- Wadswick airfield is a “farm strip”. It is smooth and well drained, runway length is 630m x 25m but there is a slope for the first approx. 50m.
There is a good country store and restaurant (The Forage) on site. Landing fee is £10 as a donation to Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
We flew there earlier this year in July for breakfast from EGTK but the weather wasn’t in our favour so we missed out and the restaurant was fully booked so we couldn’t stay for long. Wasn’t the best experience but hey at least the flight was good.
It was a good idea to chop down the trees at the start of the runway :-) The gap gives you a sporting chance.
Hi Rich, yes indeed it was most convenient :) Cheers Chris.
Thanks for posting, what sort of landing speeds are required in your aeroplane please🤔🤔😊👍
Hi, it is 70 knots on approach, slowing to 65 knots over the threshold. Actual touchdown is about 55 knots. Regards, Chris.
