Roof Inspection : Low Slope

Welcome to another inspection video!
In this inspection we get to see a very poorly installed Flat roof system on a house. There are no flanges, improper vents and no Chimney Flashings to say the least. We also discovered 3 layers of roofing!

Hello Schoen, I like your post, I have seen this type of workmanship many a time! You should never judge a book by it's cover, but, it it looks like crap, likely it is crap....
on that note: I have inherited a flat roof such as this one in your post. Mine is 10 yr old of a 30 yr. and It is a Cold Roof with Torch on. The roof is in good shape. There is a Problem with the venting, lots of soffit venting, not enough ridge venting. I've had to pull the ceiling drywall off, also the pink insulation (Paper Back Staples) and yup black mold!... pleas, could you suggest a good way to vent the ridge? I was considering a custom sheet meatal ridge Hat. Driving rain and snow are factors.... I would greatly appreciate any input of direct me to any information, I'm not finding very much on Cold Roofs... Thank you in advance...

Hi Willi. Thanks for the question.
I would look at a steel roof ridge vent like you suggested as they are built the best for snow and rain deflection. Its a bad situation with not many options.
You could also look at ventilation-maximum.com/en/
They have some excellent venting options that keep the vent off the roof during the winter.
