For the final song of their set, the four-piece performed “Rawnald Gregory Erickson the Second,” a track from their 2008 debut album, Starfucker.

Ugh I feel old, I was listening to this like 10 years ago. Seems like a lot of these sort of pop up indie classics like this don't really age, they stay pretty fresh. Definitely has that quality of a song out of time.

Was actually always a little curious what this one might sound like live. Studio's massively better imo, but it's not bad at all. Certain songs, usually highly produced ones, are often difficult to pull off live. Another that comes to mind is Leaf House by Animal Collective.

MysticHydra It’s way better if you see this at an actual show, when I saw them it was much better than this video. I have seen animal collective live a few times but they never play anything from sung tongs, I would listen to an ok live version of leaf house in person though.

Difficult song to play live..???
I understand if their playing something like Progressive Rock, yeah that would be understood....but this kind of music it's easy to play...
I can play all instruments by myself to this song......

Good music is undeniable, regardless of genre. I agree it’s a solid tune And honestly, idk, i think after more than a decade we can stop calling this hipster garbage. ‘Hipster’ is inherently associated with try hard posturing and this guy has been making *variations* of this kind of music in all that time- it’s pretty clear it’s not a pose for him at this point, but that it’s sincere, which is probably part of why it transcends for you
