This is my first winter in my new place, and the walls have basically no insulation so it gets super cold super quick. I have a heater that is on a thermostat keeping the room 69-71° F (and his basking light is set to 86°F) but have found that is sucks the humidity straight outta the air. I started leaving a bowl of water in front of the heater vent and switched my Veiled's sprinklers to turn on every few hours. I'm still figuring out the balance, and his urates are a little orange. However his shed seems to be going well so thats a plus? Great video thanks for this timely information!! I am going to put some plastic on the sides of his enclosure! 🦎💚🌿
i have noticed with my female veiled if it is a gradual temperature change it does not seem to bother her as much, as say, a blast from a cold AC in the room. always keep a temperature gun handy.
Hello! I’ve been watching your videos a lot as I am getting a chameleon soon and you have really been helping, but I’m not sure where I could buy branches for the enclosure and What branches are appropriate for a chameleon. Thank you!
my cham is used to it being lower 70s at night. i'm having so much trouble in my new place keeping it that warm. what are my options as well as if i loose power. here in texas most places lost places the last two years. during the snow storms. in my old home we were on the hospitals power grid so we didn't. i know this year i will what can i do to prepare for if i do.
I just got a Jackson’s yesterday and figured this out this morning. He only stays at the top for about 5 minutes before going and chilling in the middle of the cage. Still under the light
I have a panther and with the cold I’m struggling with humidity. I have a half glass half screen enclosure with a mister. Would it be better for humidity if the mister sprayed less water more frequently or more water less frequently? When I had the spray time longer water was pooling in the bottom of the cage. Would the pooling of water be beneficial for the humidity?
I'd suggest misting for longer durations and finding a solution to handle all of the water such as a drainage system, pitted love plants, bioactive bottom, etc. You wanted to avoid having standing water. This video might be helpful as well: ua-cam.com/video/tktSq3nZ9g4/v-deo.html
Hi, my veiled chameleon has just turned 2 and I've noticed for the past 3 days he's been little lethargic (he is eating, drinking and so on) his skin is a little darker, he's yawning a lot and he's not moving that much from the top of his tank and he is a very nosey lizard (cage on the bulb but he tends to sleep there or sit). Idk if he's getting ready to shed or if there could be something wrong, I'm probably worry too much but would like to see if you think of anything else, also love your chameleons 💕
I'd suggest watching the signs of a sick chameleon video I made: ua-cam.com/video/Rqpy9yOCyc8/v-deo.html and you're welcome to book a video call with me to review your care and help figure out what might be going on:neptunethechameleon.simplybook.me/v2/
How do I get my chameleon to be more vibrant and not like I want it to be so colorful but if it’s less colorful then it normally is in general how do I fix that and it’s skin and have it be healthy looking?
Hello! Yes I do. You can find the booking link here: linktr.ee/NeptuneTheChameleon. The dates and times are flexible so let me know if you’d like me to open up another time slot.
Thank you always for the great info and I find it funny that Neptune video dropped towards the end 😅
Glad you enjoyed it! I always try to include a blooper at the end :)
@@NeptunetheChameleon a good blooper it was 😉
Thanks for all of your detailed information!.
You're welcome!

Luckily veileds don’t have super high humidity requirements. Hope you’re able to find a solution that works for you ☺️👍

Thanks for sharing your experience!
Should we keep the temperature high in night like keeping the light on in the enclosure and thanks for your helpful informations.
Do not use their heat lamp at night. If temps get below 60F in the enclosure, you can use a ceramic heat emitter which does not put off any light.

I use branches from outside. Here is my video on how to clean them: ua-cam.com/video/QwMzM6Zuzpg/v-deo.html
We bought decorative branches from Hobby Lobby, and I put houseplants in the enclosure.

Sounds like a generator would be a good option! Here is my video on heat at night: ua-cam.com/video/iDSX2cHnxXg/v-deo.html
My Jacksons don’t seem to like being near the heat. They like the lower levels of the cage. They seem to prefer 70s.
Yes exactly! Jackson's in particular have much lower temperature ranges.

Thanks a lot for the Celsius translation!

Red lights have been known to be harmful for reptile eyes.
