Hi from Japan. Ultimate is played in P.E. class in some Japanese school. I really enjoyed this video to learn how to throw Frisbee and Learning English
P.S. The toss I'd love to see you make is: behind the back catch, after a single bounce as the disc come back to you having just passed through the "Drive Through" Redwood Tree up in NorCal! Way-way cool/sick if that bounce could launch inside the tree as your toss comes back to you.
Brodie, you shouldn't be so nice to some of these people, 😂😂😂 I have watched many of your videos and have been practicing my throwing, and the video your talking about that people are complaing about actually helped me get distance on my backhand, people on here talking crap like they are a frisbee master and bet they can't hang with any of your trick shots! 😂😂😂
ah, 2006! Almost a veteran! You are a quick learner! btw, the throw you call a 'chicken wing' is really a Wrist Flip, it was the precursor to the Flick. Although some people can throw it well, it's not accurate comparatively and has few uses in Ultimate (although some people can throw it farther than their Flick, it's a 'fun' throw, not an "Advanced" Throw.
start doing pushups and perhaps curling dumbells, this will gradually increase your throwing power and will make it natural to incorporate more arm and less flick into your throws as it will be the spin that makes them float. and if you don't want to do any form of building muscle for throwing just throw with more arm and less wrist
Hey Brodie Smith, I've been playing Ultimate for about 8 years now and I've watched several of your videos and I just have one question. I can throw many different ways and I can put a decent amount of power in them, but I noticed in a lot of your videos its quite windy to say in the least. What has helped you maintain your accuracy with that much wind? Its not hard keeping my accuracy throwing with the wind but against it, its a totally different story.
@brodiesmith21 Could you do a tip video that deals with throwing into the wind exclusively? I can get my backhands to even out into the wind, but my flicks have proven defective when thrown into the wind.
If you pull a disc on an arc, then it can only ever travel away from your hand on a tangent to the arc. This means the timing of the release is the ONLY way to make an accurate shot. By far the best way to be accurate with a disc is to pull it down the line it needs to fly on, from the start of the pull-through, and keep it on that line until you let it go. Then it can only go in the direction of the line. It will be accurate, and only short or long, depending on how much power you put into it.
@saemj You do realize that pulling it like starting a lawn mower is minimizing your torque and therefore minimizing distance and spin. Plus, the motion is that of a child throwing the disc. You want the disc as far away from your body as to put to use the torque of the body, the leverage of the arm, and flick of the wrist. Listen to Brodie. He gets it
ATTENTION: To all asking what kind of disc they use, I'd say 98% of ultimate discs are Discraft Ultrastar's. thumb this up so everyone can stop asking.
Do you know how to throw the Swimming Pool 2-hand set?? Two hands on the disc Left hand facing backwards, fingers on rim above 2nd knuckle. pressure disc back. Right hand facing forward, 2nd knuckles on rim, pressure disc forwards. Hold over head. To Throw, hold left hand firm & push right hand forward, spinning disc counter on release as left hand turns to 9:00 and Right hand rolls to 3:00. Finish horizontal with hard spin to Counter. In a pool you can keep your elbows out of the water
I have a question. You make a lot of videos on how to throw the frisbee farther but is there a way to throw the frisbee faster? It seems like every time I throw a pass it always gets picked because it's moving to slow.
Who else can throw like this guy, and also makes instructional videos? Please, we would all appreciate it, ,,,it's the spirit of the game.

Do a video on the RULES of Ultimate
start doing pushups and perhaps curling dumbells, this will gradually increase your throwing power and will make it natural to incorporate more arm and less flick into your throws as it will be the spin that makes them float. and if you don't want to do any form of building muscle for throwing just throw with more arm and less wrist
thank you!
Yo man I love your videos and how do you throw a better faster forehand cause I'm really trying to get better at it.

Good shit.... Duuuude👀!!!
you look like gareth bale
From Tottenham days.
you are now on my dads friends professional ultimate frisbee team. will you be in western springs or LaGrange?
Does forehand or backhand produce faster disc speed, or does that depend on the individual?
+spooderman thanks
How do you bowl with a frisbee? and i mean the shot where it rolls sorta on the rim of the disc. whats the grip, upper body and lower body positions?
Thank Brodie
Brodie, have you looked up the Gareth Bale comparison yet? Uncanny!
For a disc, its more of a straight line through the chest, pulling through to a strong snap from your forearm to release your grip.
Hey Brodie I'm a big fan of you and there one thing can you show how do you do all those trick shot
Any recommendations on purchasing a new disc? I'm relatively new to throwing and would like to buy a decent disc now.
