Great video, man. I find more people getting into bear hunting like myself and these little refreshers are not only entertaining but contain great reminders on where to start your journey. Keep it up!
Man I am also in northwest montana and next Friday can't get here fast enough. You make some great videos and I think you should have a lot bigger of a following
Thanks for the vid 4 years in no bear all self taught lol I do the same thing with Google Earth I can get lost on so many dream hunt spots here in Washington
Ya'll look like a bunch of good chill hardworking dudes. I loved your video. I live in Kalispell and absolutely love hunting bears. Should pull off a hunt with you guys
Thanks for this video! I'll be taking these tips in for my spring bear hunt this year. Western Montana hunter here also. Hoping to get my first bear this year.
I get a bear tag when deer hunting, just in case, but I think they coat that tag with bear repellent because I never find a bear when I can legally take one. Edit, I learned quite a lot from this video, but where I live, Spring Bear is not possible. How about a fall bear video?
Nice video, I am in initial preparation to make an out west Persuit of a Black bear. Been pretty sucessful hunting PA and NJ for 20 years. Definitely a different world in the west. Thanks for the pointers.
I’d look on the north sides of the canyons where there huckleberries! Down here in MT the bears love a good huckleberry patch and shouldn’t be too hard to find! Good luck
Tips for e-scouting for guys coming from east side of country? I did my first bear hunt this past spring in idaho- I e-scouted a ton before that trip and it wasn’t enough. When you have no idea what terrain is like it’s hard to narrow down to a unit, let alone picking random spot on a map. We don’t have the option to scout it ahead of time in person, and we have limit on days. Wondering what advice you have to help narrow focus down for people that have no way of scouting other than e-scouting
@@huntingforfood7107 I found a couple guys will to help and they definitly sent me to some good starting point. Most people are afraid you’ll steal spot- which unfortunately happens….. so I understand why most are tight lipped. There are just certain units I’m tempted to try and it’s huge to be able to ask someone whose been in that unit about terrain or road access, burns…..
Thanks so much! I’m finally making it back home for a bear hunt after being stationed in the south the last couple years. Great info. How far do you typically stay away from any established trail? Thanks
Thanks for the video. I'm learning hunting now. I go backpacking and have encountered bears most times on marked human trails. Why don't you protect yourself from ticks with permethrin? You treat your clothes with it, lasts 30 days about.
Just curious? I hunt in California and seen the same exact brown bear in the same area just before season opening. Do bears move around or will they stay in the same area as long as they have food and water?
Local montana guy here from billings. Been hunting most of my life just got in to bear 3 years ago no luck yet. This video helps alot I hunt the Pryor side by warren opening weekend the quota is low but see alot of bear taken out. Would love to do a colab or hunt together mabey get me my first. My channel is MONTANA VIEWERS one word. Let me know what you think.
Great video! Spring bear is an amazing pursuit. Your comments about wolves and elk are mostly incorrect. First, elk abundance in Wyoming and Montana is the highest it’s been in over a century, even with increased wolf numbers. How do you explain that? I am less familiar with Idaho. Second, the vast majority of adult elk mortality is human caused. Look at almost any study of hunted elk populations. Distribution of elk is a different topic. Third, the “Canadian” wolf comment is just false. I’m happy to provide specific references if anybody would like them 👍🦌🐺 Good luck out there.
"Big Chocolate". Hahaha.. love it. My crew and I will be up in Alberta in '23. Thanks for the content.
Awesome! Good luck to ya!!

Yea find a way to get a hold of someone that hunts that area for Instagram or talk to an outfitter and they should point you in the right direction!

I think it just depends, iv found that bears can be very random. But if they have food and water in an area they’ll have no reason to leave.
Until the mating season, then they will roam all over the place.
Good job young man.
Hey nice video man. Do you hunt 240? Always looking for someone to go with
Yes I have!
Great video, but like most on the topic it’s mostly about sorting bear hunts. Where are the fall bear hunting videos?
Does it get harder to hunt bears later into the season? I am heading out May 15th. I’ve never done spring bear before
