- In this video I review the upcoming Jordan 1 Gore-Text in the light bone colourway. These Jordan 1's are definitely different as they are pretty mcuh completely waterproof! The question is, have Jordan sacrificed quality to do it...?
I also try on the Jordan 1 Gore Tex's with 2 different track pants and take the shoes outside.

Just have to say for the practicality of the gore-tex aj1s: I love in Hawaii, and rain is really inconsistent here. When it rains, it rains hard. If the school day looks rainy, throwing these on wouldn’t be the worst idea 🤷♂️
Here in the middle of the US, we encounter wildly different weather conditions pretty much year round. Lots of rain, lots of snow (usually), so a shoe that I can wear without worrying if my socks get wet, I'm all for it.
I dont consider it a gimmick at all, as people's daily sneaker choices do depend on things like weather.
Now, the AJ1 "prototype" was definitely a gimmick. Lol
I snagged both pairs as of this morning and can’t wait! I live in the PNW so these are a must
No gimmicks here…think it was very smart of them to come out with a waterproof jordan 1 as we know the drastic changes in climate that we see in the states alone and to mention the rest of the world! Weather and climate is so diverse from one state to the next that the gortex waterproof Jordan 1 elements make so much sense to people like myself who live in a state like MN where the weather can change drastically from one day to the next…..
@@makaveli1969 not sure what material the grey part is, but first time I got a little water on them, it left a huge water stain. May keep feet dry, but it clearly dirtys up the material. The entire sneaker should've been Gore-Tex.

One thing I noticed during travel is people sure wear a lot of nice Air Jordan 1s specially in tour spots but with constantly visiting a lot of spots you visit wacky weather; one place raining here... one spot super sunny. So these are perfect for travel with swag
these don't seem a great option for long walks since the Gore-Tex material seems pretty stiff (I've worn mine twice for an average of 4 hours and the little walking I did was really uncomfortable)

As a School Teacher water proof 1s are awesome. I can wear them on rainy days without a worry in the world.
I bike everyday at least 6 miles. Weather can change quite drastically since im in Chicago in just a few hours so these really do help me

The pictures and videos don’t show the color right. Is the “particle grey” pair green? And how much so
@@michaelmastri651most pictures I saw before buying made it look like a true pine green and it pretty much is for the most part. Maybe a shade or two darker. The grey portion(heel panel) is your regular grey. Same as any grey sweats and the swoosh is a reflective grey material. Turns white when lights are on it. Shoe overall is straight fire and is probably neck and neck with the Bred Toe for me.
@@jamesmacpheators7222 yeah I agree they’re super clean. I didn’t hit on them so I’ll probably try to grab the light bone colorway when they drop. If I don’t get them I’ll just grab the particle greys for resale since they’re not too expensive

I missed out on these. Waterproof sneakers make a lot of sense for people using bikes or public transport in places with a lot of rain and who love to wear sneakers

@@clos3005 i work with blood as well! they've held up fine for me. I get saline and water all over the place and still haven't ate shit lol.
@@NutnFancy21 thanks this was exactly what i needed to hear lol i just need them to have no holes waterproof in case we get blood in them and have good grip cause someone ate shit in a freezer🤣 but i cant be wearing lame nurse shoes since we all in scrubs so these at least keep my shoe drip going.
@@clos3005 100 percent bro lol Flex game always on, on and off the clock 💪🏽 they readily available under retail too! They so underrated. The white joints hardest tho! Check the fit, I went true to size and they fit more on the snug size. If you like a little space, go half size up bro bro.

I don’t think it’s a gimmick at all. Goretex is all over jackets and clothing in the PNW of the US, it’s only fitting Nike made a pair of AJ1s to deal with all the rain where their company HQ is.
Color blocking on both gore tex 1's is amazing thinking of copping both
I think these would be very practical for someone in my position. I work on boats and I love the aj1! And the boats I work on are usually high end boats and it is a lot of on water work so these would be perfect! We will see if and when I pick some up!
Wouldn't the saltwater absolutely destroy these shoes though?
Saw these at Jimmy jazz in my size like two months after they released. Went home thinking I would see them again the next week and I’ll buy them but when I returned they were gone 🤦♂️ so I had to just get them on StockX. Luckily I didn’t pay too much over retail but the fees really inflated the total price.
Jordan 1s are a really popular silhouette right now which is why I believe Nike is trying all the “gimmicks” with the model even though for me it doesn’t feel like a gimmick cause I’ve been wanting a stylish shoe that I can wear on a wet day without sacrificing style

Awesome review man! Question about fit, you said the overall fit even with the gore tex tongue is like all other AJ 1s but how about the toe box? Does that material make the toe box more snug or shallow feeling cause it’s thicker? I’m weird about snug toe boxes haha. Thanks and great review. Subbed for sure.

Bro im literally searching and watching some reviews on these ones for hours now and you uploaded.. Sheesh! And personally this is what im looking for considering the rainy season rn here in London. These would be perfect without worrying my sneakers getting ruined from the water and dirt or my socks getting wet. I live in Calgary, Canada and it’s always snowing. So it’s very difficult to wear nice shoes as they always get wet and dirty. This shoe would actually be perfect for me or any sneaker heads who live here. Great review btw

It’s purple around the toe box and tongue, grey in the other spots

These are TTS, but I found the Gore-Tex upper uncomfortably pressing against my toes when walking (as opposed to regular-leather J1s, which are very comfy). I've worn them twice and feels like they're starting to loosen up a bit. On top of that, these are much warmer than leather J1s, which is part of the idea, being waterproof. What are your thoughts on this?

i wanted these when i first saw the set the green ones are ok but these were/are much nicer imo,should have come with extra laces as the black laces look the worst to me,if u have these put sail laces in them.i dont see purple in my pair …these are 7/10
