    I created a text logo and wanted to move certain words into a different position. I have tried to do so using the lasso tool but it keeps on moving the entire logo, I'm so frustrated right now, nothing I try seems to be working. Please help.

      Is it a text layer that you are working with? You would have to Rasterize it in order to select and move certain parts.

    Nicely done thank you. I am a beginner and your video hit the mark perfectly - too many supposedly beginners’ videos seem to assume prior knowledge. My slight gripe is the choice of music, a bit too pacy and urgent for my liking but that’s just a personal thing. Thanks again I’m looking forward to watching more of your tutorials.

      Thanks for your comment Ed. I'm glad you got a lot from the video. Sorry you didn't enjoy the music, it is my original song But Ya Get No.... I like to use my music where I can in my videos both to promote it and also to avoid any copyright issues. I find the upbeat music can make a boring subject more interesting sometimes. 🙂

    Hi Barry, thanks for the Lasso Tool tutorial. Question please: In PS Fullscreen Mode, how can I allow my freehand Lasso Tool to run beyond the canvas edge? By default as soon as the freehand Lasso Tooltip reaches the canvas edge, instead of following the selection I'm intending to create past the canvas, it makes a straight running ants line along the canvas edge until my tooltip is back inside the canvas. This is not useful. Making a selection that partly runs beyond the canvas' edge would be convenient especially while feathering at, lets say 200pix. For instance, in PS Fullscreen Mode, the Polygonal Lasso Tool can by default run past the canvas edge. I want the freehand Lasso Tool to do the same. Does anyone know how? ...apart from manually over-enlarging my canvas/background size to allow the tooltip to run past my actual image's edge.

    Why do you not explain how to MERGE the selected elements with the lasso tool and actually get the finalized version of the image?!?!

    • @photographersfreedom
      @photographersfreedom  4 роки тому

      I'm not sure what you mean by "merge the selected elements"? I assume you are talking about the next step after selecting something? What to do with the selection? For example; put it on it's own layer, or onto a different background?
      This video was more about how to use the Lasso tool, the features and techniques of the tool itself. 🙂

      @@photographersfreedom like i had to cover something up with the lasso tool. And them put text over the top of it. But its going onto the background, like under / behind the lasso took cutout that i have place i need it to go above

    • @photographersfreedom
      @photographersfreedom  6 місяців тому

      @mannyvenus this sounds like a layers problem. Have you made sure your text layer is above your cut-out layer?

    • @mannyvenus
      @mannyvenus 6 місяців тому

      @@photographersfreedom i dont know how to do so. What do i press? Please let me know

    • @photographersfreedom
      @photographersfreedom  6 місяців тому

      @mannyvenus the layers panel is on the right-hand side of the PS workspace. Your text layer will be labelled with a T and whatever you have typed into it. Move the cursor onto it, left-click, and drag it above the layer you want it on top of.

    How to use the final "cut" as a new picture....erm you did not tell ...i am sorry i am ne freshie here...

    • @photographersfreedom
      @photographersfreedom  4 роки тому

      You can either right-click inside the selected are and choose "layer via copy" or "layer via cut" depending on how you want to do it. You can also open the selection in Select and Mask and then choose "New Document" or "New Document with Layer Mask" from the Output To drop down menu.
