- I got a new Cross kit! It's one of the smaller trucks they do, but an absolute classic that should be right at home in the Welsh mud...
I ordered it from the UK importer and it arrived the very next day - how good is that?! As I write this I've already started building it, but that'll have to wait for a progress update. Here I'll show you what's in the box.

Hi Steve - love your unboxings mate, don't ever change! And boy, you took tyre sniffing to the next level, connoisseur sniffing! 🤣That's gonna take some beating. The new truck looks fantastic, great choice. Now you just have to get another Cross rig to totally outdo A n T!!! Oh, as for the colour, please don't do green. I think non-military will be a nice change. I reckon a proper orange would look cool. The box art looks like a deep tangerine colour, a lighter shade would suit it, methinks! Anyway, whatever you do, it'll be great. Take care, all the best as always. 😁👊👍
Ha ha, thanks Mark! I really can't decide on the colour now, as not-green does seem popular, yet all the ones I love watching are military... I do have a nice orange though, which would work well with white. 🤔 But do I want an orange and white Gaz? 😬🤷♂️🤣 I don't know! 😭

Out of my Cross Rc my favourite to build, it goes together well. The pop off roof very good to get inside if you need to.
Yeah, it's going pretty smoothly so far. I was planning to make the crate lids completely removable too, just for access for the rear one, but now I've got more built I'm thinking there's no real need for the space. So maybe I'll just attach that permanently. 👍
@@rccrawlersmid-wales645 The worse Cross body I have built is the Ural. That's a real pain with what to paint or glue. That's why I like the Gaz so much. The rear beds are nice to build, the twin crates I do not know why they did that.

I was surprised how noisy the HC6 was. The MC6 has metal gears and is very quiet but it does have the hobbywing motor in it. That said the mammoth was terribly noisy. Have you tried using a different motor?

MAYBE MAYBE MAYBE! Or orange. Or green. Definitely weathering though. I wonder if this box will be as noisy as the HC6 was? I even tried a brushless motor on that and it was just as bad - it's definitely the gears.

I agree with Tez, If you're going red maybe go for a grey primer then red on top so that the primer can show through maybe with the salt technique or hairspray method? That gearbox is the same as the Mammoth, just pack it full of grease to reduce the sound. Interesting smell testing on the tyres.....might give it a go. Saw Tez's Mammoth on ebay a while back.....sad times indeed are upon us. (
Terry absolutely loves it when you give him a hard time about selling the Mammoth, so, you know...

Great unboxing. Army colours do look good. But if I had to change the colour I did think dark red maroon, with rust looked good. All the best from a fellow tyre sniffer..😁

congrats on new kit, I am on fence on the fc6. I want to do another hydraulic dump truck conversion and that one would be my choice of rigs. The tc6 is got to many things going on in in-between the chassis rails to allow room for a hydraulic lift system. I could be wrong yet of what I can see on videos looks to be the case.

Looking forward to your build mate, if you go with Red or a civilian colour as long as you weather it I think it would be cool. The restoration fresh paint would look nice but would maybe look out of place in your beautiful run videos.

No, the box art one doesn't look orange on my screen. It looks red. As red as the face of a man who has more Cross trucks than his mates.
Bright colours do seem popular, don't they?! I'm heavily conflicted now... anyway, it'll definitely be weathered and rusty whatever colour it ends up. As for red faces, Andrew counters that his massive Cross 8x8 counts as two trucks anyway, but then Terry argues that he wins on wheel count (he's got a 6x6 and a pickup with duallies). They're so competitive it's easy to wind them up... 🤣😎👍

@@brettskinner5824 Yeah, I'm sure you know AnT R/C but Terry found his one pretty awkward at times. I did have a quick drive one time and it's a hell of thing - properly different from 'regular' trucks. The Gaz is going pretty well thanks - just about ready for primer!
