I work at a Safeway affiliate store here in the states. Our branch actually makes the buttercream with buttercream base (sugars and flavorings pre-added) and real butter. We make over 100 lbs at a time (90 lbs of base + 10 lbs butter + 4 lbs of water). Personally I think it tastes pretty good but it ultimately depends one who is making the buttercream, how long they are mixing it, and how much water is being added. That being said, our 2 sister store branches now use a premade buttercream - it tastes similar to the frosting in the can in my opinion, super sweet and soft. The cake that you have in your video looks like non-dairy whip cream, which is quite fluffy, easy to work with, and does not crust like buttercream. We typically use it for our ice cream cakes or upon special request. It's kind of like cool whip. We also offer real whip cream icing that is pre-sweetened for bakery use.
There's other videos like this but she's the only one who has used the same icing which is such a great tutorial. If you aren't a baker then you probably aren't great at making icing either. So you're right, her concept is great.
I work at Ralph's which is Kroger...n we use commerical white buttercream..which contains shortening n a bunch of other added ingredients..they have Stabilizers so they can last longer either Inside a Cold Case or outside Room temperature but people seem to enjoy it
Hey friend the icing looks like "vanilla topping" you can also add a small amount of milk or water to bring it back to what it used to be before . It also comes in chocolate, it looks like super white whipped cream, but don't contain any cream at all
Preservatives is what's in that frosting. I CAN DETECT these TASTES. So honestly I would be able to tell when I'm eating BOXED,OR STORE BOUGHT CAKE. So this idea is cool and all BUT I WOULDN'T CHARGE as much for this "fake" 😄cake as supposed to a REAL AT HOMEBAKED CAKE
(1:50) I watched a video before with same problem of the buttercream clumping after mixing. I believe she just added water ... don’t remember exactly, but here is the link! I always like watching these transformation videos! They're lots of fun! Just wondering, would it be possible to air brush the wafer paper before you cut the small flowers or would that make the wafer paper curl up too much?
If you’re really really light with it you could probably do it, but there’s always the risk of it curling up a bit which is why I usually do it after. Petal dust is also a great way to colour it!
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe I love watching your videos. I to love decorating cakes and cupcakes. I have one question and I hope you don't think I'm dumb, what is wafer paper and is it edible
There's a few videos like this but no one has used the same icing yet. Great video. I have a question, if I was making a few cakes and I have one oven and have to wait for one cake to bake before putting in another one, should I leave the batter out? Or put it in the fridge?
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe I can do 2 in the middle rack. I just have one standard oven so if I want to bake 5 rounds I can only do 2 at a time. Thank you for getting back to me so fast. I see you do that for all of your fans which is so nice.
Looking So Pretty!!💐 Great cake transformation🎂 I have done a handful if these as I was short on time😂 My fav grossery store cakes r from Sobeys here in Ontario, I worked in the bakery department and was disappointed to see that the icing came already made from large buckets😵. Does anybody know Sobeys buttercream recipe😁?
I did it in my fridge with low humidity and it was actually fine! If your fridge is known to cause cakes sweating out though then it won’t work and you would need to do this last minute. 🙂
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe how did you lower the humidity? The flowers did came out really nice. jelly! I have a small fridge so cant really do big arrangements like that.

Wow so informative! Thanks for sharing 🍰💕
Re-using the frosting is why I tuned in.
Thanks for the American buttercream friend shout out!! hahaha
That wasn’t you....😂 💕 also, I love that you’re watching so quickly! I literally just released this!!!
@@SweetDreamsBakeShoppe you have OTHER American buttercream friends?! :o

You nailed the transformation Ashley!! I want to try this out sometime it's an awesome technique 😍💕 Thank you for sharing!
Thanks, Cristina! You should definitely do it on your channel!
It's called "Better Creme" and it's made by Brach's. It's basically Crisco and corn syrup (or that's my understanding)

Very cute. Love the flowers

Amazing
Me too I love to decorate a cake with American buttercream frosting 🧁 I think for me is easier

Yeah I don’t think I would sell this-more just fun to do as a cake glow up for yourself! 🥰💕
This is absolutely stunning! Could you do a flavor layer of like white chocolate chips and raspberries, like is that even a thing? Great job!
Oooo you totally could---there are definitely no rules when it comes to flavour profiles or decorating when it comes to cake!!

It’s something called better cream similar to cool whip
Ooooo interesting....I guess I should stick it in the fridge ASAP!! Thanks! 🥰
Does it come out of a bucket?
Yes a big bucket with a pink and white label most supermarkets used it

Its made of whipped shortening an powdered sugar. No butter
Thanks for the info!

Ok but, how would you store this in the fridge without having the paper to become wilted?

I have a setting I think 🤔 yeah I needed to invest in a whole separate fridge so I could have taller cakes!
It tastes like it has crisco in the icing.
Yeah, definitely some sort of shortening taste to it!
