She did the song at song speed, easy for her. JUNNA once performed at her highest speed and caused space/time fold to happen. She is the Bruce Lee of drummers. She is not looking at the drums, her eyes are closed or elsewhere 98% of the song. She is doing all of this purely on muscle memory and just having fun naming out and not having to focus so not only is it muscle memory, it is not a change to her, this is just hanging out having fun rocking out purely on passive skill no dice roll needed for performance. That is beyond impressive!
The drummer of Dragonforce has said this is his favorite cover and easily one of the best.

05:53 The definition of face melt lol. She does that to pretty much everyone. Such a joy to watch her breeze through some of the most challenging songs. Her showmanship is so satisfying to watch and a true testament to how comfortable she really is at kicking ass.
It's not only the perfect timing and great technique, that many drummers can replicate, but it is her energy, her constant smile and glow showing how much she enjoys this that makes this truly special. She is completely chill and just having fun while going full super sayan. That is the most impressive thing imho

I am an old drummer, and I am always reduced to tears when I see her play! Happy tears!! I wanna be having that much fun right now!!
She's actually a famous artist from Japan. She was the drummer for the band TRiDENT for a while. She's in her early 20s, so not nearly as young and many people seem to think she is.
For reference, she started drumming at 15 uears old, and TRiDENT (under their former name of Girls Rock Band Kakumei) released their first album in 2016. Though I don't know her actual birth year, as I wasn't able to find it listed online, it is safe to assume she is at least 22-23 years old currently (2023).

You will never find a cuter, happier, or more brilliant performer than this. Japan is crushing it with these amazing young ladies in music, look at Babymetal and Band-Maid for example. Not to mention like 50 more. This young lady will probably be a part of the next big girl band and I just pray I get to see her in concert because she's going to slay.
Sokoninaru has an incredible female bassist, too. There is so much great music currently coming out of Japan.
She's has already developed great technique. She looks like she's all over the place with all the extra rocker movements, but she's in complete 100% control all the way through. Very relaxed, notice her shoulders aren't tense and keeping her elbows and her arms low, saving her strength. She hits hard as needed but uses good volume control. Very creative on her fills, mixing it up over the bar which is not easy at this fast tempo. She is just overall freakin rocking this song

Because everyone is in awe at watching a third grade girl playing drums like an animal? If she was my daughter I would look like Jim Carry's Joker in Bat Man. My grin would be so wide it would take surgery to wipe it off..
As a drummer myself, DragonForce is one of the hardest, complex drumming around and Junno is absolutely KILLING IT!I I'm smiling ear to ear enjoying what this 13 year old, I'm assuming is doing here!!

I read she's 21 now and that she started playing when she was 15. 6 years only she's been playing the drummers. Wow BTW, check our Yoyoka Drummer also. She's 11, yeah 11. Watch her Deep Purple Burn cover. But yeah Junna is amazing. She blows me away every time I watch her.

Yes! Everyone used to only talk about how amazing and fast the guitarists were on this song (which ill never deny) but how about the amazing drums (as well as bass and vocals) are as well?
You can't help smiling when seeing her play. :) Another incredibly talented and even younger Japanese drummer worth looking at is Yoyoka. I think she started playing drums at age 2 and she is probably 13-14 now.
Agree for many young talents yoyoka for drums. Sakura yoshida guitar Fami for bass and Audry and Kate both guitar and base all these young ladys have a future in music
Yoyoka is 11 right now, and quickly becoming a world-class drummer...she already has been praised by the likes of Dave Grohl, Robert Plant, Ian Paice, Roger Taylor, Chad Smith, Sheryl Crow, Gene Simmons, Kim Gordon, Hayley Williams, Sass Jordan, Tony Royster Jr., Brad Wilk and Derrick McKenzie. Pearl showcased her talent the 2020 NAMM show. Not bad, lol

Japanese girls look young. Junna started when she was 15 and is about 20-21 now I think. Some learn VERY fast. Junna is my favorite drummer for sure. Favorite guitar is LisaX or YOYO. My favorite singer is Charlotte Summers.
Junna is awesome not only because of the talent but the energy she has and the happiness she transfers to anyone watching her videos.

One of the things Gee Anzalone (the drummer for Dragonforce) mentioned when he reacted to her cover was something that I think is way under-appreciated when it comes to great drummers.
He essentially said that too many times you get these drummers out here today who act all guarded and scared to mess up instead of looking like they’re actually enjoying what they’re doing. Here, we have this young lady who is not only an incredible drummer, but is out here smiling, head banging, and all this other stuff that tells us she is having the time of her goddamn life doing this, and that tends to translate to the audience when they see that.
As an avid concert-goer, I’m more likely to let loose and enjoy myself if I see the people on stage doing the same. Drummer included.
Great points made!!!! yes. one of my good friends (famous drummer) always says "you should be dancing while playing if you're not the music doesn't feel good" gotta stay happy while playing and keep it funn. It will translate to audience like you said. Appreciate the comment Harrison 🙌🏽

It was mentioned earlier, I would love to see her interpretation of a intricate song like "Tom Sawyer" by Rush. Knowing she would master it doesn't interest me as much as watching her interpretation of it... She's a unique talent indeed.

I'm no drummer, but have always found it fascinating to watch drummers and what some of them are able to do. This however is, like you said, next level showmanship, and I'm somewhere between laughing and crying, stuck with some awkward facial expression in limbo between the two. All I know is that I'm loving every second of it!
After almost 50 years of performing on drums... I always knew no matter how good you think you are there's always someone around the corner that's better... Back in the day in my Prime late teens early twenties I played some pretty serious rock ... But credit goes where credits due... This little girl on this in particular piece which would probably take me 2 weeks to learn and I don't think I could ever play it as well as she does hats off to one little Asian girl kick ass smoking astonishing genius
Never mind the insane talent... I am most envious of someone being as passionate about something as she clearly seems to be about playing the drums. She just seems to absolutely love the shit out of what she is doing

Her timing at that speed is crazy and to work in those insane fills and stay in the pocket the whole time is total mastery.
When I think of insane reactions, Junna takes all the awards. Her fills are ultra clean and she can beat the living tar off her skins. Very talented and the fire to excell at one of the hardest instruments is such a joy to watch.

i was a bassist and now i'm a bluegrass banjo stupid player ( 5 strings)( and please don't say banjoist it's too serious i feel playing seriously while having fun even on the hardest play is much more better than a name) and Junna make me think of a bassist and even more banjo ( bluegrass) player it's more about bein serious in having fun playing even the hardest thing! That smile and facial changes will playing make me feel she is our familly, the song is hard yes ( i have only played a very little the drum) but she look like she is having so much fun than this is all she need to be a "sister" fun inside technic that's THE BEST for a musician or at least it's how i feel it!
One of the things I enjoy most about Junna's cover(besides her crazy amount of talent)is her smiling throughout and having a absolute blast

Junna is one of the Japanese female top drummers. She was with Trident but not sure whether still active with them. Every drummer need to watch Junna, even Dragonforce drummer Gene Anzalone stamped his approval on Junna.

After 60 years of being a rock drummer I can say I've never seen anything like this. She's astonishing. I would love to see her play something more soulful, maybe some Rush, Pink Floyd or Metallica just to see if she can feel emotion in music.
