We have Shandy in the US. It's a popular summertime drink in the summer when it gets hot. Great for visits to the lake. We also call it Radler here in the US.

For my tea tonight I had one piece of fish a dozen chips a tin of mushy peas and a slice of bread and butter. I was full up after that! Beard, you're the man!
We drink shandy in Italy too - we call it birra e gazzosa (beer & lemonade). It was a favourite in my native Liguria region (bira e gazzeu) 🙂. Bricklayers loved the stuff. It was never canned, you always mixed beer and lemonade on the spot. Now German style Radler can be found everywhere.

The classic U.K delicacy, curry sauce is the only condiment, sod the gravy and mush peas, at least make it look like you struggled. I applaud you for eating a spam fritter, I couldn’t, give me a crispy battered sausage anyday!

I grew up putting vinegar on chips and it’s delicious 😍 fish n chops is so popular here in Australia also, i love the corn dogs, not sure if you have them there and the chiko rolls are so good.
We have sheep dogs, we don't grow much corn here so that specific breed of dog isn't of much use to us, there's no corn for it to guard so it would be cruel to breed them.

This yank got hooked on Shandy when I was a young kid. My grandfather would come over from England and make them with the closest thing he could get in the USA. Guinness Stout and 7-Up. I'm not an alcohol fan but in the heat of summer I find them refreshing and nostalgic. :)

I love Shandy, here in the Netherlands we also drink it, we also know it by a other names, like Snow White. I have also drunk it many times in France and know it is also available in some Spanish speaking countries. So not purely English I'm afraid.
Fish and chips smothered In gravy is tradition in this part of Yorkshire it’s not fish chips without it 😂 oh and dandelion and burdock but as to be bass

I live in Canada and my mom used to drink shandy in the summer at our cottage. She wasn't much of a drinker, enjoyed the occasional gin and wink or wine at Christmas, but she would have a shandy when my dad was having a beer or two at the cottage.

With your question about whether or not there are shandies in other countries - The answer is yes - It's called a radler in Germany and i forget what it is in French but it does exist there as well - Look forward to seeing more posts. Mr beard the thing you referred to as a scallop in Scotland is actually known as a fritter , it's a thick cut sliced potato deep fried in batter which is very nice indeed 😁
Me and partner love watching, but it does either make us hungry and feel sick 😂 we’re both live in Wigan and from Wigan we’re known for our PIES! I would love you do a pie challenge and see how many you can finish.
I would like to know what bardock and dandelion tastes like. Also another sauce to explore for the fish is tartar, I like it on fried fish anyhow. And I guess the potato pancake is kind of similar to hushpuppies, I always have hushpuppies with fried fish.
In the caribbean we have our version of Shandy as well. Ours instead of just being Lemon-lime flavoured drink can be made with any drink. The ones most common is ginger beer and sorrel in addition to the lemon-lime.

I live in Australia, my Aunty came here from Poland when she was a toddler (maybe 3yrs old) after the war, so she grew up here. When I was 12 she came to stay at our house for a week or two and mixed and gave me some shandies, so at one point Aussies must have drank them too. I don't hear of them over here anymore.

Scallops are very popular in Waterford, Ireland. Nowhere else here has them to my knowledge. Wexford have something similar called 'Rissoles', which are fluffier. Both super tasty!
🥺 R.I.P fork...😔.....cutlery abuse is largely hidden from the public view..it’s a growing problem that one day most of us will have to admit to or at the very least, witness. Sad sad...that fork should not have been away from its mother.

Shandy exists in a lot of places outside of the UK but it's named differently. In Greece for example we know it by its German name, radler.
