NICE set up ..... (I myself own a 2016 Grand Cherokee, and I have been building out my own Jeep for use in the up coming season ) . I LIKE that you took the time to add the carpeting to your platform (to protect the interior panels of your Cherokee 👌👍👍), most people don't make the extra effort, and find out later the damage that could happen .... I ordered a Napier SUV tent, and have a 12 volt Fridge/Freezer, D=Hive air mattress, and a couple black colapsable storage bins that "fit perfectly" ... Now I need to find the "right" Solar power station , to meet my needs .... "Thanks" for posting your Cherokee build !!
Nice Mark! That's pretty similar to how I did the back of my flooring van. Store the tools underneath and plenty of room for the carpet, tile and such on top.
It doesn't take much! I had a much nicer setup in the Subaru Ascent, but it was a bigger SUV. Someday I'll do an actual van, but for now I wanted something that can still go off road a bit.
Been toying with equipping my 2016 Jeep Cherokee Overland as a sleeper. Sometimes I crash in the passenger seat with bug nets on the windows and USB fans running off power banks. Not perfect. I like to toss a bit while sleeping. Going to see if I can adapt a half-size version.
I want to do a build in my 2021 Cherokee. Curious how many inches were the feet blocks on the second piece sitting on the back of your seats? Also how long are your table legs that you used? Great build! Super inspiring! Thanks!
Great build! I have an orange 21 Jeep Cherokee Latitude. I want to build a platform for half of the back so that I can leave a seat up for my dog to sleep in. I also have an SUV tent to try. I was wondering what you do to keep te battery from going dead from the back gate staying open while camping?
The SUV tents are nice. While the gate is open, I manually click the locking mechanism closed, to trick the the Jeep into thinking the gate is closed. I'll usually hang something from the locking mechanism (i.e. carbiner) to remind myself to unlock it before closing the gate.
I'm only 5'8", and have plenty of room. I'd say if you push the front seats fully forward, there would be room. Also, at least on my Cherokee, the front passenger seat folds completely down, so you could potentially extend your bed platform further on that side if you needed the extra room.
Oh my. Do you have the measurements. This is exactly what I am looking for.
I was just thinking the same thing
Had a similar set up in my Subaru OBW, but I just traded in for a Cherokee. This is a great inspo video!
Where there's a will, there's a way!
Looks great. You took advantage of all the space you have in there.
Thanks! Space is limited, but it works!
Great job on your build and video. You got a new subscriber.
Awesome, thank you!
That should be handy for your travels.
Indeed! Being able to do this has changed the way I travel.
Hello Mark What a great setup
Thanks, simple, but it works!

That's awesome! I still need a good power station and a fridge. One thing at a time! Rock on!
Very cool! That took some precise measuring to get that just right!
I'm not much of a handyman either, another reason I kept it simple! LOL
Thank you for showing your build. It looks great and seems easy enough.
Much easier than the one I did in the Subaru Ascent, I over thought that one, LOL!
@Slone's Wilderness Expeditions I am sure that is easy to do...over complicating the design. God job.

Clever build Mark!
Thanks! Nothing special, but nothing special was needed! Hopefully someday I'll have a RTT, but until then, this works.
That is a very cool setup, nice job.
Thank you!
Very nice. We love our hatch awning. Awesome setup.👍
Thanks! The awning comes in real handy.

A half size version would be even better, since the front passenger seat can fold all the way forward.
Can you make me a platform and ship it to me in “IKEA” like pieces? 😂 then I can just put it back together? Lol
I'll get right on that 🤣
@@SlonesWildernessExpeditionsto be honest, if you did sell them pre made I would definitely purchase one.

Don't forget the passenger seat flips all the way down forward . Anybody can sleep in one of these with a little bit of wood cutting.
Yep, great feature.

Would it be beneficial to take the back seats out?
If you have no use for them, probably. I wanted to make my build as simple as possible.
I'm 6 foot. Could my wife and I sleep in there?

So, the question is...could you build one for me to purchase?
Haha! It's not too difficult to do, the hardest part is just getting started.
I sent you a message on Instagram of my build last year on my 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk, there might be a few differences that interest you. Great job
Checked it out, yeah, great ideas! I kept mine as simple as possible, I could definitely see incorporating some of those ideas in the future. Rock on!
