Had that exact machine in a lovely aqua. It was a great little workhorse. Cost me nothing, someone left it by our apartment dumpster.....apparently they didn't know how to adjust the tension. Used it for a few years, then passed it on to a new sewist in need (because really, did I NEED seven machines?)
G'day Wes, I was only telling my husband about you having these the other day.... no mention of the colourful belts to match in this video. God bless you and your family, now and always.
Cool! I just came into possession of two old sewing machines - one is a Japanese model (in green or turquoise) that looks like that one. I'll be interested to see if it works as well. You aren't exaggerating about the weight!
I’ve just ordered the Pink and Fuchsia for my Morse/Toyotas and Brother Retro machines. Thanks, Wes! I really appreciate your videos, too. They are helping with my revival of these work-horses. Best regards, New Zealand!
Those fantastic old Japanese machines took their design cues from American cars, they look like the dashboard of a Cadillac with huge chrome bumpers and early tail fins. Some have radio buttons like an Edsel push button gear shift. “Pimp My Ride” for sewing machines. 😆
Just bought a Singer 401a. My husband and I share it... He loves the machine, it is like one that his Mother did her sewing on when he was a kid and I love the big sewing table, but we can not agree on which color for the tire and felt pads. 🤔 What we are agreeing on is that we will buy them from you... I am betting that we buy the complete set and then try to figure out which we agree on then.🙂
Thats the machine i bought, which sews great, then somethjng happens to the tension. I took it to repair. Paid 120.00 And this still happens. Any suggestions!
@@soniaalvarez4771 I feel for you... It is a pain to figure out some times... Hopefully, Wes will have a better answer than mine, but I will give it a try. Some things that mess up tension the wrong type bobbin, thread or needle. On one machine the tension assembly spring needed replacing. And My brain just went dead... All I can think about now is that I need a spring for my daughter's machine and I need to order it soon. I hate when that happens... Sometimes I have a one track mind and the track is in need of repair. 🙄 I hope you find an answer soon!!! 🌼
My Janome DC5100 (Kenmore branded) worked PERFECTLY, except for a tiny squeak in the motor. Neighbor, who considers himself "jack of all trades" (he fixed our lawnmower in about 30 seconds) said "I can fix that squeak". Five months later, I finally asked what was going on, and he returned my machine IN THREE BOXES OF PIECES!!!! I don't know if all the pieces are there or not. I live in a rural area and there are no sew/vac places near me. This machine retailed for 900 bucks new, thankfully I found mine second hand, but I am at wits end. It broke my heart to see my beautiful faithful friend in this condition. I would be willing to send whatever is left of it to you - postage paid, of course, I am retired, on a fixed income and I love to quilt - and my family loves it when I quilt because it means another gift for them. LOL. Help me, please! What can I do? I am in Louisiana.
This one has me kind of excited. I inherited my mother in law’s machine when she passed. It has just been sitting in a box. I want to clean and oil it and then display it in my sewing room annex.
I would love to see a magnet from you that you stick on your machine and your snips can easily stick to it. All the learn to sew youtubers have magnets and also stickers on their machines.
I have made the mistake of attempting to disassemble and repair a vintage japanese machine i scored at salvation army for 5 bucks. It is a nesco/sanshin j-A38 model SAMB3-2. I dropped the tiny clips to the needle position lever spring somewhere inside of the casing, and a random spring from the inside right popped up and i have no idea where it went and cannot fit the life of me find anything on this machine and I've been looking online for months. Do you happen to know anything about repairing these machines? The closest is found was a regular samb and another similar machine under another brand. Nothing is broken, i just cannot find where in the heck the tiny clips went in there (probably stick to some grease somewhere 😅) or where in the heck this spring is supposed to go, as well as for to properly attach the L-R inner lever which was the original plan before all hell broke loose. Help! 😅😅
Hi, I have a vintage Singer 15-91 and have not been able to find a replacement for the felt or wool that is where the needle is oiled, can you make or do you know where I can get one of those?
if you have a 206/306 can u mod them to be walking foot machine ive looked at an old 31k 47 with a walking kick foot i rekan the parts or simliar part cud be fitted ???
pls design and market a nice colourful pvc case ! And also design a reliable hand crank for Singer or any 15K clone. The current Chinese Knock-off lightweight junk are extremely flimsy and poorly made.
I have a singer quantum xl 1 that i got from a family member who has now passed i was sewing and mid line it just shut off as if turned off or unplugged i believe it may be the fuse but have no idea how to get to it any help ?
That sewing mchine looks.like.a classic car! TFS!

That is a beautiful machine. Good luck finding a plastic *anything* on that beast 😇

I owned one of those machines long ago. It performs very very well and lasts.
I have bought these tires and felts from Wes and recommend them, I've been very pleased with the quality.
Thanks for the review!

This is really awesome, I appreciate you getting these new colors
Thank you! I needed a tire for my Necchi supernova in pink. Nice to see a good selection of colors.
Purple!!!💜

@@denabell4312 will try the bobbins and needles. Thank you!
That is a superb machine. I believe the base color is lilac.
Ahh lilac, that makes sense.
When you having a sewing party lol nice

Ever considered tossing a servo motor on an old straight stitch Singer or similar?
It looks like my Green Dressmaker De Luxe..weighs a ton. It has an offset needle that cannot be centered, but it’s a good machine.
Can you adjust the needle so it is in the down position when you stop it? Thanks

I have a vintage sewing machine dissembled but don’t know how to put it back….
NICE 👌👌👌👍👍👍
Hi how do I. Buy this colored tires I have a green janome 532 let me know I am intersted
He has an Etsy shop.
Any word on the Zigzag cam gear for the Sears Kenmore
I wonder if there are any folks finding and sorting and selling parts like that. I imagine many of them end up in charity shops or thrown away.
It seems the machine's color is lavender.
I dress the rubber wheel with silicon. It will last.
Came here for ways to improve my old sewing machine, left once I saw the religious propaganda.
