    Durnstein is in Austria

      Yes, he was captured near Vienna and then taken to Durnstein, which is in modern day Austria. It was Bavaria in the 12th century though ☺️

      There's just not enough evidence to definitively say that he was gay. If anything, he was probably bisexual. I didn't mention it as it is just speculation.
