Uber and Lyft rates are trash in San Francisco Bay

- it's summer and demand is on the lower side to the rideshare companies are just giving low rates and drivers need to be accountable in the trips they accept. If it's too low don't do it and set a standard for yourselves.
Some of those fares are paying way more than rates in SoCal
This is on SF pay. Any city outside of SF is trash
100% agree. Uber vs Lyft should be criminal Behind bar screwing drivers time . The offer is walk of shame Dara vs David
Rideshare guy said yesterday that Lyft is beginning to pay drivers more for longer trips in some markets. (But may only be for longer distance.)
They used to pay good for long trips but decreased the pay over time
Thank you for your videos. I enjoy and learn from them.
Glad you like them!
That $41 trip from SF to Pleasanton costs the passenger $75 according to the Lyft rider app. I would've converted it off the app and would charge $60. For trips that are above $10 and less than $20; and close to 30 minutes. I would've converted it to $20+ so the ride calculation is more in line to $40 per hr.
@@bucketlistyo9596 I would rather not convert. I’ve been asked by riders for example going from sfo to the marina that paid me $22 while they paid $90. I just don’t want to take the risk of getting in an accident and I’m not covered.
Could you explain the seasonality of the San Francisco market?
I’ll try to make a video. Every market is different and SF has its ups and downs. Holidays are the worse when locals go out of town and the city is empty. I go out of town too now on holidays and time my vacations that way.
yes stay away from our area
Yes, definitely prefer videos like this. Do you ever find yourself in areas like Pleasaton or Concord, and not able to get a ride back? Does it ever happen? I'm thinking of staying in the Bay Area for a little while, and it'd probably be in those areas. Somewhere in the East Bay. And then I'd try to get a passenger going into SF.
@@ShelterDogs thanks for the feedback I’ll make another video at the end of the week. I took a rider from sf to Moraga this afternoon. I started to drive back west empty and I did get some offers in the area but I declined. I got an offer from Oakland to SF that I took and that paid the toll to get back to my area and I profited the toll from sf to moraga.
The East Bay is Ok and there are productive areas there like Walnut Creek, Concord, Antioch.
Thank you. Moraga is pretty far out there. That's good, at least you got some return money. It's cheaper to stay in East Bay Area, that's the only reason. At least it seems that way based on what I see on AirBnB. Fremont, in particular, cost a lot less than other areas.
look like lyft is better in your market. I drive lyft exclusively in SF. stopped using uber almost a year ago.
I use both. there's days uber is better and days Lyft is busier. I've noticed from Lyft is that the pay better than uber only when they have the turbo hours that will give me over $30/hr. I believe that the uber algorithm knows I only tend to accept the higher paying comfort trips so I don't get very many uber X offers and the app is quiet while I work Lyft.
@@SFioniqDriver I consistently earn about 30-35 an hour in SF. but i only drive morning and evenings. if Im lucky I can have day swhere I earn almost 50 an hour. It all depends on your techniques.
@@game-c2b as you can see from the screenshots I have trips that are $70/hr with tips. $50/hr trips to east Bay. If I count only active time I do have days I have $50/hr.
Damn 78$ for one hour of work that’s pretty damn good. I get paid 20$ an hour
@@thehurley17 it’s not always the case. That trip is on the rare side maybe 20-30% of trips.
keep making screen shot videos
uber driver from 2015-2018 here, rates used to be good, be smart about it now
Tgese driving gigs are not meant to be a career. You can do it temporarily but need to be working on a real skill such as electric, plumbing, AC, mechanic, etc.
@@هذاأنا-ذ3ث true. I have other endeavors/projects while doing gig work.
@@SFioniqDriver
That's smart! Anyone can get a license and drive a car but... it takes a few years to learn HVAC. You can easily make $200K/year from your work van doing plumbing and still being your own boss.
