- Pikmin 1 HD just came out for the switch and that means a lot of people will be playing Pikmin 1 for the first time! Saw a lot of clips about their experiences on twitter and thought to share a few that I have found.
Some are from players who already played the game before by the way. But included them in anyways due to either a funny glitch they encountered or just something funny they done.
Either way, hope you do all enjoy! Might make a part 2 or a Pikmin 2 version of this sometime in the future.
Please don't harass or make fun of anyone in this video. A lot of new people in here are their first time playing this game.

This exactly, I grew up with Pikmin and it's hilarious seeing people struggle with stuff I did as a kid
It's not a good thing. It might get many would be fans to drop the game. We need to get more fans so Nintendo looks at pikmin seriously
@@Subreon if it didn't stop us why would it stop them? I didn't complete a pikmin game until I was like 14 and had played them for years. I still had fun just making more pikmin and exploring the few places I could reach.
@@CurlyChopexactly. I played all of them when I was younger, but never beat Pikmin 1. Now that I’m older with my past knowledge of the game, I finally beat it on switch.
@@SubreonI mean Sonic still has fans and there’a some Sonic games that are completely out of Pikmin 1s league in terms of glitchy-ness

It makes it clear why they added a cutscene that explains what happened and what you need to do to save them from drowning in later installments.
I don’t get how people don’t realize it, the Pikmin are clearly suffering, and you need to get them away from their situation, so naturally the whistle brings them back to you

I know it's a bug but seeing the pikmin essentially roll the Libra like a wheel was cute
Libra glitches right off the bat, off to a great start :D
As a Pikmin veteran, seeing kids struggling now with this game because they don't know which Pikmin type they need to use for each part of the map is funny and at the same time hard to watch lol
The clip at 7:20 actually shows a cool mechanic people may not be aware of, blue pikmin that aren't following you, and are in water, will actually attempt to rescue other colored drowning pikmin which is why we see yellows being throw back over. The blue bikmin are trying to save their life :')
This mechanic was removed in Pikmin 3, but reimplemented in Pikmin 4
Maybe it's not working in the demo my blues were doing nothing
Except that in Pikmin 2 when they tried to do it for me, they would grab the pikmin that were right near the shore and toss them even further into a lake lol

I guess the Libra was hand built to turn into a Gmod ragdoll the moment it isn't touching the ground. Never change Pik1, never change
for new players, the clip at 2:08 you are meant to throw blue pikmin on the upper area to the left and then call them. They get stuck on the railing and then pick up the item when you guide them over. This same level appears in pikmin 2.
I've always done it like they did it in the video, it was only recently I figured out the correct way to do it lol. still I did it with yellow pikmin and they all drowned :)

I've played Pikmin 1 for like 10 years, but for some reason I threw Yellows onto the ledge on the left
Props to that 1 pik that was still able to find olimar within the black abyss.

I've been playing this game since it came out originally on gamecube when i was a child and I've genuinely never seen any of these things happen besides the Libra flying off the cliff. Literally, how do people get stuff like this to happen I wish I had that level of power
The switch "port" has some minor changes that really fuck with the physics for some reason, it's made the Libra even harder to get, and the sudden death pikmin glitch even easier

@@syweb2 all of the fall out of map, crushing, and onion displacement glitches are really common on it for some reason

I know my way around the first game and it's various glitches fairly well, so I can say for certain:
This is undiscovered art. I thought the Wii version was bad with it's crushing glitch, some of these just defy explanation.

2:04 the timing for "little glitches" had me rolling lmfao
Pikmin (GameCube): the Pikmin: "happily helping get the ship repaired"
Pikmin (Wii): Wii mote controls. the Pikmin: "oh? Didn't we help rebuild your ship before? We will help again this time but be more careful."
Pikmin (switch): red & yellow Pikmin: "again? Really? Well time to drown myself, watch and learn!" *Proceeds to bug out and drown in water in the game.*
5:40 that's some Pikmin 3 Deluxe behavior from the player haha
Many of these new player stunts - waiting for pikmin to swim back to you instead of whistling them, directing bombrock carriers into massive biting enemies - they're natural courses of action for Pikmin 3 Deluxe players. And many of these probably played P3DX first.

I haven't played the game in so long, I definitely got caught off guard after the blue Pikmin cutscene too
pikmin 1 is one of my favorite games of all time, and im glad so many new people get to experience it for the first time

You know you're in for a good time when a clip of Libra shows up.
That libra glitch happened to me on the gamecube version when I was 6 or 7. I panicked, then started to tear up that I had to delete my file (it was an incredible run). I remember calling my older sister who taught me the game to help but yeah we ended up deleting the file but she softened the blow and made sure it didn't happen again by doing that part for me when we got to it a few days later.
You didn't have to delete your file... You could just restart that day.
The Yellow Pikmin nuking the Red Squad at the beginning was personal. 💀

I love pikmin so much, something about these annoying glitches is what gives it its charm for me
I think the big majority of these glitches is caused by new physics programming, where things stop having collision and clip into each other (most clear example is 8:16 ) whereas in the original games, the bulbear would kind of walk on top of the other stuff. This could explain the libra clipping through the edge and getting launched, and most other glitches shown.
Libra glitch happened on GC and Wii aswell.

Man i still own a gamecube version of this game, i have seen to physics glitches to visual glitches (a red stripe appear out of nowhere in the screen and no, my TV was not broken)

When I was younger I played this game on the gamecube, for some reason my red pikmin glitched through a bridge they were building and fell into the water below. I lost 100 pikmin that day.
I beat 3 around the time it came out and played a bit of 2 on wii a few years after, but this is my first time playing 1. It was really fun when whatever the giant dweevil guy is called stepped on a bomb rock and wiped like 80 pikmin. Only glitch I can remember so far is Mamuta shoving some sprouts underground and them not popping up to where I could pull them for a couple minutes

Pikmin and invented the wheel, not cavemen
I think some of these newer glitches with physics is due to the fact it's running on better hardware than the GameCube, so the physics calculate a helluva lot faster than Pikmin 1 GC. So it'll just cause Pikmin to receive "knockback" when carrying items off ledges and cause the Libra to yeet into the stratosphere
The Libra bug used to be quite common on the original Gamecube version as well, and because parts don't respawn after falling into the abyss in Pikmin 1, you'd need to reset the day once it happens otherwise you'd softlock yourself out of completing the game (you also couldn't rewind days like you could in later ports either).

How the hell did I not experience any of these bugs as a kid, or when ,i just replayed this game a couple days ago...???
I literally got some Pikmin to get the 1st ship part in the game at the same time as the cutscene occurred, then they started just…spinning, and then 1 just went super high lol
Note that I didn’t have the Pikmin requirements I just did like 3

In the Forest Navel the Spider boss landed on my only Yellow Pikmin carrying a bomb rock, wiping out at least 40 of those brave Pikmin. Never forget 😔

I had a bug that there were 5 red pikmin in my group that were invisible but I could hold them in my hand but not throw them

Where this glitches in either the Gamecube and/or Wii releases? For all I know they always existed, but just became more known thanks to the switch's popularity and social media.
It happen to me but worst 0:13 to me it goes god flying away like a bullet😂
