Binge watching your videos at the moment as my wife's sewing machine is constantly breaking the top thread, sorted it thanks to your help, I'm an airforce veteran and properly retired, subbed.
Thanks for making this video. Even though I take machines apart and service them too, I always enjoy watching you do it too. I always learn something new.
Tysm for showing how to open this! I have a Singer Futura CE 150 and had a bobbin stuck in the machine ( Idk how it got there lol) but thanks to you I could finally get it out I tried to get it out of there before but was afraid to ruin the machine! Again TYSM!
Hi West, this is so good to see, I have a Singer Futura SES 2000 model I purchased new and I like it and have wondered how to service it as it is now about 12 years old, it still works just fine and I use it sometimes. Thank you for showing this.
I've seen a few of these Singers over the past few weeks, as I scroll through the usual sites -- eBay, FB Marketplace, Goodwill, etc. I remember seeing them when they came out, loving the features, but really unsure because they had such an odd footprint! Never got one in the end, and don't have room for one now (too many of the Futura's elder sisters hanging around for preservation). Love seeing it cleaned up and ready to go again; and always fun to see what, in the past, we thought the "future" would look like!
I find watching you taking apart a machine and cleaning/fixing it very soothing. I have wondered, however, how do you remember where all the screws go? They can't all be the same size and length, right? wondering up in Canada
Hmm. Blessings and great job, dude. I wonder what is in the spray oyu suse to clean the outside pieces. Rubbingg alcohol? And how far is your shop from Detroit? Have and old 1036 slant needle that needs this kind of TLC. I would think that you sewing machine repair dudes know one another, perhaps you could recommend one near here to me.
Hey shipmate!! I’m a 21 year Navy vet as well as a Christian, also. I have an opportunity to purchase one of these units. The ad says it’s missing “software”. The cost is only $100 but give me a ballpark coat range for a tune up, and software install for the embroidery. I don’t have windows.
Curious about the actual elapsed time? How much can your charge for such service? I didn't see you tune anything, timing, etc., does the fact that one zig-zag stitch appears to be good mean that all the adjustments are right and all of the stitches are good?
Hey, I have a husqvarna oscar/ 130 (~20y old). I lost a needle under the stitch plate and neither me nor family have been able to open up "the arm" where it would be (like under/behind the bobbin case). Is it supposed to be openable or could it break? God bless
Dear how are you I hope you are fine ? I have few Questions Regarding Janome Model 802 ,1) my sewing machine Selector Knob Stuck 2)Stitch Length Dail not functioning 3) Reverse function not working 4) How I can Disassemble the Reverse and Stitch Assy Straight Stitch is working but reverse direction only and no ZigZag Please Reply soon Stay Blessed Always With kind regards and Best Wishes Thanks
The plastics on this machine could have really benefitted from a retro-brighting (hydrogen peroxide + clear plastic bag + sunshine = original colour) It's clearly "smoker's special" where the free arm clearly lived in a drawer.
This video actually looks scary to me.....my machines are like my "friends" because I spend Alot of time with them. It looks like surgery taking it apart like that😬 No wonder it costs $220 to have my machine serviced and cleaned. Thank you for the video. I bet it is One happy machine 😁

It is a gift. Sometimes I put them in order of removal on the magnetic tray. Other times, I just remember where they came from.
@CAD Thunkin And its always good when you don't have any screws left over :-0 LOL.

That wooden spool belongs on a vertical spool pin to avoid twisting the thread, uneven tension and breaking the thread.

How on earth do pins get in there?!?
I wondered the same thing, lol

That sewing machine looks like it smells like it just got finished smoking a cigarette.
I hate plastic sewing machines because they yellow plus to many plastic parts.
