you probably dont hear it enough and i know this projects got you losing your mind, you got this bro, i havent been so invested about someones youtube project before, im excited to see how far youve got it and cant wait to see how it progresses
Most of the time when you see someone make something on UA-cam they're using a million dollars worth of machine tools none of us have. It's cool and all but few are inspired to start making things on their own with such a barrier to entry. I really appreciate that you're showing people just have far you can go just with bone headed dedication even when the road is bumpy.
He has certainly helped inspire and motivate me to go out and start hitting things with hammers. Made a few cool things that my nieces and nephew have been enjoying.
Bruh I'm not gonna lie to you. You could have just made a knife that is on a gimble and we all would have supported lmao. Its awesome you're putting so much devotion into this though. I really hope your mind doesn't break
Im a huge fan of the full disclosure method of making these vids. It helps others know your process and what can go wrong and how to fix it.
I’ve been following you for a while and this is one of my favorite videos. The struggle is real and all the effort to make even the smallest amount of progress is reality. You’re doing awesome and keep it up. Thanks for sharing the struggles as well as the successes.
Why does this guy not have millions of subscribers his builds are top tier and is dedicated as heck to make his stuff accurate to the game, this guy deserves a big pp award
This is so much better, then no videos.
It's more entertaining to watch how you come to the solutions then a polished demo.
Awww I’m so sorry that this project is being such a pain, I’d have given up by now but you are remarkably stubborn which I totally mean in complimentary sort of way. I know that you will conquer this thing eventually.
I love the honesty here and all the detail. You got this Jairus don't give up.
The other comments say it all, we feel for ya, Jairus. So frustrating when things don’t work out, but I’m impressed by your determination man!
Jairus, please take care of your stress, and mental health, we (the fanbase, as far as I am aware of) care about you and want to see you doing good, so please take a minute to rest, btw, does anyone know about the Aquaman project?
Its in a slight pause period from what I understand. He's still working on it, but he has a LOT of very minute and finicky work that isn't very good YT material, so vids are on hiatus for now. But the project is still very much alive and nearing its inevitable climax
I feel like Jairus is the EXACT OPPOSITE of Jlazer. All of the effort and nitty gritty detail goes into all of your builds (probably mostly because of all the carbon fiber you use) and Jlazer literally just slaps some tin foil on the side of a bic lighter and calls it a day. Not meant as a burn, I love Jlazer too but Jairus is a fabrication god by comparison.
Unrelated but I fuckin hate welding aluminum too.. Its just the least satisfying metal to weld, and my welds are always sub par.
The fact that you're making these fully functional is insane. That said, take a break and clear your head before you break something else out of frustration lol
You are literally making the perfect sword weapon for anyone to use with Deadly Precision thanks for the Mantis Blades 🗡🛡
You do amazing work man. Your devotion to your projects are what I strive for in life. After this project you deserve a vacation my man.
The struggle is real! Really admire the determination you're showing. Looking forward to the next installment
KEEP IT UP DONT GIVE UP
You've given me so much inspiration for my hidden blade project!!! Thank you for the ideas!
"It broke a little, so I got mad, hit it with my hammer and now it's totaled!" - we've all been there mate.....
Never has such a short sentence conveyed so much pain and frustration, I wish you only good luck and happy times going forwards!
Off been there Don that. The instant regret when you take out your frustration on you workpiece 😂. Feel for you man.
Keep being awesome!
WD-40 for rust prevention works pretty well.
Big ups on the video
I tell how frustrated and over this project you are at this point, but let me just say that I am overly grateful for you persevering despite seemingly endless difficulties and look forward eagerly to seeing the end build!
I’ve been following this for a while now, I am so god damn inspired by your dedication and adaptability. Don’t stop! The end product is going to be fucking awesome
I might not fully understand what you do most of the time, but it remains entertaining! Keep up the good work!
Failures will haooen but were all proud of you no matter what. Your doing wonderful and we all support you fully through thick and thin
The old 2 steps forward "oh shit i broke it" 6 steps back. We have all been there and it is admirable that you showed and owned your mistake.
an entire video of him making a part that he breaks in the end.
i like this realistic content. it shows the struggle of prototyping something new.
I started bladesmithing a year ago, there has been a lot of youtube vids watched but a lot of trial and lots of error, when you do another project looking back the skills you learned will make past projects seem easy.
I wish you would've caught your frustrated reaction on camera, those are always the best parts. I'm excited to see this thing finished! Also, dope background music.
Thanks for sharing your fails. We all have them. Keep at it, you’ll get there.
"I made mistakes" and Cyberpunk 2077 go incredibly well together
Just a tip to make sure your weld doesn't crack for aluminum, rough up the surface you're welding to remove the oxide layer of the aluminum. The oxide layer melts at a higher temperature than the aluminum itself. Or if you're using a machine that has a foot pedal you can raise the amperage and then hit the part hot and fast to get the puddle going and then back off the amperage. Either way you should end up with better penetration than you're getting.
mate you're bloody fantastic. Love your videos. Keep it up!
Awesome!!! Keep it up - somebody has got to do it!!! 👍😊🙏
your candid nature and showing us your failures helps teach us more than a happy shiny video ever would. The bit where you showed you making the part that you used to hit it with a hammer made me rofl. I can't wait to see this when its done. You're making a matching pair right? jk
This is going to be so awesome
I remember back when all we had was hype for cyberpunk (I didn't personally but I still hoped for the best although expecting the worst which is what we got) I was really drawn to this project then the game dropped and I played got bored and never even came back to this series although it's cool as hell
Jarius, I feel like we'd be friends if we ever met!
Good luck on this project. Take a moment if you need a break. You got this
Man Jairus is easily my favourite UA-cam Maker. Content just feels really personal, professional, and it's just some of the most entertaining. And knowing there are mistakes just make it all feel so much more grounded and human. Love your content.
Keep up the good work! 👍
And pssssstttt! Don't tell the Hacksmith, but I think it channel is better :O
I’ve never clicked so fast on a video lmao
same
Making Mantis blades with Jairus of All, a 24 part series.
Love the content, no matter what happens. Keep it up
The only reason people make mistakes is cause they are trying. Can’t wait for the next vid. 🧡👊🏻🇨🇦
Not gonna lie, I was fuckin with the music this Morning eating a Peek Freans cookie.. You know what I'm talking aboot.
"Luckily, the nuts stick out far enough" ~ She, 2021.
remember to heat aluminum with a torch before bending and twisting, it will be way more forgiving.
Love every video Dude! Keep it up👍🏼👍🏼
Sorry to hear about the problems mate. Loving the videos though 👍.
The end of this video really displays life with ADHD, I feel you bro
I feel like a CAD model would save many multiples more time than it would take to create, as you would have a solid plan of how the parts fit together from the start, meaning you spend less time building parts that you don't end up using.
For me the effort to do this right is most importantand i enjoy your videos way more than those of hacksmith for example. Yeah they finish Quick and have army of cnc machines but they make it real like bionic hand from Donald duck magazine
Aluminum is soft bro. But I'm laughing with you, honest. I wish more makers would include the hiccups in their videos.
He said it! Blue Dykem!
Awww - not something we all haven’t done :) (the it broke, so I smacked it, and totally wrecked it)
Well, it is okay to let out your anger, but I would suggest to not let it out on the piece you are working on 😂😂
Anyway, can't wait for the next update, good luck and have faith, you got this ✌✌
You mentioned the surface rust and I noticed its all over your drill press and other things. Use some wd40 and spray it all and scuff with a red Scotch Brite to clean it. Wipe it all down then treat it with paste wax. Does wonders.
nice
Santa baby.
Cool facial hair
have you considered forging the bends & curves, aluminium can be forged just have to be carefull not to overheat it, use of crayon to check temp can also be useful, there would be a learning curve but would make a more interesting video than watching welding fails
drunk...but still...I feel and respect you so much...going trough with a project, just as you've envisioned it is frustrating...admiration...also, maybe do the same thing with the arms that you did, but flip them ?....perhaps more clearance?
As for that last piece would it be possible to reshape the piece so that it doesn't have to stick out and could spin around and the part it hits be the stop point instead?
Or does it have to connect off at that angle and not angle the other direction?
Oh gnarly!+
Have you tried super cooling pieces that need to be press fit?
Way to overcomplicate everything lol
But thanks for the content. Enjoyable.
Vacation soon? You look/sound burned out.
You would probably benefit from a fractal vise
We all have days like this mate. Know exactly how you feel. Hang in there
epic
Lol I'm so ghetto I woulda just welded a stack of washers to space the arm out haha.
The year is 2077, we've developed the technology to put mantis blades in your arms, but one lone man on UA-cam still persists on his project to make functional mantis blades from a video game 57 years ago
👍
At this point is easier to make a gun
Dude. Take a break. You’re gonna burn yourself out and stress out over this project. Just take a couples weeks or however long you need off and come back when you’re ready to finish it.
Maybe instead of making the mantis blades you should improve your welding skills because even though they saying a grinder is a welders best friend if your welds are shit nothing will help
"I made mistakes"
like buying cyberpunk?
real project roadmaps
just like real women
have curves. And not all of them are where you want them.
Hey you need to use word optimization because you are way too talented to get these low of views honestly. Maybe even go back and re-upload all your old videos using hashtags to make more revenue...
