Oh, Portwell stans, what a disastrous week it is for us. Why does this show keep destroying our strongest ships? And why didn't we get to see Val in this episode? There's only one left, and boy, am I mad. I truly wish these edits wouldn't get so sad. I also feel like our community is getting smaller and a lot of people have given up on Portwell, and that makes me sadder.

When Gina said “maybe is all I’ve ever known” really broke me. She’s been through so much in her young life
This was edited beautifully. I’m heartbroken. I have wanted EJ and Gina together since season one. I saw the connection they had. And that came true in season two. Their development was amazing and it was really lovely to watch. It’s clear the writers broke them up just for rina. It’s stupid. I am positive that if Nini was still here, they wouldn’t have done all this. Also the way the show treated EJ this season is horrible. He grew so much last season. He quickly became my favorite character. And again it’s clear the writers did him dirty just for rina to happen. I am angry. EJ deserves happiness. He was so excited to spend the summer with Gina. It’s obvious that he loves her which makes this even worse. EJ was so suddenly handed a big responsibility that just flipped his whole summer. He didn’t ask for any of this. And then the thing with his dad wanting to send him away which made EJ even more stressed. Gina was so excited about being neighbors and he wanted that too. That’s the main reason why he’s putting his all into the show. He knew that if his dad saw all his success, that he’d be able to stay in Salt Lake for a whole year. I whole year with Gina. He wanted that more than anything. He was fighting for her but he was also so distracted and overwhelmed with the show. He never wanted Gina to feel like a maybe. He’s never seen her that way. If the writers just gave them one long and deep conversation, they’d be able to listen and understand where the other is coming from. Gina didn’t want to break up but she didn’t want to feel forgotten about. This could have been easily fixed. It’s not fair that they had to ruin them for Ricky to get another girlfriend. I’m not just mourning EJ and Gina as a couple but their friendship as well. Their duo was everything. From when they first started scheming and were sort of like frenemies. Then they became friends and then really good friends. And they started to develop feelings for each other. EJ and Gina’s story was beautiful. I’ll always hold a special place in my heart for them and the show as well. After the finale I’m done with this series. I’m really sad about this because it’s been a comfort to me during a really dark time but I just can’t stand to see portwell broken up and sad. Especially EJ since I know rina is going to happen. It’s too much for me to see him hurt. My endgame will always be EJ and Gina. They are perfect for each other and it’s infuriating that the show barely gave them a chance. The whole last episode of season two was about second chances. EJ and Gina deserved that.
tim literally said that he changed his mind and wanted to explore ricky and gina while they were shooting episode 5 of season 1 because he saw the chemistry between josh and sofia. plus the script for s2 was written way before olivia's breakout album dropped so no, even if nini stayed, gina and rick would have still gotten together
i feel Portwell has better chemistry…

@@aleksandrabobis7062 I agree. I just can’t ship rina after seeing season 2. EJ and Gina are good together. It really sucks the way the writers treated them this season. One conversation would have saved them but the show is too obsessed with rina fan service.
in my opinion, i don't think they broke up gina and ej for rina. portwell fell apart for reasons outside of that just like rini fell apart for other reasons. like gina said, they barely spent anytime together this summer. and yes, ej was thrown into the role as director and didn't really have much of a choice, but i think he could've tried a little harder to make time for gina. she tried so hard to be a good girlfriend for him since it was he first time.
i also don't think it would make a difference if nini was there because rini was somewhat toxic. they never were able to communicate clearly with each other and ricky even said one of the only reasons he really was still trying to make it work between them before they broke up was because nini was all he had ever known. they grew up together and she felt safe to him. he stayed with her because he was scared of things changing. i think even then he knew he felt something for gina and he was scared of that
also, gina wasn't focused romantically on ricky this season. sofia herself said in an interview,
"i definitely think a lot of this season, gina has not been thinking of ricky romantically. you know, there's been like some flirtatious moments, but i think a lot of that is just their natural chemistry and banter. but she really was wanting to pursue a relationship with ej and wanting to have a future with him, as she said in that breakup scene. so i don't think she was really entertaining the idea of another guy in her head at all. and ricky just continuously showing up for her, which is something that she wants.so i think that definantly is standing out to her."

the portwell breakup was sad because i did love them together, but like gina said, i don't think they really even gave it a chance to start so i had a feeling it was coming.
i definantly DID NOT ship rina s1 or s2 but then after seeing the chemistry between them this season and then looking back at the past two seasons, it makes you realize that it was meant to be them all along and how they've slowly been building this romance since the very beginning and honestly it's beautiful.
and it's not just the fact that they have amazing chemistry together, but also how they emotionally connect with each other, even before they had chemistry. they have similar backgrounds have have both been through so much which makes it easy for them to connect and relate to each other. they can go to each other when they know no one else will understand what they're going through. they've always just been there for each other without question even from the very beginning.
they just have a bond that was as friends before they ever thought of each other romantically and i think that's the best foundation you can have for a relationship.

Noémie, I'm so sorry that it's come to this, but at the same time you choosing to edit them to this song sent me. Such a great choice, one of my favorites if I'm honest and probably being biased too 😅, but still this was so moving. You really captured all the characters' pain in this. The edit is amazing. I hope they'll have a second chance though with the finale. 🙏

I stopped watching season three half way bc I’ve been so busy and haven’t had time in so long pero I’m so upset the writers broke them up, idk how they broke up cause like I said I haven’t seen the whole season but yeahh.
Now that I've had a chance to cry to your video hahaha there's another thing that's bothering me. Gina's lines of "We were great together for 5 minutes at the beginning of the summer" and "can it really be over if it never really got a chance to start?" like...they got together before summer right? did that not count? EJ deserves so much better! Ricky did it with EJ and Nini and now EJ and Gina. He doesn’t deserve anyone but being by himself. He acts like he’s so nice and cares about EJ when all he ever does is hurt him. Ricky slapped EJ like i don’t know how many times, and hit him with a basketball. Straight up abuse. EJ deserves better than to be around Ricky because he hurts him. Love you Eej ❤❤

They better get back together I know they’re going to try to push her and Ricky together but if they do I will die because she liked Ricky but then Ricky was going for Nini when Nini was with EJ and now that he can’t have Nini and EJ is with Gina Ricky wants her NO EJ wasn’t always like the best guy but in The end of season one and in season two he started getting better and season two EJ and Gina‘s friendship was amazing and when they got together in the end it was adorable and just because Ricky is happy in a relationship doesn’t mean that they should destroy Gina and EJ‘s relationship because I think it’s the happiest relationship we’ve had in a while other than Seb and Carlos and then they were like OK well we want drama because we need drama but EJ all he was trying to do this summer was stay with Gina sooo Rina is a absolute no for me PORTWELL FOREVER!!
Also I just want to say that Ricky broke up with Lily less than two weeks ago and it’s not fair EJ just graduated and he’s got all this responsibility and toxic parents. I know Ricky never loved Lily but if u think about the timeline he broke up with Nini previously too. I don’t think he’s ready for a stable relationship even if it’s rina
s1: Ricky hit EJ with the basketball because he was mad he "stole" Nini when in actuality EJ and Nini got together after Ricky and Nini broke up because Ricky couldn't or wouldn't admit his feelings for her, and I get why, but my guy instead of dealing with it lashed out at EJ.
s3: Ricky slapped EJ because he was mad he "stole" Gina when in actuality EJ and Gina got together after Ricky, several times, ignored Gina and wanted to be with Nini, which of course he loved her. And he also knew about how EJ felt about Gina and how he was scared about approaching a relationship with her after the whole RINI/EJ fiasco and still instead of dealing with whatever he's going through he lashed out at EJ.
I feel like we are just disheartened because their fall out was so poorly handled in my opinion. Yes Gina was right she was a "maybe" and she has every right in not wanting to be a maybe but she also knew the reason why EJ was not paying that much attention to them. It wasn't because he didn't like her anymore on the contrary he was doing what he was doing to be with her. And EJ with his lies, that I understand but were messy, in wanting to protect her and not worry her he pushed her away. If they had just talked! Because I seriously don't see Gina interested in Ricky anymore. What made me mad is how it was show that EJ doesn't really have any friends to talk to about anything. Everyone knew everyone's struggles and were supporting of one another except for him. The guy is stressed out of his mind because he has no idea what to do with his life now that it isn't planned out for him and Gina is still in high school she deserves not to worry about all of that yet. Ugh I'm mad, I'm sad and I don't know if I should still have hope. I think if they do get back together it won't be next ep, it could be next season if they work things out but not next episode.

Like everything EJ has done this season was to ensure he would be able to be with Gina in the long term (and not have to move) and now he basically did it all for nothing 😭
Also I’m sure Ricky’s secret that he has a crush on Gina will likely come out in the last episode which is just gonna make things worse. 😔
Same I want EJ to fight for Gina and apologize to her when he realizes his mistakes because I know he didn’t mean to hurt her in the season finale. Even though EJ made some mistakes I don’t think he was a bad boyfriend to Gina he was really trying his best but he is so stressed.
I’m so sad they broke up! My fear now is that the show will throw her and Ricky together. I hope not but seems like it could be headed in that direction. I think if EJ had managed his time better and not made so many excuses to not spend time with Gina that they could have made it. I hope they get back together down the road. Portwell forever! They won’t get back together tho. They were never meant to be together. Also the show was foreshadowing their breakup from the very beginning.

@@xcreativechristyx it’s also kind of naive to think they get back together… I mean I get that you want them back together but maybe you could stop thinking about ships and relationships first and watch how EJ made Gina feel!! He was hurting her more and more by turning her down, lying to her and ignoring her. And also the age gap was always a huge impact for them that they couldn’t ignore. I mean EJ already graduated now and was already barely spending time with her in camp! How do you think it would work when he would head off to college?
