  • In this video I will show you How to clean the rangefinder in Olympus 35 RD.
Take good care when cleaning the silver side of the glass elements.
I use "PEC-PAD" lens wipes and "Eclipse" cleaning solution, and also lighter fluid.

Thank you very much- I don't know yet if it makes sense to clean it on my 35RC- but good to know that seems rather easy to to.

Mike, that was an excellent video. You showed how to do what could be a daunting task in simple and easy to understand steps which is of great help, especially for those who may not be very technically skilled such as myself. Thank you.

You could wrap your lens cleaning cloth around a Q-tip or cotton swab. This would get you into tight spots with good control to clean the surfaces. Before doing that I would lightly blow out any loose dust particles with a bulb syringe. Nice explanation on disassembly.

Thank you! Thanks to this video I cleaned the viewfinder of my Olympus 35RC and it's like new now! The viewfinder is clear and the rangefinder patch is perfect.
The only thing is that I found a kind of mini metal filament (a kind of spring...) that was wandering around in the camera... This part must be used to make the needle of the speed indication in the viewfinder come back when you switch to a higher speed, the only thing that never worked well on my camera... I'd like to put it back, but I don't see how to do it. If you know something about it... But it's not a big deal, we can do without the speed reminder in the viewfinder...

Thanks for video! Very helpful. Unfortunately my second lens element won’t come out. It sits so tight! Any tips how to unscrew? Hammer maybe 🤔

Hi! Thanks for the video. The ranger finder in my Olypus 35RC is very faint making it very difficult to focus. Is there a way to fix this ?

What’s the name of the ‘rubber tool’ which you use at 3:31?
