    Infrequently does the saxophone player wind up playing LESS than any other single rhythm section player. Bob is a BADASS.

    This is awesome. Can anyone explain to me a little bit about what the drummer is doing? I'm not very experienced in percussion so it sounds like he's intentionally going off the beat at parts. It's very cool though. This is a killer jam.

    • @patrickmestabrook
      @patrickmestabrook 10 років тому

      Conor Mangan The drummer uses triplets sometimes in ways disorienting to non-musicians. Triplets are where you fit three notes into a space where two would go ordinarly. It's especially weird when you accent the middle triplet, like he does at 1:17

    • @patrickmestabrook
      @patrickmestabrook 10 років тому

      Patrick Estabrook Sorry i got that wrong, sounds like he's actually accenting the last sixteenth note before the downbeat, and then not accenting the downbeat. Neat choice.

    • @madeyogi2716
      @madeyogi2716 10 років тому +1

      Patrick Estabrook yes, that's exactly it! It's also known as J-Dilla Groove. FYI :)

    • @PunyapatFungtammasarn

      yogi swara Is that ' J Dilla Groove ' is similar to what Chris Dave is doing or just inspired him or it has nothing to do with him ?

    • @madeyogi2716
      @madeyogi2716 10 років тому

      Exactly! its a groove that J Dilla used many times, many artist inspired by this kind of groove. chris dave and ?uestlove also plays it. idk the exact name for it, but people call it that lol. u may find it in groovy jazz kinda thing. Hope that helps u, man!

    what gender of jazz is this?

    • @maxsergeant9934
      @maxsergeant9934 7 років тому +4

      Tamya Palacios genre*, and I guess it is hip hop mixed with jazz and funk. I don't know there isn't really a genre to this. The only thing you can really call it is 'Good music'.

    • @UkuleleAversion
      @UkuleleAversion 7 років тому +1

      All true, but I think the best label for it is probably contemporary jazz funk-rock fusion. Surprised to see that you hear hip-hop in this but then again I'm not well versed in the hip-hop art form.

    • @noahpettibon
      @noahpettibon 7 років тому +3

      Tom Parker It's all in what the drummer is doing that indicates the hip hop influence.
