    Learn 20 verbs you can use to be more concise in English. "Concise" means that what you say or write is short and clear. You remove all of the unnecessary words and details.
    I know many students want to speak faster in English. Increasing your speed comes with time and lots of practice. But, it's not always about speed. Using concise language can help you express yourself in a clear way.
    After every four verbs, I give you a mini gap-fill to help you review what you learned. Can you please let me know your score in the comments? Did you get 20/20? Or maybe 10/20?
    Use the discussion questions at the end of this video. Answer the questions with a friend or speaking partner. The more you practice, the more comfortable you'll feel using these verbs in an English conversation.
    Here are the discussion questions:
    1) How do you usually defrost frozen food before cooking it?
    2) What food do you usually crave when you're hungry?
    3) Why do you think people enjoy reminiscing about the past?
    4) Do you sometimes assume things about people without getting to know them first?
    5) When was the last time you assembled a piece of furniture (or toy)?
    6) Why might someone need to tiptoe around the house?
    7) How does road construction inconvenience commuters in your city?
    8) How do you relieve stress after a long day?
    9) Can you elaborate on your favorite hobby and why you enjoy it?
    10) How do hotels accommodate guests with special needs?
    11) What strategies do you use to cope with difficult situations?
    12) When was the last time you needed someone to reassure you, and why?
    13) When was the last time you shivered because you were cold or scared?
    14) What's a challenging task you have recently tackled and how did you handle it?
    15) Do you enjoy cuddling with pets or loved ones?
    16) How do you think adding more variety to your daily routine could improve your life?
    17) How can you console a friend who is feeling sad?
    18) Can you describe a project or task that you've been a part of that involved teamwork and collaboration?
    19) Have you ever inherited something special from a family member?
    20) Is there someone you trust enough to confide in when you have a problem?

      @@ArnelsEverydayEnglish Good afternoon. I'm reading a novel, where I encounter strange speech forms with DO, which I show below. Tell me, are they now used in modern English or not? If yes, then tell us about them. 1. Intimate as you are, you must know how it is to be done."
      "But upon my honour, I do not. I DO assure you that my intimacy has not yet taught me that. 2. I hope I never ridicule what is wise and good.
      Follies and nonsense, whims and inconsistencies, DO divert me, I own, and I laugh at them whenever I can. 3. I DO think it is the hardest thing in the world, that your estate should be entailed away from your own children. 4. My dearest Lizzy, DO but consider in what a disgraceful light it places Mr. D.

    In my opinion, building strong vocabulary is crucial for being clear and concise when speaking/writing. The way I see it, to be able to use the best fitting words in any given situation is the key to success in mastering the language. I love the grammar part, yet I have to give advantage to vocabulary in this particular case. :) Yeah, anyways, thank you for the great video, Arnel! Greetings from Bulgaria :)

    I did 20 out of 20….
    It was kinda easy for me because some new verbs look like Portuguese. 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
    Console = consolar
    Confide= confiar
    Inconvenience= inconveniência
    Elaborate= elaborar
    Accommodate = acomodar
    Involve= envolver
    Concise = conciso
    Inherit = herdar ( more or less ) Etc.
    That’s why I love English. Latin words everywhere
