  • Hi Everyone
This is a walk through video of how to rebuild a power steering pump on any car with a 2jz. The pump is shared with some older 4runner, Tacoma, and T100 engines.

Great video. Where did you get those snap ring pliers?

I believe they are Snap-On. They come with a variety of interchangeable tips. Some with different diameter pins, others angled down, and others with sharp points.

Do you plan on swapping the engine or just swapping out the head or block when they finally die?

Chris Torres Not sure just yet. I’m trying to get the engine healthy while focusing on upgrading my suspension. I’m dropping the rear subframe soon once I get my last set of adjustable arms. I’ll be making a video on the whole process too. The engine is healthy, just have an exhaust leak and need to change the head gasket. Planning on drifting so I need to have everything set up.

Left to many Questions, Didn't show too much, Like show P/N on rebuild Kit, Show lifting Center Vane Disc, Too much to list, did have some good points But? And what's with the black, he helps?

Thanks for the feedback. The part number or specifically the link to the rebuild kit is on the video bio. Take a look at that for more information. I did mention the procedure on how to remove the disk with the veins and also mentioned that I forgot to record it. It’s pretty simple to do but if it’s too complicated to understand how to simply just lift it off, then maybe the job might be too complicated for you. And your last sentence seems incomplete even though you edited your comment, so I must assume you’re referring to the African American saying “tap it in”. Watch Happy Gilmore with Adam Sandler and I hope some humor arises out of you. Thanks again

I would gladly love to answer the many unanswered questions you have since there are so many.

Tried it and unfortunately I took a chunk out of the fluid bearing material while trying to get that shaft seal out. I guess I bumped it with the screwdriver and that was all she wrote. Oh well, off to rock auto for a remanufactured pump I guess. :/
