As a nurse this video was embarrassing in places - I never once flirted with a male doctor or treated then preferentially, if a doctor was respectful and polite to me I would always do my best to help them out male or female. It’s true we can be bribed with chocolates though 🙈
Bruh believe me the internal medicine guys are more egoistic than surgeons. Most of the surgeons I studied with are polite and respect their staff and colleagues unlike medicine people who have this ego of who's right and who's wrong. We surgeons are arrogant but thats diff from ego bruh tbh. Its that attitude that actually helps u do daring procedures and gives u confidence imo.
The thing that annoys me most is that nurses can make assumptions about the type of person I am before they’ve even met me because they’ve encountered arrogant or rude doctors before. It’d be great if we all threw out our assumptions and preconceived ideas about each other.
Yo this looks like they are just telling things based on personal problems and experiences but that can't be applied everywhere ,there are doctors who sit and talks with patient and few more points were actually tbh too genralised . There maybe few who does that but u cant generalise something based on that.
at 4:00, classic male Fy1 who thinks male nurses are non existent, as a charge nurse myself, believe me he needs to learn to respect all nurses, male and female. Please learn during your foundation years to rid your self of this opinion that you waltz on to a ward and the nurses come flocking. I understand this was meant to be tongue in check, but a bit of respect towards your male counter parts doesn't hurt and in the long run will aid you in progressing though your medical career.
There are certainly many male (and excellent) nurses. But you're right that the doctors are just being light-hearted (and generalising!), apologies for any annoyance caused by the video!
+John Smith Nurses are useless in the UK can't even put in a venflon cause they "haven't been trained" FFS if you can take blood you can insert a venflon. I'm a doctor that was never formally trained in venflons either and only did a handful of them in medical school. I learned on the job in two weeks. So many nurses with a decade or more experience just say oh I'm not "iv trained". It's such a pleasure to work with the occassional one who can actually help you out with venflon's cause if you need to do 10 of them, and people are unwell in the wards, and more patients are piling up in A&E you are really taxed for time.
The giddy brunette nurse really irritated me! Nurses are NOT less educated we are just educated on different aspects of patient care and likely have a lot more insight into patients having spent multiple 12 hour shifts with them! Especially in specialty areas such as ICU and ED where the nurses very likely have MORE knowledge than the junior doctors!
There is way less education to be a nurse than to be a doctor. That’s just a fact. If they’re just the same, then presumably nurses could pass all the medical school exams? Nursing is a very important profession, but it is nowhere near as academic as medicine. We should love our own professions rather than trying to make ourselves into things we’re not.
@@user-xy4ff5yp7b I always think nurses and doctors are very much like Architectures and civil engineers architecture focuses more on the spatial functionality and aesthetics of the development work and is more concerned with the artistry, look, feel and functionality of the design, while Civil Engineering concentrates on the structural elements of the design/ to build a house we need both and to correct a human we need both Drs and nurses/ that is because my husband is a civil engineer and I used to work with him for years then I decided to do something totally different and now I am just about to qualify as a nurse. I don't like anyone underestimate my three years of hard working study a degree in health and science and doing 12 hrs placements/ nursing is not easy it's only become easy if you enjoy caring for people.
Sagar Wahab I know nursing is an excellent and valuable profession. That’s why I think we should treasure it rather than claim it’s something it’s not :)
How simple n humble oll the Nurses are 💝

"we like Samosas" Nurses win. I LOVE SAMOSAS
I generally love teaching hospitals where most doctors have not yet grown a massive ego (surgeons perhaps...they acquire this early.)
can u tell me difference betwen the teaching hospitals and normal hosiptals

What a bs generalisation about Male FY1s.
Ah the simpler days when males were males and females were females.
The simpler days of 2014? 😂

Rosanna Short how many years do nurses school?

Sagar Wahab I like the analogy you use
Why don't nurses understand how busy doctors are? It's ridiculous lol
Moea Nimmo why don't doctors understand how busy nurses are? we're the ones who do most of the orders... so you should know!
Have you actually ever worked on a ward before? Both nurses and doctors have a lot on their hands. Stop pitting them against each other.
We are running around in circles doing everything...the implementation!!!
