still waiting on a custom to show up, so if that goes well, I'll probably get a custom one every year. Things like an Washburn EC29 or a GEM that is a neck through. With my own logo on the headstock. Something you just don't see on the shelf, or is insanely out of my price range.
In my part of California chibsons are being sold for 600-700 on Facebook marketplace and Craigslist which is wild and those are from "honest" sellers I'm sure there are a lot more fakes out there going for a lot more.
It costs more money to make a gibson style guitar than a normal bolt on neck style instrument. And if you're going for the ripoff gibson look, they have to use better pieces of wood and get most of the little details right, like hardware and binding. On top of that, there is freight and import taxes which is factored into those prices you see online. The asking prices make sense when you consider everything
@@Hobinator17you’d think/hope that if they can make them that could, they’d just take the next step and slap their own logo on the headstock and take a little more pride in their product.
@@60CycleSteve well then there's the issue of marketing, which gets very expensive. Plenty of other well known brands already make gibson-esque dual HB guitars that sell well and have dozens of youtube reviews/demos. Chibson brands are trying to look as much as the real deal as possible. It's a fraud after all. There really isnt a way to do that and ship it to the USA for under $700-800, these days that is.
@@Hobinator17 a lot of the import brands that have done well have done it with minimal marketing expense. Firefly, IVY, etc. managed to be the hot new thing on Amazon which a lot of creators will buy out of pocket because Amazon’s affiliate program is decent. I’m looking at Aliexpress and seeing the knockoffs on there are majority under $300 with free shipping.
Whoever is making the counterfeits could do it legitimately and keep their costs relatively low. There’s always been a rumor that the same brands that exist as “legit import” brands on Amazon are lending their expertise to the counterfeit market as well. Whether or not that’s true, well, I really have no idea.
People handle lead all the time without any harm. It all just depends on the particular circumstances.
If you're worried about it you can test the lead level in your body for some peace of mind.
It's really not as big of a deal as people like to make it.
Not that it doesn't pose a risk, just that people tend to blow it out of proportion.
The frets on my glarry strat wore down in 6 months- something weird with that I think...
One thing I would be really careful of if you have a collection of real Gibsons. One fake one in your collection is going to call into question the provenance of any of your real ones when your collection gets sold. There are enough of these are there, they will have in impact of the value of this era's Gibson's anyway, just due to uncertainty. People will say "oh, this is a fake" even when it isn't.
I got burned
I had a Chibson LP guitar for sale on Facebook marketplace. It’s the most interest I’ve got from selling a guitar there. The guy that bought it came from 3 hours away.
I sent a Chinese Chibson builder a picture of the red guitar PRS made for Eddie Van Halen. They did a great job copying it. $300 shipped. I still have it. I replaced the electronics with real EVH gear and the crappy Floyd Rose is next. Otherwise it’s a great guitar.
I had a 60 Teisco guitar a few years back. Guarantee it had lead somewhere on it. Hey Phil, bring back sharpen my axe!
I prefer the term "Fibson," personally. Instead of the catch-all "Chibson" phrase implying it's from China, it could be from anywhere.
It doesn't mean that a lot of counterfeits "don't" come from China, of course. Many do.
Couldn't agree with you more
Exactly, I don't give a damn if it says Burny, Greco or whatever on the headstock as it is its own thing. A copy, sure, but not deceptive like a Chibson trying to be passed off as a Gibson
I find it interesting how we judge the value of guitars with bone nuts, stainless steel frets, and full-size pots. How much could those items actually cost manufacturers to include on a guitar?
If I could buy the guitars I want then I wouldn't need to buy direct from China. For example a left handed 335 with open book headstock, small block inlays in cherry red for under £650. The model is not available from Epiphone at any price so I bought one direct from China. They don't offer the models and they are overcharging people. What do they expect?
How can you tell if the frets are actually stainless? Bite test again?
Stainless is non magnetic .
@@TheSavagederek The stainless frets on offer that I’ve owned from big names do hold a magnet. So I think there’s still a higher mix of ferrous materials in guitar frets. That’s what makes it so hard to judge I think.
@@tonepilot Stainless steel isn't magnetic, so if a magnet has taken hold , they must have some carbon steel in them .
@@TheSavagederek I double checled with a strong magnet. Out of the six guitars with stainless frets, two had a slight pull to them and four didn’t. Out of the four, two were Fender frets and two were from a refret using stainless frets. So, I believe you are right. I also believe there may be different grades of stainless. The two that had a slight pull were a Parker and a Harley Benton.
@@tonepilot I'd be genuinely interested to see whether the ones that have some carbon in the steel wear faster . Having said that , my US Strat is 25 yrs old and I've dressed them once on all those years playing , so even Nickle Silver take a while to wear out , unless you are playing loads of gigs a year as well as practice . String type and the amount of bending and vibrato you use and how hard you compress the string , will also have an effect .
There’s always been lead in frets, not all frets, but nickel alloy frets have lead in them, enough to test the swabs positive but not enough to hurt you. I have a chibson, I sanded back the headstock to a natural finish and used clear lacquer on that. Sanded off the fake serial too. Players great, satisfies the Les Paul itch, but won’t ever result in someone being scammed.
Confucious say . Man with 10 children , wants no lead in his pencil 😂
I bought two Chibsons they need a lot of work. You have to replace pick ups and frets are junk there are so many good guitars you can buy that are ready to go and not waste money on this crap. It was fun it’s fun to have to experiment but in the end not really worth it
Unscrew the back plate and look at the electronics.
No one will wire cheap stuff to it like chibsons
The guy who was pissed at being sold a fake guitar wasn't too bothered about the guy's wife getting ripped off
replicas are just that.....chibsons are . they are good enough to warrant scriutiny
I don’t understand why someone will buy one of those for $400 and then puts another $400-$500 into them to make them playable when you can buy a used Studio and a Duncan pickup for the same money.
I see your point, but for some people, it is the fun of researching customized parts and installing them. Individualizing a guitar. Or upgrading in steps as one can afford it.
Mine was 225, and I don't plan on spending more than 150 more to spruce it up. It's breathtakingly gorgeous.
@@cremedelamemesupreme1649 yeah the paper photographs that they use for the caps are breathtaking lol almost looks like real wood…
I'm a one man shop. I designed a footstool in the 90's. Won an award for it. Made 5 my first year. The following year you could buy My design, made in Indonesia in Target. Didn't make a dime.
Lead guitar or LEAD guitar?!
A "Fake Chibson" is a "Real Gibson"? Isn't Chipson already a fake?
Exactly. I was looking for a comment like this before I posted my own.
My strong feelings about real Gibsons: Gibson is the entire reason I now play a Chinese made Les Paul. I could only spend that kind of money on a guitar once, and Gibson royally blew it.
I could have had 2 new Fender Strats instead of the brand new Gibson Les Pretzel.
Yep, fake trademarked goods are frauds. The guitar market is so bad they are all over the place. Also, these fakes are showing with names like Epiphone and Fender Squire (MIJ models) - again targeted models. At least when you get taken with a fake lower end guitar the monetary pain isn't as bad, but the idea of getting "burned" on any axe is a pisser!
Gibson=chibson, fender=chender, ibanez= chibanez...Charvel?
i bet a lot of older american mades are also full of lead
Oatley glasses
Chibson guitar makers aren't the fraudsters the resellers are.
When the guitar is originally sold the buyer knows it's fake...
Hoping to find a real Chibson some day
We were exposed to lead and mercury a lot as children maybe that's why my picking speed sucks LOL
There are fake Chibsons now?
Unless your going to chew on the bobbins of the 1970s Ibanez guitar you wont have a problem.
RJ Guitars just lied on the price. None on Amazon, certainly none at $99.
Check out the nice guitar from rj pls
Pretty sure it was the branding a “fake” episode, that made me an avid viewer of yours, Phil.
Lead ingestion!!! Thats what messed me up. Now i know.
Yep,the old pressure tactic to get you to buy something without doing your homework. As long as you or kids eat the paint chips. The Urban Gentry will buy a fake Rolex and make a video with taking a hammer to it and smashing it to bits at the video's end.
I only buy the genuine chibsons, the fake ones just aren’t worth it in my opinion.
Lead frets? Let is so soft the strings would dig into the frets easily. I have had Chibsons and none had lead frets. I am surprised even though they are making counterfreits I am surprised they have lead frets.
Small additions of other metals make lead harder. Battery lead, for example.
Or it could be an ordinary fret alloy heavily contaminated with lead.
That's because they probably don't. Research the "test" method he used.
@@rocknewtonfilsterwilly7364
Did you have a link ?
@@iridios6127 Alloy yes, I can see that but not pure lead.

In terms of health, I think there is no difference 50-99% of lead is equally harmful if found where it shouldn't be.
if your worried about lead, just wash your hands after playing and dont act like Rudy Sarzo playing bass
I wonder if your Rudy Sarzo reference flew over a lot of heads (I got it)?
I don't have an issue with Chibson guitars floating around out there, my problem is with some of the people that buy them. There are a variety of people that buy a Chibson. One type isn't able to afford the Gibson, or the Epiphone, so they buy a Chibson. No problem with those folks. Another type will constantly tell everyone that the only reason people buy Gibson guitars are for the name on the headstock, but then these clowns buy a Chibson, which has the same Gibson name on the headstock lol. Typically when you check out their profiles, they're big "made in USA" and "screw China" guys, so basically the worst kind of hypocrites lol. The final type are the people who buy them with the goal of selling them and misrepresenting what they're selling to fool people. I absolutely hate people like that. I actually met up with one of those mouth breathers because you couldn't tell it was a fake from the limited, poor quality pics, but once I saw it in person I knew this dude was passing off a fake. I seriously wanted to kick the shit out of him for having wasted my time. He was smart and took the guitar and left without saying another word.
I own real Gibsons, and I buy Chibsons. Some people might prefer the Epiphones I just never jived with the necks on any Epiphone I've tried. and I'm just taking a break from buying USA guitars until things smooth out. I hate to beat the dead horse about USA QC, but it is what it is. My most recent experience with Fender USA is really what pushed me toward trying the Chinese replicas again. I purchased one of the Fender Stories Collection 54 Virginia Strat, new from Sweetwater. This is a $2800 Strat. It came to me with buffing compound still on the back, strings misaligned, absolutely 0 setup on it, nut was cut poorly, enough relief in the neck you could see a visable strong downward bow, mismatched strings (.13 strung in both 2nd and 3rd slots), other small issues I noticed in the finish and assembly.. it just looked like it was just gave the back hander special by Fender. I should have sent the guitar back, but I just really wanted that EJ Strat and the one I picked off the site had the best grain by far in their current options, So I fixed everything, and it just kinda grew on me and has mojo. With that in mind I recently gotten a 3 pickup Chibson SG Custom, that all I done was do a setup, and replaced the bridge with a Tonepros. Stock tuners, stock electronics everything else is Chibson besides the bridge, and it plays and sounds great, and I actually prefer it to my 2018 SG Standard. I have $360 in that guitar, and when I compare it to my recent $2800 Strat. It's hard to feel like I didn't take it up the ass by Fender. And it's sad that the out of the box experience of a $300 chinese guitar was leaps and bounds ahead of a pretty much $3000 strat after taxes and shipping. It's bullshit man. And I totally agree, trying to pass off a Chibson as a legitimate Gibson is lame, but like you said, when you see one in person it's usually pretty easy to tell, there will be a lot of small details that you can't really see in a photo or from a few feet off. Sometimes the issues are more glaring, just all depends on if the Chibson was purchased as an off the shelf guitar or overseen through a custom build. Chinese are starting to offer some pretty good stuff. Extremely satisfied with the SG I got from them, I've got a couple Chibson Les Pauls that are just flat out good guitars. Not as good as my 2014 Custom by any means, but for the price of admission and the options available. It's hard to argue with them.
Yeah, he said Japan.
I’ve no use for Chinson counterfeiters but Gibson union busted via their Southern relocation. That said, Corporate Branding is a strange Hustle. Lead free, small praise. I’m building via Warmoth, tired of the Music “Legacy” branding nonsense. Matt finishes and single pickups, hyped artist models, the absurdity of “Murphy” aging, not implementing stainless fret sprout free frets- hallmarks of Oligopoly. Sure, lead free.
Beany Babies until you spend 10k.
I love my gibsons
Lead or not, don’t lick your guitar and you’ll be okay.
as far as these knockoff producers are concerned, lead poisoning is a chibson feature more than problem
If it looks good and plays good and you get it dirt cheap play the hell out of it. Just don't sell it for something that it isn't.
H8 the fake!
It’s hard these days, but I try to stay away from anything from China. It’s aggravating how much of the stuff sold in the USA is imported, really aggravating!
I was surprised at the number of people unconcerned about this.
Just buy an affordable guitar that doesn't use potentially hazardous materials.
Dont uv light my guitar after i play. Cross contamination
If you're getting divorced, sell your guitars to a trusted friend for $1 each. Have him write separate checks and cash them. If your soon-to-be ex-wife goes after the guitars and the judge favors her, give her the $1.
Isn't using the body sculpture of the LP, Strat, Tele, 335 and SG a form of theft? Those are the aesthetically the finest shapes for a guitar.
I've invested in the whole collection of Chibsons, brother. With my low income, @$700/mo. which is considered below the poverty line, I only buy guitars and violins from Chinese artisans. I want the nicest instruments I can for my budget.
I have purchased their replicas of the Gibson L7c with 3-tone burst w/abalone inlay; the Johnny Smith signature with 2-tone burst: both @ $335 & $370; also the SG Custom triple/gold; an EDS 1275 double-neck, both cream white; LP Black Beauty triple; and a custom LP w/green quilted top. All the same price range; and all have full binding.
I play them through a white Marshall half stack with T.C. Elec. G-Major. I'll never sell them. I even bought the perfect copy of the Martin custom shop OM-41 w/abalone inlay. My nephew who has guitar chops out the wazoo will inherit them. I bought him a Wolf LP. They are great guitars for the money. He's a Christian and Ex-Marine, so he won't play anybody the fool if he chooses to sell them. If someone wants to lie and cheat, only to forfeit the "free gift" of "eternal life" like billions of people do every day, that's their abuse of the greatest gift next to life & love-which is freewill.
More reason to stay away from Chinese goods.
Someone should test those Chinese-made Fenders and Epiphones for the same problems.
He said he tested 70 plus guitars. 3 of which had contamination. A 1960's guitar and two fraud guitars. Most of Guitar Max's Guitars are imports as well.
Phil, you side Track 99% of the time!
Epiphone is Chibson . Consumers should purchase the best LP that they can find no matter the brand or country of origin . American brand loyalty just lines the pockets of the corporate executives .
Pretty sure that's a real Chibson.
I have 3 Chinese knock off guitars and they all play like crap and that's after upgrading the pickups, doing fretwork and set ups. You can't make piece of crap play good no matter what you do to it. They are basically decorations that nver get played.
Lead is far too soft for frets
Fake Chibson ,,,, redundant
Why didn't your pal just take the guitar back to the sller and demand his money back? Why let the crook get away with his scam?
When I cover other artists songs, everyone know I'm a cheap knockoff copy 😁
If you are good enough you can consider yourself an artisan.
I don't care for Chibsons because I think they are really not so good. I rather save up and buy the real deal or at least buy Epiphone.
Why pay Gibson 1,500 bucks when you can buy a guitar made at the same factory for $300. Where exactly do you think Epi guitars are made? lol It's the exchange rate that works in our favor as well as cutting out the middle man, that $300 USD is $2,100 china money.
Who wants to copy Gibsons anyway? They’re terrible overpriced guitars. I played a J45 and it felt terrible and sounded horrible. It felt like a toy. Nothing special about them to pay for them. Most people are not even playing the guitar. They collect them and sell them for three times the amount. Just because it’s US made and overpriced does not mean it’s good.
Why do we let this counterfeit copyright infringed crap enter the USA? And why is it available on Ebay and other internet sites to be sold to the USA? Because of $.
real gibson or fake, both so so guitars.... let's lay gibson to rest. they died about 30 years ago
i have a Chinese LP with no logo or indications that it's a gibson except the shape of headstock- i paid $169 almost 10 years ago - it came as a husk and i did it as a project- --it's a very well made guitar and the craftsmanship is great.........i do agree they shouldn't put Gibson on the headstock or any other company .
Guitar Max shills nothing but garbage. Hell of player though!
I thought all the old farts that buy Gibson Bursts for stupid money did it because of Led. 😀
Chibson, Chinabacker, Chender, Chibanez..... EWWWW Chinese knock offs.
Charley Benton.....
