You can't tell me if a campaign was started to oust Massey, those funds would accumulate quickly IMO. I also think whatever resources Maynor would ask for alumni and others would provide.
I see A&T hiring b4 we do. Since we have a year left in Massey's contract, we cant offer him nothing but a plate of food at the tailgate parry. Lol. I don't see him coming back to a D2 school. He'll probably get a job as a Coordinator, if not a head coaching job. Perhaps fellow Ram, Terrence Graves, Coach at Southern, willl offer him a position. Whatever happens, I wish him well. As you said WSSU was a Powerhouse under Maynor. I miss those glory days! Look at me talking about football as if I know what I'm talking about. Lol
Some people want to relive past glory, but reaching out to the past might not be a good ideal (ECSU learned that the hard way with Johnnie Walton). Maynor to Elizabeth City State, might be something though. With out of state student cap being 50 percent now, he could pull talent from the 757 in Virginia and 252 in North Carolina (which has not been done in awhile).
Get him. If possible, bring him back. I for one am willing to take that chance. I will gladly donate to a fund that pays Robert massey to leave. this last season was decent. However I feel the same about Massey as I did about Kermit Blount. When he first got the coaching job I said in my opinion that he was not a good coach.( i am sanitizing my language).
Good commentary. I'm glad you mentioned the Hayes factor. I keep telling folks that was a big reason for Maynor's success with us, and you didn't mention his recruiting skills., and connections. I also try to get folks to realize that his nephew coaches the Mules now. "Amazing" that they're winners all of a sudden.
Good stuff, Steve. The reminiscing was beautiful. 😂
@@bryanfulford6620 thanks! I stumbled on this photograph…it kinda made me laugh…

@@dstgirl9of9 Your opinion is valid here
Don't think so, as it seems like they already have someone in mind to replace their current head coach.
Ayyyye my man SG
You know I gotta support the channel but I think we need to bring him back
There are examples - Doug Williams and Willie Jeffries - but they weren’t fired from other jobs.
