Tigers fan here. BIG congrats to the Trojans! They had superior play calling and execution and deserved to win this game. Although this loss stings right now, I gotta believe that facing the type of dynamic offense that USC has should help the Tigers later on. The BIG 10 is going to quickly learn from this game that they better be ready for the speed and precision that the Trojans bring to bear with their prolific spread offense. 💯🎯

I picked USC to win 45-21. Just one point off for LSU, but way off for USC. Riley did play more conservative and that contributed to them having less points, but he had to help the defense in not dying on the field from over playing.
So is the LSU QB. You guys are stacked at receiver, OL and have a stud RB. Defense played well overall esp against one of the top offense’s in the country in USC. I am rooting for LSU the rest of the season, especially the final game against Oklahoma. Haha ✌️

The B1G teams won 17 out of 18 games in the first week. The one losing team, Minnesota, only lost by 2 points. There are no automatic 'Ws.' It is the best college football conference.

I might be the only Oklahoma fan to say this but Congrats on the win. Miller Moss is definitely the next great LR QB. You can tell he is comfortable in the system... Remind me of Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray. Baker played 3 years in the system... Kyler Murray was in the system for a couple seasons before he was the starter. I expect Moss to be a Heisman candidate or winner. Lincoln Riley did something that I always wished he would do at OU..... For starters get a good defensive coordinator. Also try not to score within two or three plays. I thought Lincoln Riley did a good job going on drives that chewed up some clock. He was able to give his defense a rest instead of trying to score in a couple plays. You guys were able to get a huge win in front of a big audience. It was definitely a great game that the whole country was watching. In my opinion this is Lincoln Riley's best win since he beat Ohio State in 2017. I'm still not a Lincoln Riley fan LOL but he definitely silenced a lot of his haters.
I agree with everything you said, J. This defense is going to get better. Now Lynn knows what he’s working with in terms of players. He has tape from a real game, not just practice. All of the defensive coaches will adjust their depth charts and playing time accordingly.

USC J, the SEC hasn't never had to play anyone of a threat on their scheduling until now. Why play anyone of a true power 5, when you have a system that makes sure that it's conference is ranked over 50% of the time??? Great game, but I hope Lincoln stops listening to the pundits and fans about a "complementary" game. Riley didnt unleash Miller early in the game. He tried for too much of a balanced game. USC needs to use its receivers to STRETCH the field vertically (MM is unique in his ability to read vertical depth hit receivers in vertical gaps). Strike deep early and it opens up the passes underneath and the run game. USC's o-line is not good enough to run the ball when a defense knows it is coming. Why is Makai not on the field more? Why such soft coverage by the USC secondary, particularly on 3rd down? I predicated 42-24 and that could have been the score if Riley had not been so conservative early on. Stop trying to win like USC won in the past. Our strength is the receivers and QB and putting up points fast early in the game, so our opponents must play from behind. Gentry is great. He almost had an interception there. Love to see Kyron highlighted. He deserves the attention. We only go 12-0 if Riley drops the attempt to please the old-time fans and pundits with a strategy that does not play to our strengths. We ran for 3.0 yards per rush - that is failure. Culture of the team is fabulous. Now we need the coaches to execute a winning strategy. We wont go 12-0 if we are in alot of single point games late in the 4th quarter. That is just probability theory.
Brother J, like I’ve said before here and to anyone who will listen: A+ level coaches can coach up B level talent and get A level results. It is hilarious when I read all the concern about the “recruiting struggles” when these people clearly overlooked how Utah regularly cooked SC with supposedly lessor talent. Talent only can take you so far, coaching is the most important ingredient. Yesterday should put to rest the concerns of all the chicken little in regards to the supposed talent issues. The number of ⭐‘s behind a kinds name doesn’t automatically mean games are won. The coaching of the kids playing does has been a vastly undervalued component. People need to quit living and dying based on how many stars their recruits do or don’t have. They really need to begin to understand that a computer is only as good as the guy running it.
This is coming from a guy who learned this lesson after his extremely talented but poorly coached HS team lost to a far less talented yet far better coached team. It’s a lesson I’ll never forget. Hopefully some of the people reading this will chill out and quit thinking it’s the end of the world when a 5 star diva chases the bag somewhere else.
It was a great win and the team looks very promising. However we need to dial it back a bit. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We have tough games ahead.

I hope Brian Kelly isn't. He's actually a good coach. If their defense continues to develop and their offense not be anemic, then they could turn the tables in the SEC. Their D is what hurt them last season just like USC. For a top 110 defense going 9-3, is impressive. Anyway, Kelly is quite cordial and pleasant to talk to, to what I can tell.

USC J, the SEC hasn't never had to play anyone of a threat on their scheduling until now. Why play anyone of a true power 5, when you have a system that makes sure that it's conference is ranked over 50% of the time??? Why play a true non conference schedule when we can get away with playing cupcakes and ourselves??? The SEC gets rewarded for playing themselves. Now this conference is exposed to the real. The SEC can't play a real schedule that has them travel out of SEC country, they can't. The SEC needs it's comfort zone dude, these fools can't travel to no Ohio State or no Penn State st or Eugene. Shout out to LSU they came out and played a heck of a ball game. They said it was going to be a bar fight and it was . Hey give us that 2003 National Champs Title we settled it and we won congratulations to USC the guys played amazing. If we had last years defense and mentality LSU would have woooed us up and down the field. The coaches had these kids prepared. Being former offensive lineman I’m gonna shout out the oline for fighting on it was ugly they won and lost some but they kept on fighting till the end. Being in Utah State I hope our back up and back up back ups get some game time. Fight On

Riley didnt unleash Miller early in the game. He tried for too much of a balanced game. USC needs to use its receivers to STRETCH the field vertically (MM is unique in his ability to read vertical depth hit receivers in vertical gaps). Strike deep early and it opens up the passes underneath and the run game. USC's o-line is not good enough to run the ball when a defense knows it is coming. Why is Makai not on the field more?
Why such soft coverage by the USC secondary, particularly on 3rd down?
I predicated 42-24 and that could have been the score if Riley had not been so conservative early on.
Stop trying to win like USC won in the past. Our strength is the receivers and QB and putting up points fast early in the game, so our opponents must play from behind.
Gentry is great. He almost had an interception there. Love to see Kyron highlighted. He deserves the attention.
We only go 12-0 if Riley drops the attempt to please the old-time fans and pundits with a strategy that does not play to our strengths. We ran for 3.0 yards per rush - that is failure.
Culture of the team is fabulous. Now we need the coaches to execute a winning strategy. We wont go 12-0 if we are in alot of single point games late in the 4th quarter. That is just probability theory.
Brother J, like I’ve said before here and to anyone who will listen: A+ level coaches can coach up B level talent and get A level results. It is hilarious when I read all the concern about the “recruiting struggles” when these people clearly overlooked how Utah regularly cooked SC with supposedly lessor talent. Talent only can take you so far, coaching is the most important ingredient. Yesterday should put to rest the concerns of all the chicken little in regards to the supposed talent issues. The number of ⭐‘s behind a kinds name doesn’t automatically mean games are won. The coaching of the kids playing does has been a vastly undervalued component. People need to quit living and dying based on how many stars their recruits do or don’t have. They really need to begin to understand that a computer is only as good as the guy running it.
This is coming from a guy who learned this lesson after his extremely talented but poorly coached HS team lost to a far less talented yet far better coached team. It’s a lesson I’ll never forget. Hopefully some of the people reading this will chill out and quit thinking it’s the end of the world when a 5 star diva chases the bag somewhere else.
It was a great win and the team looks very promising. However we need to dial it back a bit. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We have tough games ahead.

I hope Brian Kelly isn't. He's actually a good coach. If their defense continues to develop and their offense not be anemic, then they could turn the tables in the SEC. Their D is what hurt them last season just like USC. For a top 110 defense going 9-3, is impressive. Anyway, Kelly is quite cordial and pleasant to talk to, to what I can tell.

Salute to you big J, my question is and I hope you cover this tonight when you go live, DL recruits Justus Terry and Jakiem Stewart do you think they were impressed with our play and development, from just one game. I know we have to be consistent but they gotta be happy with the DL to see how discipline we were. Also I love how the LB were flying all over the field, how they utilized the LBs I hope we will see rasejon Davis out there as well. I hope our LB recruits loved it as well. I know our DB recruits were happy to see us play against a big time opponent and stand on business
