      Good morning Jeff. Did you install the get hub code to set up the device handler? If you look at the description under the video you will see that it’s necessary to set up the device handler for the dome alarm to get this functionality. After setting up the device handler go into the device list and make sure to select the dome siren as the “type” of device. Here is the get hub code and the article for setting up the siren: Dome Siren Device Handler (RAW GitHub Code): tinyurl.com/ydfljzx2
      SmartThings Community Article on Dome Siren: community.smartthings.com/t/release-dome-siren-official/75499
      Note: you will not see all the bells and chimes displayed in the new app if you look at the device properties. However you should be able to see the Dome Siren display in speaker companion when setting this up. Let me know.

      Hello Frank. Thanks for your question. Yes this device will be viewable within the speaker companion app assuming that you use the device handler that I referenced in the video. Please look at the comments below the video. There you’ll find an article and the GitHub Raw Code which is needed for installing the device handler. I hope this helps.

      Yeah I did setup the device handler and the siren shows up in smartthings the new app, but it still does not show up in the companion app. I have removed the device and device handler to try and add it again. Added the handler added the siren still only shows up as siren and not in companion app. Any thoughts?

    • @BudsSmartHome
      @BudsSmartHome  3 роки тому

      Frank, did you select “custom message” under “play a notification”? You then need to type “Chime1” under “Play this message”. Under the heading “On the speaker player“ You should be able to select your Dome siren.

    • @frankgarofalo9335

      @@BudsSmartHome yes, it only lists my Sonos speakers not my dome siren. I actually tried all and it does not show up in the companion app. I am using the new smartthings app not the old one. Also in smartthings it is lists as a siren and once I add the device handler and hit the dome button 3 times smartthings auto adds it. I am assuming that is bc of the device handler being added.

    • @BudsSmartHome
      @BudsSmartHome  3 роки тому +1

      Frank, if the Dome Siren still doesn’t show up, then go into the SmartThings IDE and check to see if the Dome Siren in in your list of "Devices". If so, edit the device and check to see what "Type" of device is assigned. My chimes stopped working recently and the Dome Siren was not displaying in Speaker Companion. Checked the "Type" assigned to the device and I changed it form Z-Wave Device to "Dome Siren". It is now showing in Speaker Companion and "Chime1" is working again! :)
