However I do not always agree with the referring and I belie that public awareness of refereeing changes should be improved. last fight Mayer Vs Sasson, was wrongly treated. IJF referees are changing the way they referee as they go but no one else is informed of rule changes. If you guys are to keep up the sport fear you have to explain your actions publicly before the contest not make up after on the seminars. The leg grab was there and even that was not major factor of the score it was still there to add extra security and prevention of uke to escape. It should be tarted as leg grab as it did limit the turn and did effect to the score. I see no difference as if it was ko uchi gari from the position of arm under the armpit (as for ippon seoinage) and the arm slips down and touches the leg, what I believe is still illegal move. I noticed that the initial time for passivity has been reduced from 20 to 15 sec on few matches, that shall be clear to all as well. How we are going to follow IJF rules on National and local events if on international level competition rules are not clear to everyone. As State level referee I do understand the pressure and difficulties referees are facing and all I would like to see the announcement of rule changes publicly before they are implemented as we are all part of the Judo world and we need to know the rules before the contest not after.
