It's fantastic to have this depth of help via family and extended family. It's also a wonderful bonding experience! Yet many small resellers don't have those family labor resources, so we are limited by our own available hours to expand unless we can hire help, especially if you are alone. That's the barrier. Most of us don't have "we." But we try.

There's nothing wrong with a kid working in their family business like this. My family opened a store when I was a kid. The store was built out front of the house so it was nothing for us to be in and out throughout the day. I have memories of the new price tag tool and wanting to play with it so instead of saying no he showed me and told me to put 1 on each other the boxes. I'd get excited when I got home and there was still stuff to price. I did it so well and often that I started getting paid. That was when I was 6 or 7 and in the same natural progression of my intrest my duties and pay develop to the point I was keeping books and assisting them with taxes as a teenager and went on to enter the "Business World " with much more marketable skills then the majority at the same age. It provided me with opportunities. Plus a lot of self confidence. I think it's wonderful
I also have been putting up listings to donate to Samaritans Purse and the Cajun Military. Thank you for doing the same.

I like bread and butter, I really enjoy this business.
Bread and butter items are super great right now because there's a tipping point around 50 dollars where people really do want to put it on facebook marketplace and get their money back out of it. Feels like picking 20 dollar items up for 2 dollars hasn't slowed down that much since people still have to clear out relatives' houses, move to new states etc. But the $50-200 items are being given away to close friends/family and listed locally on places like offerup and facebook by novice resellers who know just enough to get some money back out of their $45 luluemon jackets, for example. Tried to pick up a large Yeti cooler a few weeks ago and had Grandma schooling me on how much a used one would fetch online, lol.
Gotta put Poncho and Wallen to work now too!!

With all of your different selling platforms, how does one know which one to buy from? Could you make a video on what's the pros and cons from each one from the buyers side.
Princess of Power. (because why not?) Tag sales here were HORRIBLE this year, even the ones that were around. Some weeks I'd have made more money staying home and sleeping! We used to say "buy all Summer, sell all Winter" but it's not that way any more. These days your business model has to be drought-tolerant, because the tag sales that made it rain in the past have dried up. It used to be I'd get two or three really big scores May-July and maybe another one in September. This year the only good scores were in September and October, at charity stores and rummage sales. Rummages sales are fewer and further between too, and not as good as they were. To even get to a halfway (barely) decent yard sale I had to do things I'd never have done in the past including driving further than I'm comfortable with. I can only go out for about 4 hours, if I"m willing to pay the price for days after, and if I find more than $40 in merch it's in a really good week these days. This Summer it was $5-$25 a week. If you need to make a living, it's imperative that you find new sources.
I haven’t been out sourcing for a while. I’m trying to sell some of the stuff I already have first, to make room. I need to be more picky on what I buy. And I have to keep telling myself I can’t keep everything for me 😂
She-Ra Princess of power! Still not as good as He-Man and Battle Cat 😁 It’s always so cool to see kids want to learn and gain experience. It’s certainly a crazy and fun ride reselling. Tell her for pictures, lighting and details are everything.
As for overhead, we unfortunately have to have 2 storage units, but we live with most of our merchandise. It’s not easy. Our house is a warehouse and we can barely move at times. My hubby and i do this together. We source together and he does all the financials and taxes. He also sells on other platforms. I list and ship everything on ebay. We have no outside help, 1. because we can’t really afford to pay anyone else and 2. because we really can’t get anyone else in the house 😅 just praying ebay picks up so we can get this stuff out of our house! It’s been slow for over a year.

How about a charity auction on Dibdit and/or WhatNot and get all your reseller friends to donate time and items to back to back auctions and donate all or a portion of the proceeds to hurricane relief?
