- It was reported at West Peachtree Street between 12th and 13th Streets Monday.
Atlanta Police and other law enforcement responded to an active shooter call in Midtown on Wednesday, May 3 where several people were hurt. At least one person was killed.

People need to ask themselves how effective would a gun ban be? It's like putting a ban on illegal drugs. you still have drug dealers out on the streets. and you still have people buying the illegal drugs off the streets. So by putting a gun ban in place it would only disarm law abiding citizen the Criminals will still have their guns regardless

It has worked wonders in other countries. Maybe not those where law isn´t forced strongly. But for Europe it is much harder to obtain an unlicenced gun rather than a knives of some sort. Anyone applying for a gun has to take a background check, pass an exam and psychological and medical evaluation. Unregistered guns are seldom used. State keeps track of guns. Guns designed for an attack not self defence like AR-15 are banned. People can´t buy guns from a supermarket and those who own guns can´t use a legal gimmick to bypass a background check or an exam. Just like driving a car, if you want it you have to prove your worthiness. It can´t be taken like a legal right rather a privilege and a commitment. This approach has been working well for the rest of the world, Australia had a spree killing and once the personal firearms have been brought to minimum, there has been no spree killings or serial killings by firearms. Sure if you already have illegal guns by hundreds of thousands already this won´t make much difference. But still...

Starting from 2nd grade all school students should be mandated to carry a sub machine gun like the mp5 and a back up pistol with atleast 5-10 mags.
