No to resolutions but I do choose a WORD.Last year was FORWARD. 2024 will be THANKFULNESS. Blue and red are among my favorite colors.
No new years resolution. I want to be in my Bible more, spend more time praying for those who need it asking for blessing for my family and needs for me. Praise God continually through my day and spending time not w fear but w Thanksgiving and pondering things. Look through God's eyes at the world. Stay calm and stitch more and begin quilting after a 20 year absence. My heart is red and my very favorite color is blue!!! Oh to accomplish all this relying on God's grace!!! Amen and He returned to heaven in the same body He accended in. He did not return to His pre earthly body. His perfect unmarred hands and feet. He did and does sacrifice living now in that body. That body has real arms and I can't wait till I'm in His arms and know I'm safely home forever!! No more depression or pain or sorrow. I found that I write my abc's on the paper edge. And I write beginning w each letter words of what heaven is not then turn it over and do the same with Heaven is ...
I hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas! I don’t make resolutions but I do like to pick a word of the year. I haven’t come up yet with a word for 2024 but for 2023 my word was joy! So it was a good word to reflect on and to remember each day to find my joy! Red
It was so nice to see your video today amongst all the Christmas preparation busyness and it was such a pleasure to relax and see all the beautiful projects that you've been working on. I love the wooden spool thread holder and pin cushion that you made - that's such a great idea. The Christmas ornaments that you made for your family are so beautiful and it's always a treat to see the samplers that you've worked on. I don't make New Years resolutions and instead seem to look at each year as a fiscal thing starting from my birthday in March and I just choose a few things that I'd like to be better about and focus on those things for the upcoming year. Christmas is often a difficult time of year for me so adding the pressure of a new year's resolution just doesn't appeal to me. I love reading books too and based on the books you've mentioned, you might like Louise Penny. She has a series that started many years ago and currently she is up to her eighteenth book in that series, called the Inspector Gamache Series. They're all well written and fun and clean. My husband has a unique birthday-he was the 10th child, born the 10th month on the 10th day. I always love your videos. I try to make New Year’s resolutions. I think my goals are too lofty. I can usually stick to them for 1 to 3 months, but they kind of peter out after that. That red sampler would make a great Valentine stitch! Happy New Year!! ❤

Merry Christmas Celeste! Wishing you and your family a most blessed Christmas season. I have 5 Christmas wips I have been actively working on during December and none are finished. While I am anxious for new starts and like you, return to samplers I think I will keep stitching them to try to get at least one or two finishes….but then I should get going on some Valentines and I have some St. Patrick charts..lol..I never started my 40th anniversary chart from March so maybe I will pull that out for a new Year start....an anniversary ornament! gosh I did not think of that! see what happens! lol..I know you get it! Enjoy your family and their vacation time. As for resolutions…life gets in the way..need to get back to reading, need to sandwich and quilt at least 15 quilt tops…Actually my one resolution is no more stitchy purchases in 2024. Stitching from stash should hold me for many years… need to be thankful, mindful and enjoy what I have..which is enough to open a shop. I really plan to stick to that this year.🙄🤞🏻🎄

I loved seeing all your "wips". My favorites are the samplers by the young girls. I don't usually make a New Years resolution however I did last year. I started going to the gym every second day and I have continued my resolution to date. I would love to complete a red or blue sampler in 2024. I watch Jacob at Modern Folk Embroidery so lots to choose from! Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Good to see your video this evening! I stopped making resolutions years ago, as mine was always weight related too. But I have done the word of the year, and that has been good. I kind of lost my stitching mojo, but I'm hoping to get back into it soon. I'm anxious to pick it back up, but then I go down the UA-cam rabbit hole and there goes my time. Haha! Its okay though. I love your samplers. I'll be starting one shortly after the new year as I still need to order the floss and fabric. I loved that you shared your books...maybe a new segment in the New Year? I love to read too, and belong to the book club that's held at my church...just a small group of us, but it's fun and you're guaranteed to read at least nine books in a year. But I always pick up books from my stack as soon as I'm done with book club. Love to read! For several years, I have done what Gretchen Rubin suggests, and I write goals, not resolutions. Some are very simple, some are larger. I've found it effective for me to get things accomplished that I might not otherwise. So this year I have my 24 in 24 list. I enjoy thinking about the goals, and I really enjoy when I can cross them off!

I’ve done resolutions in the past but not in recent years. My most memorable one was to cook a different dinner throughout the year giving myself time to eat out and to repeat a meal upon request. Ended up cooking 294 different meals. Goal was to utilize all the cookbooks I had collected. Blue
February is my birthday and I love the red chart. I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions.
I try to make them resolution a thing of my pass , I get so sad that I didn’t even think of that one half way into the year 😮 so I just live and enjoy what God has given me to do thank you for sharing you progress I love RED and BLUE want to have a red wall in my bed room

And have a haed half done that I would love to finish by end May for hubbys birthday as he chose it, or if not our 47th Anniversary in July. Merry Christmas and happy new year! I don’t usually make New Year’s resolutions. I do like to go into the new year with some goals so if anything, that is what I do. I’m also not real strict on myself especially with craft items. The red and blue samplers that Lori Holt has been doing for family members has really got me thinking but that may be for 2025. 😅

Your son made some background noise and I thought my son was calling to me. They sound the very same. I love adult male children :) Word of the year for 2024 is humility. I resolve to listen to Fr. Mike Schmitz Bible and Catechism in a year again next year. Easy way to stay 'in the Word' throughout the day/year. I understand that 'All the Light We Cannot See: A Novel' is a very good book. World War II novel of a young girl who goes blind and her father who teaches her how to navigate and thrive in Paris. I'll start this one after the first of the year.

This year, I'm wanting to become more proficient in fully finishing, to get more fully back to reading, make more quilts and to start , finish and fully finish more cross stitch!!! I've been cutting red, white, and blue quilt kits for the Quilt of Valor program here in our area. Red and blue samplers are stunningly beautiful! I feel you about whether or not to continue on certain projects.
I don’t really make resolutions, per se. I have set up WIPGO boards, and plsy games with some other online groups. That's about the extent of my planning. Lol
I love the red and blue samplers. My late husband's favorite color was blue and he was born in January. I like to stitch and wear red and believe it or not I was born in February. As for New Years resolutions, I don't actually make them. I will make a list of the things I want to accomplish throughout the year like cleaning closets, donating unused items etc. and then cross it off my list when I get that item completed. I guess you could call that a quasi resolution. A really good book to read is The Lost Man by Jane Harper. It is a murder mystery but not like anything by Janet Evanvich et al.

I like clean books too so I like vintage books and classics so I can usually count on those! Love them.
I love the books you mentioned and I want to read Moby Dick in the new year and some more Dickens and Anthony Trollope and reread Little Women and Jane Eyre. I did read some Victorian classics this past summer and fall including The Mill on the Floss, Wives and Daughters, Silas Marner, the Hunchback of Norte Dame and Ivanhoe! Oh and Little Dorrit. Then stopped to read some light Christmas stories. ❤❤❤ Merry Christmas 🎄

BLUE RED I do make resolutions but they are more of a plan for the year. Sometimes I make it and sometimes, I don't. 2024 plans are to begin a new project on the 1st of each month. Something doable and that I want to do for myself. Fill-in time will be for gifts for others.
I also read a lot and if I get into a series that I like, I have to read them all. I read a variety of things but I do love a good mystery. Period pieces are good.
Recently we watched a Christmas movie called A CHRISTMAS CANDLE. It's a period piece about miracles and doing good and kind things for others.
I retired 10 years ago and I'm past making resolutions. I never kept them and that just made me fill guilty, so no more guilt! Bah resolutions and rules! I do what I want, when I want, and if I'm enjoying stitching on something, there's nothing wrong with being monogamous even if just for a few days. May the joy of Christmas be with you and your family!

I found your channel not too long ago and have now caught up and I believe have watched all your videos. I also just sent you a friend request on Good Reads as I think we may like some of the same types of books. I’m a stitcher and quilter as well and some crochet. Just haven’t gotten the nerve up to attempt my own channel and videos. Very nervous and a bit technologically challenged. Christmas blessings to you and your family.

After getting the first one done, I thought this is pretty, now I'm totally obsessed with her charts and the colors they just go amazing together.
I gave up making New Year’s resolutions as I didn’t stick to them. Blue Rhapsody is also the name of my rose so to do a stitch with the same name would be great.

Happy New Year. I'm going to get my unfinished projects under control this year by finishing one a month. Of course I'm not making any promises about what new ones I might start!
I almost always make a resolution and it's usually the same thing, get organized. I really didn't do well with that for many years but in this past month something changed. I actually began making lists of things to do from household chores to sending birthday cards or gifts on time to longer term goals such as planning a trip. I really like me like this and I want to keep it up. 😀 I'm happy that you have all of your children with you. Two of my girls (my third is in England) are coming with their family on the 24th and we'll share our Christmas time meal together. Last night these same two girls took me to downtown Montreal for my secret Christmas present. First they took me to a very nice restaurant where we had time to talk, talk and talk whilst enjoying a very delicious meal. Then we walked over to Place des Arts where I discovered my main gift. It was The Nutcracker done by Les Grands Ballets Canadiens. I'd never seen it and neither of my girls had ever been to any ballets so it was new to them too. We were all thoroughly enchanted and walked out of there with grins on our face. All in all it was a magical evening. I wish you and yours a very very happy holiday season and may 2024 bring you all good health, happiness and prosperity. xoxo

I gave up on New Year's Resolutions years ago. There is too much happening at this time of year to make lifestyle changes. Instead I focus on lifestyle disciplines/alterations during Lent. Forty days seems so much easier to tackle than a full 365 and if successful will give the same results. I have been thinking of making monochromatic samplers of different seasonal colors to change out with my dough bowl and other stitching goodness. I was thinking blue would be good for January and red for February. It is May that I can't make my mind up about for a monthly color.

Red, Blue At this age, I have completely given up on resolutions! I am retired & do what I want, when I want, and only if I feel like doing it!! I have a basket overflowing with kitted charts and my biggest decision of the New Year is what to start next.
