Love it. Thanks for posting! I find these movies (Mr. Wong, the Charlie Chan's w/Orland or Toler) so comforting. I've watched them all so often that I've begun using Wong and Chan-isms in my daily speech. "Contradiction, please", "Thank you so much", "Pardon me", "A request from a friend is virtually a command", "He rests well who dines well", "Am I right so far? I see by your faces that I am", "Hardly", "You flatter me", "Delightful girl", "Clever, very clever" and so on lol. Karloff's refined manner of speech is a delight. And the actress who plays the capable, feisty reporter Ms. Logan and of course Det. Sam Street (though I'm certain he's called Bill Street in one of the movies). Classic!

How can this only have 7.4k views, 54 likes, and just three (now four) comments? It's a great first outing for Karloff as Wong, and an overall excellent film, though the series improves save for the one starring #1 Chan son Keye Luke, no offense to Mr. Luke whom I loved in the Chan films and in the 1st Kung Fu TV series. I'm surprised this doesn't have 100k views and 10k likes plus a myriad of comments.

Is it just me or was this same gimmick (SPOILER: the poison gas-filled glass globe shattered by a specific tone) utilized in Charlie Chan in Egypt as well as at least one Sherlock Holmes film (and possibly various other films & series)?

If only society would let honest, firm, take no shit types like Grant Withers, have full control of investigations, (see the 15:10 mark), we'd have less $ and time wasted, and more perps behind bars where they should be.
