Ive lived in Cali my whole life, palm trees everywhere , and ive never once thought about the dangers and the very hard job of keeping them trimmed, much respect and great video. saludos desde Los Angeles !
Hola ahora soy seguidor tuyo.
although my Spanish isn't that good, and that we don't have any palm trees in the cold The Netherlands I enjoyed watching this video. With what system do you ascend the tree? is it just a chest ascender? Thank you!
I have seen a lot of companies climb up under the dead fronds and guys get stuck up under that they should climb up over them like you are in the video one of the safest ways or bucket truck if accessible
Respect to you, sir. I have a palm tree in my back yard, I'd it's 3 story's tall. I absolutely hate it because of the trash it drops on my property and neighbors property. I will pay someone to cut it down.
Ason Unique many internet folk say no. however growing up I've seen it all over my desert area. the palms never die or get sick because of it. and it gets to be 115 degrees astound the time we trim. we use lineman gaffs which are shorter so they don't dig in deep
If I’m paying someone big money to climb all the way up there, I might as well throw in a few bucks more and cut the whole freakin tree down! What’s the point? If you’re just going to have to fork out a lot of money every time you need to trim it again. I don’t get it.
Way too overpruned. Illegal to do this in parts of the country like certain counties in FL and CA. Not ANSI A300 standards for proper tree work. Good climber with nice gear though.
DL lol at “overpruned.” Maybe he should climb up there every 3 days to take a new dead frond off so as to not “over prune” and offend people. The guy is putting his life on the line to trim that palm...damn right he’s going to “over-prune”
He say in the video (in spanish lenguage) ...the owner want that prune... because he say to the owner the standar cutt is in 45...but the owner pay....
rpedraza1 I costom made the thing on me neck but you can get it at tree stuff it's called chest harness , and to accend it's called croll chest assender they are both from tree stuff
Right?! Same here. But i had a bf that did this sort of work. Not only was he fit af, i told my mom i finally found a doctor to possibly marry, a tree doctor but a doctor.

Bee and wasp hives are common in the dead fronds.

GreenScene Landscaping maintenance yes this palm trees are one off the dangerous palm to trim.
Yes they are those Washingtonia Robusta trees
Respect to you, sir. I have a palm tree in my back yard, I'd it's 3 story's tall. I absolutely hate it because of the trash it drops on my property and neighbors property. I will pay someone to cut it down.
both , you and your house value will miss it.
I will cut your palm down for a million dollars
It provides shade and keeps your house cool.
I find this palm ugly and requires a lot of work in maintenance, I would not plant in my garden, good job guys .
Like a big weed
If you skin it it'll always be skinned but you have to remove the fronds every time they die they do look ugly
True. The problem with the "pretty" type of palms: the fronds come down on their own when windy.
What's maxican?
Gracias

True Professional.
good job man!! el que sabe, sabe
I still think shimmying up with the belt would be easier using your legs and safer? But how would I know ? I'm afraid of heights!
Spikes will kill the tree. Palms are softer than say Oak
are gaffs normally used on palm trees?
Ason Unique many internet folk say no. however growing up I've seen it all over my desert area. the palms never die or get sick because of it. and it gets to be 115 degrees astound the time we trim. we use lineman gaffs which are shorter so they don't dig in deep
I love Maxicans
wow. someone just recently died doing similar to what this guy is doing, in cali.
This guy shows it the right way: Top to bottom. Falling fronds won't hit or trap him.
Scary work

How much $$ cost for that one palm trim?
Thousands
Normaly a palm like this around $2000 dollars
The croll is not sufficient for fall protection on its own, one little twig gets stuck in there, a piece of clothing or gear and bam, freefall.
Balls of steel
Who knows what spiders, scorpions or snakes might be awaiting the unwary atop those palms?
from tree perspective,..man wit cainsaw a lot worse!..lol
Why? he didn't kill the tree.
Many critters make their homes in those dried curled palm fronds.
Just jiggling them means war.
@@lancethrustworthy i was always told to never fuck with a palm tree that hasnt been trimmed , scorpions live in them. is that true?
@@dubb9020 Grew up in Arizona, YES! scorpions often found in those palm trees.

"maxican" Yes.
corposcum have destroyed it, just to line their own greedy pockets.
I'm shook

Please explain the reason for keeping a palm tree that tall. It seems it's outlived its usefulness except for neighbors living 5 miles away.
Agreed, I don't get it

awesome
Birds plant that type of palm , every time a see one in my yard a kill it with bleach.
i don't get what you saying bro...
they look better when they aren't pruned imo
that's a damn lie if you know what your doing they turn out nice buddy
I know right! You this tiny bunch of leaves on top.
They should be pruned but not to this extent. Cut way too much off leaving it look “ugly” like a feather duster. No need to cut this much.
Totally MAXican!
a least 2 hours leaving the job done...
I wish it was in English like the Title suggests.

Wow! Scary, I would want the entire palm tree removed. Too much and too big.
But it's probably a $700 job
Is what she said lol
