Here, depending on your state, some minors can consent at age 16 but only for being involved with other teens within 3 years. That's a tough one, because it's correct in premise but really destructive in practice. Since crimes like that are taken very seriously, I wouldn't be surprised if they would get removed from sites the second it becomes well known, which means that they have no way to respond. There by, going against free speech. False Allegations would gain an infinite power, because they would have to way to disprove you. We've seen close friends of people who have been falsely accused turn on them after seeing the allegations. Passing a law like that is unconstitutional at best and horribly destructive at worst.

This is exactly what I brought up in my comment! People tend to miss that age if consent means when the person at that age is now allow to be in relations with someone of their age or under 18 still (14 year old can now be with a 14, 15, 16, 17 year old). Even the Romeo and Juliet laws typically grant 2-3 yr gap, which even then Cosmo is over that gap if the victim was 14 at the time (a 5 yr gap). Still gross he tried excusing it without thinking of the reasoning for this kind of law. I don't know why people are finding this so difficult to understand!

Why his claim its normal here in Germany is a lie: Age gaps like the one presented by Cosmo are unusual. Here you can do an "Ausbildung" which is working 3 days per week while attempting 2 days at business school for the theoretical stuff. Most people beginn at 16 and end with 19/20. Basically his situation would be someone who finishes business school and has three years of workplace experience dating someone who has at least one year of public schooling ahead of them. Now tell me of that sounds icky or not....

The younger one has over a year before their biggest problem will be final exams, while the older party already has a way better time management by having to manage flip flopping school and work and had their own salary for years. The older party in the situation took way more responsibilities in life and has much more experience. This gap isn't seen as normal here. The younger one doesn't need any resources or such, because they have no responsibility at their age

From what my friends and family have told me, consent laws there are complex, but in general, the age of consent on Germany is only 14 if both people involved are under 18. I actually talked to Cosmo quite a few years back on Discord and we got along for like a few days, and then I brought how I don’t like how Vincent Waller and how he treats some of the fans in the SpongeBob fandom like crap, and he got all butthurt and told me I was wrong to criticize him. I immediately blocked him and I still don’t regret it, ESPECIALLY after I heard all of THIS come out a few months back... Like Just Stop said, I HIGHLY recommend watching LS Mark instead. I’ve also talked to him a few times on Discord too, and he’s been a genuinely pretty nice guy.

People tend to miss that age if consent means when the person at that age is now allow to be in relations with someone of their age or under 18 still (14 year old can now be with a 14, 15, 16, 17 year old). Even the Romeo and Juliet laws typically grant 2-3 yr gap, which even then Cosmo is over that gap if the victim was 14 at the time (a 5 yr gap). Why his claim its normal here in Germany is a lie: Age gaps like the one presented by Cosmo are unusual. Here you can do an "Ausbildung" which is working 3 days per week while attempting 2 days at business school for the theoretical stuff. Most people beginn at 16 and end with 19/20. Basically his situation would be someone who finishes business school and has three years of workplace experience dating someone who has at least one year of public schooling ahead of them. Now tell me of that sounds icky or not....
So basically, the younger person has to have the power a resources of an adult to leave the relationship?

The younger one has over a year before their biggest problem will be final exams, while the older party already has a way better time management by having to manage flip flopping school and work and had their own salary for years. The older party in the situation took way more responsibilities in life and has much more experience. This gap isn't seen as normal here.

It's not the norm, but it's not completely unusual either (though guys with so much younger girlfriends tend to be seen as loosers who aren't good enough for women of their age with, well, experience and standards). I don't live in Germany, but I am partially German. From what my friends and family have told me, consent laws there are complex, but in general, the age of consent on Germany is only 14 if both people involved are under 18. Not that it matters that much, seeing how the victim lived in America, but it does mean that not only is cosmos reasoning fundamentally flawed, but he used and keeps using omissions of the truth to manipulate his audience into believing that what he did was maybe not right, but acceptable. Fuck me I wish I had died before I was born.
yeah age laws like that exist other places as well so its weird that he keeps messing it up but i wonder if its intentional. A lot of people bring up japan but their age of consent is also pretty complicated. you can still get arrested for doing things with a 13 year old if you fall outside an age range and i think i remember the age range being pretty tight. You wouldn't see someone over 18 holding hands and treating a 13 year old like a lover like its a normal thing.
