Do you have any content like this but for a 2016 Chevy Impala LTZ Limited the exterior handle on it popped off but it's still closes and locks it looks like that exterior part just popped off a little bit

This helped a lot. Make sure the 90°pick you get is at least 8 inches long not including the handle. Make sure you pull the latch all the way so the handle just kinda drops in. Luckily the 7mill bolt didn't even come out all the way. This wasn't even a 10 minute job once I had the correct tools. Thanks A1!

Great vid, but very best I can provide is almost get the 7mm bolt out, then use an extension pen magnet to be sure when you take it out the last thread or two. You do not need a pick. Best thing I found was a long bread tie that is wrapped around turnips or collards in the grocery store. Another great idea is weed eater cord. Loop it and pull latch.
This is the best answer- I used weed eater cord and it took me about 60 seconds.
I have a 2018 GMC Terrain. My bolt was a T25, so the tape trick wouldn't work. I had a magnet handy to slip in there to get the bolt out. Worked great!

Just a side note. Some of the Tahoes have a button on the handle for unlocking the door when a person pushes it before pulling the door handle. To replace those handles, you will need to take the inner door panel off and unplug the connector for that button in the handle
Where is the video if the bolt fell?
For the rear handles I use a thin electrical wire. Thread It through the metal piece pull it twords you while installing the new handles. Pull the then pull the wire out.
Maybe tell the cameraman not to have any coffee the day of filming? Holy Cow!

is there any way we can get the dimensions for the bolt in the door? I just bought a used 2017 silverado and that bolt is missing.

This might be the worst design by far on a door handle. If you don't have a long handled awl (like I didn't) and you have to bend some metal rods (that are small enough to fit inside of there) then you will really have a lot of trouble with this thing. I much preferred the old design of having to take off the door panel and unscrew them from the inside. I broke the screw hole so I had to glue the other piece (with gorilla glue) back in there to make it stay. Absolute garbage is all I have to say. I would have fixed a pre 2014 door handle in about 30 minutes and this took me over an hour.

What if my previous handle was broken off and part of the mechanism next to the lock is stuck inside? Can I do it this same way or will I have to remove the whole door panel

Anyone have an issue with the bolt not seating back into the door once installed. It will not fasten itself.
Same here. I think the piece with the threads is out of place. He never mentioned it. I guess I shouldn’t have screwed it all the way out

So update. With the angle I was struggling. I used a string from a mask to make it easier on me 2021 stay woke.
Now put it back on....getting it off is the easy part
