Two words - Marc Trestman. He turned the Chicago Bears defense into swiss cheese.
I also hate Trestman. He sucked as the Offensive Coordinator with my Ravens. The players didn't like or respect him.
McKay took an expansion team to the playoffs in four seasons and went to the playoffs 3 of 4 years between 79-82. Ryan & Glanville may have been more media darlings than good head coaches but don't belong on this list either. Brad Childress was disliked by his players but for a bad Favre pass might have taken the Vikings to a SB. Where's Dan Henning on this list? Failure with multiple teams. I see this vid was made in 2016 before Matt Patricia was a HC but I'll mention him.
The picture you labeled as Walt Kiesling was actually former Eagles coach Greasy Neale...who led the Eagles to 3 straight NFL Championship Game appearances and back to back Championships in 1948-49.

The team Rod Rust was just bad, so that didn’t help. Plus the organization was just a disaster, so that didn’t help either. But he didn’t exactly make the team better by any means.
You should update your list. Urban Myer makes the top three,. easy. Matty Patricia should also be under consideration to make the list. Great tune, by the way.
Clive Rush of the '69/'70 Patriots.Sadly died at age 49 of a heart attack in 1980.
Bobby Petrino should be number 1. Rich Kotite was not good, but he did have a playoff season.
Rich Kotite was indeed very bad and remains the all time lowest point in NY Jets history. His hapless post game press conferences as he got grilled by an unforgiving nyc media were the stuff of legend. The sweat coming down his face, the awkward pauses as he tried to look for words, the lame cliches like "well we're going to have to go back and study the tape" to try and explain a loss, all these things are unforgettable. His reactions and facial expressions on the sidelines as he would slowly realize that the Jets were about to lose again were a post game highlight reel in themselves. Having said all of that however, it should be noted that in his worst year he went 1-15. The 2008 Detroit Lions and the 2017 Cleveland Browns both went 0-16. I would definitely put Kotite in the top 5 worst coaches of all time, but i dont know if he deserves to get #1 all time worst.

I dont think that it is reasonable to think that H.C.s of expansion teams are going to come out smelling like roses ...
John McKay started 0-26 coaching an expansion team with no expansion draft as we know it (there was one but teams could protect anyone and everyone worth a damn), no salary cap forcing teams to part with valuable players, and no free agency. Two seaons after breaking the 0-26 skid he had the Bucs in the NFC Championship Game. No way does he belong on this list. Hell, even if he never got the Bucs anywhere, he should be disqualified just for his quotes.

Looks like you're a Raiders fan. Lane Kiffin should not be #3. I'm not sure if he should be on this list at all. Eric Mangini wasn't a bad coach. He had a lot of potential who deserves another chance. Lovie Smith and Steve Spagnuolo should be on this list. Rich Kotite was horrible but I still say Lou Holtz should be #1. Holtz is the biggest disgrace of a head coach in NFL history.

I guess for his second go-round with the Raiders, which was a disaster. But yeah, he was good in his first run, and a trailblazer, being the first Black NFL head coach.
