  • “Without birth and death, and without the perpetual transmutation of all the forms of life, the world would be static, rhythm-less, undancing, mummified.” -Alan Watts
STRFKR’s compositions and otherworldly performances thrive on Watt’s perpetual motion concepts. It’s a philosophy frontman Joshua Hodges has consistently embraced since they featured sampled recordings of Watts on their debut album, Starfucker.
Now in their 17th year together, the band’s latest release, Parallel Realms, offers a clear manifestation of this philosophy, featuring familiar melodies, existential songwriting, and five fresh, palette-cleansing interludes.
STRFKR has never shied away from creating cohesive albums, retentive to their personal beliefs and musical intuitions. Considering the diversity of sound paired with the interludes on this album, Parallel Realms is arguably STRFKR’s most STRFKR album to date.
Ahead of their April 11th performance at Emo’s, STFKR came into KUTX Studio 1A. Read more at kutx.org/sessions-interviews/...

awesome performance, taking into matter that these songs off their new album require a lot of synth programming done previously because if not they would need to hire an extra 2 band mates to do so LIVE! STRFKR once again never disappoints 😊

It's too bad they couldn't do a "live" performance without prerecorded tracks.

@@qcrew2938 the singer (josh hodges i think) used the pre recorded the vocals on this performance... looks depressed :(
im guessing was an on the fly decision, totally understandable if he was not feeling it. but idk it wouldve been probably better to just call a raincheck on it then and hope for another day to come on KUTX. just doesn't have the feel as it wouldve if he was feeling himself

So much skill. Their new album Parallel Realms is perfect all the way through. It's been so long since I've heard a replayable album. Amazing! 👏🤩
