ROBERT. Hi. Can you please let us know about the other Robert? We haven't seen him in a while, just want to know if he's ok. Will we see him again? I miss him. Thanks. Melanie
I used D2 on a black granite gravestone. Initial brushing 30 minutes after application. It easily removed 60 years of lichen with a soft brush. Leaving a final application of D2 on the marker eliminated any remaining stains. Remarkable product.
You are always thinking and doing! Samantha Street, a great choice to clean. It looks completely different already. Looking forward to this update and the Byrd's, too. 👍👍🤗❣️
It starts locally. I have been volunteering for over 30 years in cemeteries in a dozen local towns. I have also spoken to town officials and helped a few towns get grant money to help out with neglected cemeteries and help preserve history and show some respect to those who passed before us. Most don't need money......just volunteers who take the time to do the work.
To be honest the stone didn’t look all that bad until you sprayed the D/2 on it… that’s when the growth was revealed… great job! I suggest using a bucket and dip your brush in the water as you clean…. That seems to work really good for me.
@@patriciasmith4277 D/2 biological solution is a material that is used to safely kill and remove biological growth from historic stone like headstones and building materials. It is used in cemeteries across the country including Arlington national cemetery to keep the headstones free of moss, mold, mildew and lichen.
Can't help thinking how the other Robert would have enjoyed using this cleaning product back in the day! Robert you are doing a great service honoring the graves of people who none of us ever heard of but we do now.! Thank you!👍❤
Robert you should receive many accolades for all this awesome work you do to save history. You put such love and care into what you do. Well done Robert! Bravo!!
You can definitely tell how much cleaner it looks. Robert, you get so many comments on your channels about how you should do things. Especially on your other channel. I believe you know what you are doing! Your passion for preservation definitely comes through in your videos. Keep up the good work 👍
Thank you - and yes, I am involved in way more than people know and have much more knowledge than people realize. Of course keyboard experts will keyboard expert regardless 😅
Thank you for the great information. I will put it to good use this autumn when my siblings and I make our rounds visiting our family cemeteries in Kentucky. What a great way to honor someone's life even if you are not related. Blessings to you.
D2 sure is amazing stuff. Thanks for telling us about it and showing how to properly clean the headstones. Your compassion for all of these old resting places shines. The cemetery where a lot of my family is buried has graves from the 1840's. A lot of old stones could use a good cleaning. I'm going to see if others in my community would like to go in together and get some D2 and spend a few days doing some cleaning.
It's unusual, but certainly not unheard of for a slave to have an headstone. This is awesome! Thank you for taking care of Miss Samantha's headstone. ❤
An older women i ran into last Thursday in a local area cemetery that has a lot of stones misplaced and many that has fell over, she is repairing a lot, she uses the same D2 on these stones and let's it sit, she has brought a lot of them back to life...
Robert thank you for your compassion and for cleaning these stones I wish people would get out to these deserted cemeteries and clean the grounds. Robert thank you again for these videos and getting the word out👍❤️
Great video! I really enjoyed it and love the work that you do. I have been volunteering in local cemeteries for over 30 years and it brings me great joy to see others doing the same!
You're an amazing man Robert the dedication you put into remembering the past in the dead is amazing to me this is the problem too many people forget the past I truly miss you and old Robert going out there doing the work together God bless you you have a heart of Jesus say hi to Blue love you guys so much ♾️✝️🛐♥️ LOL P.s. the headstone looks so awesome already .
Thank you for what you do .I have been wondering what to use to clean my daughters headstone there is a dark spot running down the middle.Where can i buy this stuff you use
She wouldn't have been a slave. The thirteenth ammendment was signed into law in 1865. If she was a slave it wasn't legal. It would be closer to false imprisonment or even kidnapping.
Well done!! Good work Sir, I hope you find the time to put a new support behind Samantha’s headstone. It would be such a shame for it to fall over. Many thanks Rob👍
I'm no expert but I would think using diluted hydrogen peroxide would work as it kills mildew and is safe to use in the environment. HP is also cheap. Mildew, lichens and mosses do slowly break down stone producing small amounts of acid...limestone and marble in particular.
Hi and great seeing you again. It's looking very nice. I wish we could clean all the stones that need it ...well thanks for taking us along. Take care.
Thank you Robert for preserving history.. What a beautiful stone. I find this work very rewarding. I cleaned family stones and I feel a sense of family doing this. Honoring their memory.
At 1:54, right after you spray the back down, and the big white circular area gets wet, look at the face that appears ! It resembles an African American woman with her hair parted in the middle... it is her face ONLY, no body , but WOW !
I believe you. I seen several others that have date of marriage. There is a very small cemetery off of Tara Blvd Hwy. 19/41. It's either in Bonanza or Lovejoy not sure where one starts and the other one ends. Looks like Georgia has a bunch of lonely and even some forgotton cemetery's. Y'all are very interesting and so are your videos.
Is the D2 good for any type of headstone? My grandparents is badly discolored, however, their headstone has a black coating on it which is flaking and where the names are, it is more of a natural stone look but it is also discolored.
You are at a cemetery of slaves and their descendants. Wouldn't it be a lovely if people would show respect for those people who worked so hard? People seem to claim to be a descendant of slaves and demand "respect". They should earn it by caring for those people who came before them.
You could see that your heart is in to do this of Restoring These old stone's. Have you had a stone just disintegrate on you? So kind of you to take the time and 💰 to restore these old forgotten pease of history Grave Stones!!! &scrubbing it just fall apart on you?
Samantha deserves to not be hidden behind the grime anymore. She was special someone. I sure wish I could have known her back then. She probably had the gift of hospitality and made people feel comfortable.💕 You're doing an excellent job of preserving headstones, and keeping the dearly departed remembered. Thank you!👼🏼
No. Think about it….. why would you need to? It could help loosen up some stuff or you could let the D/2 get straight to it. I have done both methods, doesn’t make a difference either way.

I admire how you have so much passion in restoring the headstones of old graves. You are an amazing man. You have a heart of gold.
I agree 💯 Robert is a good man
I agree Larry , we tend to forget our past and have compassion as Robert does. He is keeping history alive.
I'll agree with that

Imagine if every town in every state adopted a cemetery and restored and preserved it, how much history would saved!

That's amazing! I almost want to become the Mystery Cleaner who sneaks into cemeteries and graveyards, spraying D2 on old neglected headstones. lol

If Miss Samantha could ..... I'm sure she's thanking you for your kindness, Robert

She was. The birthdate is wrong. I thought I mentioned that on this video. Maybe not. But I’ve visited her stone before and told her story.
Where do I get the D2
Was hoping for an upload today! Excellent Outcome!
Enjoy your weekend.
Best Regards

That product is amazing and Samantha’s stone looks beautiful. Well done Robert.
Sorry, but her being born in 1868, means she was born after slavery was abolished. So nice of you to care about her so long after her death.
Her birthdate on her stone is wrong, it is actually her marriage date. Please see the other video in this person.
Great lessons learned for when I can finally get back to treating my Great-grandpa's lichen-encrusted headstone.
What a fantastic thing to do. Huge improvement, can’t wait to see them all again. What a treasure you are. Please stay safe and take care
Wasn't slavery abolished before 1868?
Watch the video linked in the pinned comment for Samantha’s story. But her birthdate is incorrect.
Well done!!
Good work Sir, I hope you find the time to put a new support behind Samantha’s headstone.
It would be such a shame for it to fall over.

I actually did. I shimmed the stone while I was there but I didn’t say it on video. If notice at the end the stone is sitting more upright
Yes I see Rob, thanks for the reply.
Best wishes to you from here in the uk👍
Thank you, Robert, for sharing and for the care and compassion in recognizing those who have passed. You are an amazing man!
Did you find her husbands grave? He is buried to her left, but his head stone is missing. His name was Hillyard Street.
It’s funny, several people have commented that. The info online on her husband comes from our previous videos and research 😅

Is it safe to use that cleaner without wearing gloves? That is an amazing product💜
For me it is, but others may have more sensitive skin.
This stone looks like it would be a waste to try and clean because it looks like its been pressure washed.
Thanks so much for the information 🇦🇺🐨👍🏻💜
